The new director is the least personable, her door is always closed she never is out with the residents. Marge the longest running original director was very visible to the residents. They cannot keep staff. There has not been a physical therapist in over a year. The shuttle driver is constantly changing. They cannot keep maintenance staffed. Don't get me started on the food. The care and satisfaction of the residents have declined immensely since the change to "The Sunrise Corp Way".

They both recognized the importance that this transition be a positive move not only for my Mother-in-law but for us. My 91 year old Mother-in-law lost everything except for her kitty in the Palisades fire. She has lived with my husband and myself since January 2025. We felt that she needs to socialize and be active to enhance her quality of life. The staff at Fairwinds made that happen. We had ordered furniture, but it was not in yet. Jen and Tony organized the setting up of the entire apartment. They moved furniture, dishes, towels, bedding etc. from one of the models. They placed snacks, kitty treats, flowers, balloons and even a wreath and sign on the front door welcoming her. Fairwinds community is a clean, bright and cheery community. They offer PE classes, movies, games, outings and more. They have the residents engaged mentally and physically. There is a variety of delicious food offered daily as well. We are a family that has lived in West Hills for 30 years and raised our children here. We saw Fairwinds being built 25 years ago. Had friends place their loved ones at Fairwinds. I have never heard of any negative experiences from anyone! That is why this was our first choice. My family visited my mom multiple times a day for a few weeks and we got a chance to see Maria and her staffs' endless patience and constant care of all the residents. They treat everyone with dignity, feed them freshly cooked, healthy food and keep everything (and everyone) clean while never neglecting personal needs. We felt our mother was safe and we were always welcome. Doing this job is physically and emotionally demanding but Maria is truly fulfilling her calling and does this difficult job with grace. I don't do many reviews but I know how important it was for me to have recommendations in this situation as I was entrusting my mom into someone else's care and I recommend America's Care Manor whole heartily.

I can not say enough positive things about how wonderfully I was taken care of. The staff is very knowledgeable about patient care and does so in a gentle manner. Meals were well balanced and delicious. I have been a resident of other similar homes in the past. If I needed such care again, I definitely would want to be at this assisted living facility.
