I would NEVER recommend Two Men and a Truck. Our contract with them was for packing our house, storing the furniture and packed items and then moving them back in 8 months later. The estimator totally underestimated the packing time and the number of boxes that would be required. That meant that the movers and truck had to go back to the warehouse with the full truck, store the furniture and packed boxes, get more boxes and come back to our house to complete the packing. That meant additional hours and LOTS more money. Eight months later, when our furniture and items were returned, is when we learned the real problems - not one box had been labeled. Which means that you cannot verify to the movers that you have received everything. BUT Two Men and a Truck make you sign papers releasing them from ANY liability when they have unpacked the truck but before you can unpack the boxes. We lost 2 boxes which contained ALL of our sheets and towels and our dinner plates - Two Men and a Truck refused any settlement. ALSO, pieces of our furniture were damaged: for example, our dining room table was gouged in several places and needs to be completely refinished, and Two Men and a Truck refused settlement because, as required, we signed the indemnity papers as the movers were leaving. Do NOT trust Two Men and a Truck. read more

Two Men and a Truck claim to "treat your belongings like they treat their own grandparents". If so, someone should check on their grandparents. We contracted with Two Men and A Truck in Fort Wayne to move our household from Roanoke, IN to South Carolina. We chose them largely because of their pitch that our belongings would be loaded onto a truck dedicated to just our belongings. We will not be sharing that truck with anybody else. That is the service we paid for. When our moving truck arrived, the first 6 feet of the truck and the attic section of the truck were already loaded with items from the companies owner that he was sending to a location in Florida. Because it was a non-dedicated truck, roughly 6 feet of our goods did not fit on the truck. As a result of being forced to share this truck with the owners belongings, a second truck was used to load the rest of our stuff and take it back to their warehouse. When our belongings left our house, they left in two trucks instead of the one that we were promised. When we received the first truck two days later, we noticed a significant amount of goods on the back had been unloaded. These items appeared on the second truck, which arrived the following day. A significant amount of these items were damaged and broken. Prior to the loading we paid for what they sell as moving insurance. It is supposed to damaged goods. We paid $208 for a protection plan with a $500 deductible. The company refused to honor the protection plan we purchased,claiming they only owe us $.60 on the pound for damages, despite the damages being caused by their negligence and the violation of our original agreement. If you use them, buyer beware. They will not honor your contract and will not pay to replace the items they break, even if you purchase the optional protection plan. read more

Because of this, I know the importance of & how hard it can to find good, honest, ethical workers. [These aren't workers that are just sitting in an office & doing work, or working on something outside of a home-- You're working DIRECTLY with clients IN their HOMES!] Yesterday, I was at a friend/clients home cleaning while Sergei and Victor were moving & packing items for her. & PHEW!! Let me tell you!! It was a crazy day & they had their work cut out for them!! But still, they were nothing but POLITE, PATIENT, KIND, RESPECTFUL, CAREFUL, - you name it. I was SHOCKED. They were SO kind even- That whenever the load was over 2500lbs past capacity & they had to come back and unload items (late at night)- Once again, they didn't complain. The worse moving company I've ever used in my life and apparently I'm not the only one who thinks this. I had them move my household items to Chicago. It was a nightmare. Everything I had was either badly scratched or it was broken. The manager wouldn't even talk to me about the damage. It took until 2 in the morning for the movers to arrive in Chicago and unpack my things. I've never been so angry in my life. I'll never do business with them again. I went with Two Men & A Truck because they're a National company and because the moving company recommended to us was booked up and unavailable. All I can say is what a disaster this company is. We booked the move through Nate, who couldn't keep any of the details straight including the date we were supposed to move. Every time I talked to him I had to go over the same information over & over like we had never talked before, and that was when he could even be bothered to call back when he said he would. The 3 man crew who showed up to do the move, led by Cody, were clowns interested in goofing around more than working. I've never seen anybody less capable of loading a vehicle or actually working. Room under tables, etc. we're left empty on the truck as wasted space, only for them to say that they couldn't take any of the boxes that we had packed. While I knew from the on-site estimate getting everything in one truck would be close, these guys barely moved half our stuff claiming it wouldn't fit and that they "forgot" to load certain items. As a result I had to move half of our possessions myself, when we were on a tight deadline to give possession of our home to our buyers. Some of the things they thought were acceptable to do were: 1-drop a queen size mattress off a 2nd floor deck (they only stopped when I told them to and that they were about to break the railing off of the house) 2-goof around by pulling out our dogs' toys so they could throw them at each other and then leave them strewn about the front yard of our old house. 3-one "worker" thought it would be funny to take the large rubber bands that hold the moving blankets on furniture and shoot them at the others to see if he could get them to drop the pieces of furniture they were carrying 4-not let me inspect the truck to make sure everything was off it, like they are supposed to allow customers to do, only to "forget" to give us all of our possessions. (I had to make multiple calls to even get a response to get them to come back 2 days later and give us our stuff) 5-leave their trash all over both our old & new houses when they left both locations. I could go on & on but I won't, but to summarize if I had to choose between using this company again & putting all of my stuff in a pile in the yard and setting it on fire, I'd choose the bonfire every day & twice on Sunday! read more

