Some days they just won't send someone out when we've told them multiple times we need a caregiver every single day. Or if someone calls out sick they don't have enough staff to cover them, which leaves people, like us, without a caregiver which isn't possible for us. When your parents are sick and bed ridden we desperately need help and we thought Select Home Care was the reliable option but I guess not. They also don't screen their caregivers well enough. We have pets in our home and they sent caregivers who hates animals. They also have sent caregivers who don't speak English, or curses a lot in front of family which is absolutely ridiculous, have broken dishes and teapots, who have been controlling and manipulative with my mom or family. Outrageous. Do not choose them for a caregiving company. Their caregivers and service are nightmares. UPDATE 12/16/19: The owner has messaged me multiple times in attempt to get me to change my review to 5 stars and I refuse. My family and my mother are the most important things in my life and they've disrespected us multiple times in the past. I'm not changing my review so his company can "look good" for Yelp. I've posted photos of the text messages he has sent asking me to change my review. Also, I'd like to know who the "adult children" he's referring too are. You can read the reviews and decide if this is a company you'd trust in your home.

I've made a huge mistake, chose and agency that owned by a friend of a friend who I know, and had a nightmare for 5 full days ( the only easy part was a sign up), other than that, I felt that for them my Mom is a "piece" to make money with. Thankfully, I've been referred to Alexandra ( at that time I didn't even knew the name of the agency). From the first conversation with her that took an hour and she wanted to know everything about my mom, her situation and about our family, I felt very comfortable, I felt that she cares about people who gets under her care. I've decided to make a transfer from the "nightmare agency " to her. And it's been the best decision I've made. Transfer was very smooth and easy , she answered every phone call and text, was concerned about every single detail. When the transfer was completed, I had nurse coming to the house within an hour. He spent a good 40 min with me and mom, making sure he didn't miss anything about her health and condition. Next day, I had everyone on my mom team calling me, and with every single person I came in contact with, it was very easy to communicate, I felt warmth and compassion. Every question and concern I had was addressed. I called Alexandra and told her that, and thank her for having such an incredible team. And I came into a peace myself, feeling that I don't have to frustrated anymore with getting help, and can concentrate on spending my time with mom. I'm a business owner my self working directly with clients, and always believing that yes we are in business to make a living, but your client or patient come first. And that is what I'm experiencing so far with Alexandra and her team.

OakView skilled nursing facility is a top-notch location for acute rehab. From the moment you drive…read moreup to the facility, walk into the building and go to your assigned room, you can see the building is very well taken care of and nicely decorated. This is important as it shows their attention to detail. In the room, there is a lovely armoire for every patient to use for their belongings along with a nightstand, hospital bed and tray. The armoire is much nicer and larger than the usual small closet you find in most facilities. The true star of the facility are the employees. The CNA's are always quick to respond and provide you with the service you need. The LVN's who dispense the medication are equally quick to help and all of them have kind words along with words of encouragement for each patient. Unfortunately, I have been in numerous facilities and non of them compare. OakView is fine tuned and runs very smoothly. Administrative staff checks on the patients frequently to make sure all needs are met. Treatment plans are prepared by medical staff. And the social worker is very kind and extremely helpful in taking care of the patient while on the premises but also after they leave OakView. She even called me two days after my release from OakView to check on me and to see if there was any additional needs I had. I was extremely impressed by this as I had never had this happen before. Never was there a social worker that did a third of the work this woman did let alone follow through and show she cared every step of the way. OakView feels like a resort with medical assistance, not a skilled nursing facility. The food is excellent and if it's not to your liking, the chef is willing to prepare something that meets your desires. No other facility I know of does that. If and when I need to be in a skilled nursing facility again, I hope I am blessed to be able to find a room at OakView. I highly recommend it. P.S. They also have an assisted living facility.

The facility was clean, well-kept, and organized, and communication with us was steady and reliable. I've even told my husband that this is exactly the kind of place I'd hope for myself one day. During my visits with my grandma, I saw how happy and well-cared-for the other residents were--the daily meals, activities, and interactions all felt warm, structured, and intentional. It was the kind of environment that gives you real peace of mind. The level of care they provide is exceptional and they were excellent care partners with my parents.

This facility can be considered a high-end senior living home. Audience learned the difference between Dementia and Alzheimer and how to live longer etc. The tour and lecture are 5 stars. Since we do not have an actual living experience at this facility, the overall rating, for the time being, is 4 stars until gaining more real-world experience here.