They called 30 minutes prior to arrival to let us know when they would be there. Nothing broken or damaged ... everything was perfect. The real issue is if they damage your personal property they will not fix it. They damaged frame of brand new Anderson door in a brand new house. Pieces of the bottom part of door frame were cracked and chipped away by them rolling dolly over it. Notified company immediately. They came out and said get a quote. They never followed up. I followed up and the CFO said I gave them a quote for a new door when they only damaged the trim and they would not cover the quote. This information was false. Kept calling and another worker came out. They said it is cosmetic. Told them we do not accept this and they said they would follow up, they never did. Quotes were given for replacement. They said dollys are supposed to have protection so they do not damage property but they are old. Damaged garage wall. Did not properly patch hole and never came back to fix it. They will not fix any large damages. The move took significantly longer due to weather and circumstances. This was understandable. At the end of the day almost all of the crew were sitting outside when there was still furniture to build. Hired them to pack kitchen also. The boxes they did not label, a quarter of the kitchen they never packed. read more

I can't even begin to tell you how unprofessional the leadership of this company is. I'm not going to give into every detail but here is the brief. The movers were lethargic and doing things as if in slow motion. I gave them a directive to stop what they were doing and focus on the big furniture (I was going to just get a moving truck and do the little stuff by myself). They ignored me and the move took a very long time. At the conclusion, I was stupid and paid what they asked and figured I'd take it up with management, I wanted to speak to the owner but apparently, he "doesn't speak with customers" - He's up there next to Jesus sitting with God. So I settled with a manager. To say the least, he was defensive, didn't take the time to understand what happened and was extremely rude. I am convinced it is because they already had my money. There is much more I can say but this is probably enough. Choose another company or rent a truck and hire people off of Facebook (there is always people looking for work and equally as trained as their movers (doesn't take much). read more

We had a 4 bed 3 bath home moved by Two Men and a Truck out of Fort Wayne. Upon quote, a gentleman came to our home to provide an estimate. He was shown everything that needed to be moved from within and outside the house. We offered to box as much as we could to help defray cost, however still elected to hire a packing team and for them to move. We were quoted 6 hours move, 2 trucks, and 4 hours of packing by 4 packers. This wasn't nearly what we needed even after packing approximately 90 boxes ourselves. 2 packers worked extremely slow, overutilized their product (boxes, packing material) which we were charged for. Our move was over an hour each way. We were supposed to be on the road moving day to our new home after 4 hours of loading. They loaded for more than 8, maxed out two trucks and ended up leaving at least a half a truck load of stuff at our old home unmoved. We were supposed to have the kitchen brought into the new home and furniture set up. We were charged EXTRA because they went over time. The quote was a joke, we ended up spending $$$$ extra (not hundreds but thousands). Stay far away. We THANKFULLY moved near family and friends which helped us for 2 days to move things to rooms and unpack. I did try twice calling to talk to someone to no avail. During the move the movers tried calling their "manager" to no avail hence I am leaving this review. We have had to make multiple trips back to finish bringing more to the new house over an hour each way. Get help for lifting equipment etc. I would hate for this to happen to someone without resources to deal with this on a long distance move. STAY AWAY!!! read more

It was the hottest day of the year so far (90+) but that didn't stop them from being friendly, efficient, and staying after to ensure I was happy with the location of everything before they left. The 3 guys that did the move were wonderful! Very nice and helpful. But when one of them hit the side our brand new home and smashed our one day old gutters.....well, the company was NOT very accommodating. They were jerks to deal with, and in the end, would not pay for the same person who we paid the day before to install. They got a low ball bid elsewhere and paid us because we didn't want anyone but the person who installed the day before. (kind of wanted the color to match, etc.). Horrible experience with Two Men & A Truck, I would NOT recommend them. They showed up 30 minutes late, was stuck for almost 2 1/2 hours in my alley and damaged some of my items. I specifically told them not to go down the alley on the one side but they could easily use the other side and they chose not to listen and was stuck. While it was stuck NO ONE kept me updated. I did finally call and ask for another truck and they said they were working on getting it unstuck. The "Manager" that showed up to help them get unstuck never stopped to talk to me or reach out to me to apologize for the inconvenience. I did not feel the movers took very good care with my items and I have items damaged from the move. The next day they called to see how the move went and I requested to talk to a manager, when he called back he was very short with me, made excuses and acted like it was my fault. I understand things happen but to not take responsibility for what happened is poor business practice. I have reached out to Two Men & A Truck every day since to speak to a different manager and no one has called me back. POOR WAY TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS! If you have a problem do not expect them to help you or return your phone calls. Very Sad and disappointed :( :( Moving is stressful enough so when you hire movers you think it will relieve some of the stress - it made it so much worse. These are some of what Two Men & A Truck promise but they FAILED at these! Does not give you any info and then after we had discussed the date for almost 2 weeks it was booked as he never once said to give him a deposit to hold the day! HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!!They moved everything from our first location just fine with most everything on one level. There was a vase that a mover broke that I overlooked and didn't even add to my claims report. When we got to our new house with a 90-degree turn in our staircase, it was a entirely different story. They scratched up our drywall, woodwork, doors, and bedroom furniture. Our hallway upstairs had a consistent gouges, scrapes, and scratch marks 3 feet up and nearly down the entire 20-foot length of the hall. Not to mention the doors and woodwork, too. Nothing was spared. I have 8 y/o boys and bought some quality "rustic camp" bunk beds from Pottery Barn KIds, thinking that my own children may scratch them up, but we could touch up the quality wood more easily than other beds. The Two Men and a Truck movers did more damage to the bed frames in a few hours than my own children did in the 4 years we've had them! I don't know why they didn't stop after they had trouble with the first few pieces. They just plowed ahead and kept telling us all was well. The movers were friendly and apologetic, but the worst experience by far has been dealing with the company themselves. The customer service STINKS at best. It took them an entire month to send someone out to assess the damage, that we had to live with in the meantime. He filled the drywall holes with spackle. He did a decent-enough job of that, but I can only imagine that means he has a lot of experience repairing other jobs that went wrong with the movers, too. We moved in February, and the drywall was repaired in March with a promise to return soon to fix the paint and re-stain the trim and compensate us for all the damage. I went from bi-weekly attempts to contact to weekly. Any responses were vague promises to return and got fewer and farther between. So beyond frustrated and disappointed. It is now June. I feel like I have been patient far longer than most people would have been. I finally just gave up on them returning to make anything right. I painted and re-stained myself. It made our house less of a home right away to have so much damage done to it before we even lived in it. It wasn't even damage done by us or the previous owners. *** I have NEVER filled out a review (I've never even sent back food in a restaurant.), but I am beyond frustrated with their customer service, or better LACK of customer service and want to save you the trouble I've undergone with these movers. ***If you do go against my advice and hire them, just keep a close eye on them during the move. read more

This is without a doubt the most irresponsible moving company ever! My husband and I moved here in March, from Indianapolis. It was raining, and I was already relocated to Fort Wayne. My husband had had a heart attack a few months prior to our moving, and had chest pains while helping the movers load the truck. The movers were very nice, and assured him that he could go to the hospital and that they would finish packing up and meet him in Fort Wayne. That is not what happened. Instead, they left 6 carloads of stuff at our old apartment, and when I met the truck here in Fort Wayne, they have not secured a very valuable painting, and two of my upholstered dining room chairs were soaking wet. Suede mind you!! I called them the very next day and complained that my husband, in addition to his heart condition, had to take off two days of work to drive back to Indy to pick up the stuff the driver had promised to pack. The company refused to refund any money, and I filed a police report. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

If I could rate zero stars, I would... The movers worked hard but a wooden headboard was broken while being unpacked. It was not explained to me the difference in insuring against items that may be damaged, so the company is covering $27 against a $299 new headboard. BEWARE!!!! Hired them to move my office. They took apart my desk and didn't know how to put it back together. So rather than ASKING, they forced it back together, putting parts in the wrong place, drilling extra holes and ruining the desk. When I ask them to make it right, they said I signed a particle board waiver and refused. I was never shown the waiver and when I brought that up, they said I could have paid $100 for a protection plan (which was never offered). Not only did the waiver include particle board furniture, but basically every piece of furniture they moved, so essentially they were giving themselves free reign to ruin anything with no recourse. Not to mention I was charged $150 "travel fee" (was told $50) and they didn't even use the truck to move my furniture. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Although I will likely have to replace the $500 desk they ruined, my hope is this will save others from the same fate. read more

The three movers that helped us out (Polo, Mike & Richard) were an absolute delight. Very high-energy, very efficient, very careful and very fast. We don't ever plan on moving again, but we know who we'll be calling if we do. And we will gladly recommend 2M&aT to everyone we know. read more

If I was able to review less than a star, I would. We hired the Fort Wayne location for a move back in April, and I'm only now getting around to posting a review as I was waiting for resolution from the actual business before taking this to the internet for a horrible review (bah humbug to me for trying to allow them right this situation for us right?). Anyway, back in April, they came out to our previous residence to quote a move for us- which they did beautifully. So beautifully in fact, that we agreed to the quoted move price and moved forward with them. On the day of the move, they showed up with three individuals who didn't know we were moving any of the furniture from the house. Strike one. We negotiated an hour or so extra for them to be able to assist with the furniture (that was there when they provided the quote by the way). Later that day, I received a call from my wife informing me that they damaged my heirloom childhood piano- so I sped home to check it out. They'd cling wrapped a 500lb Mahogany piano, and had attempted to move it using the lid as a lifting point- needless to say the single piece of wood didn't hold the 500lb piano and it completely separated from the hinge, splintering the end of the lid into numerous pieces (some of which were missing). I asked the movers if they had the pieces on hand, so I could get it repaired and they answered with "we don't know where this happened, so we don't have the pieces". Strike two. I'd asked one of the guys to call a manager, to see if we could have the cost of repairs deducted from the total cost of the move and was offered "30$ off your bill, but we're unable to do anything more than that." I told them I'd be happy to pay the full expense, and we'll handle the repairs of the piano on the back end. We went back and forth several times via phone and email over the next month. They'd stated that if we provided 3 different quotes for repair, they'd take the cheapest and make sure we're taken care of. SEVEN MONTHS LATER- we follow up with them, and inform the Fort Wayne office that this is still unresolved. My wife schedules a phone call with a representative- and he proceeds to contradict EVERYTHING we were told back in March about the quotes for repair, and what they're willing to do to rectify this situation for us. Strike three, folks. Since when did doing the 'right thing' become such a chore? Your business came to my house to see what they'd be responsible for moving, and you sent three individuals who had never moved a piano before. We've gone above and beyond here, and have tried to let them make this right for us- but it's like pulling teeth with these people. 0/10, do not use. And contrary to my previous 'bad experiences with businesses', I will not stop with this review; instead I'll make it my mission to ensure no one I know uses this business again. Period. read more

Don't Use Two Men and a Truck. My mother and father in law hired these clowns to move 9 pieces of furniture. They completely dropped two of the items off the truck. Refrigerator they said "looks ok". It was a 4 Ft drop! The older man was trying to move the fridge himself and just dropped it. The younger kid tried to carry a 7 drawer dresser by himself, again dropped off the truck. If there are two people why are they not working together and preventing people's valuables from falling off the trucks. Let's do some math, 22% chance there going to drop your items off the truck. Negligence. Awful! Awful! Awful! You shouldn't need insurance to cover damage for your employees from dropping stuff off trucks. 2 out of 9 items are completely destroyed. read more

On the day of the move they claim they misquoted the job and refused to do the move unless I paid the increased price, an extra $2,000. Left me hanging and I had to get out of the house because I had sold it. I have moved many times in my life include over seas. This is the worst experience ever. Unreliable and unprofessional. Worse moving experience ever! When my husband scheduled the appointment for a rep to come to our home to give us a quote he requested they call 15 minutes prior to their arrival so he could leave work to meet them. That didn't happen, annoyance but no big deal. Matt looked around at everything we had, went into every room including the garage and the storage shed. He estimated 9500 lbs. I asked him once he gave us our quote what were the chances of the price changing once it was all loaded and weighed. He said the quote could vary $300 or $400 give or take. The day of the move 2 movers show up and as they begin loading they start saying they are not sure the truck is going to hold everything and even if it could it would be overweight. They were right, they couldn't get everything on the truck and told us we would have to figure another way to get our things moved to PA. After they left they went and weighed the truck and called us to say it was overweight and they weren't sure what would need to be done. They said their boss (Matt) suggested that they would have to unload until they reached the proper weight and we would just have to rent a trailer or something to move that stuff. WTH? Turned out that Matt had missed the estimate by 2000 lbs. We are not sure we believe this and even though we have asked multiple times to see the weigh ticket we have never received those. The next morning my husband spoke with the office and their only suggestion to solve the problem was they would take a 2nd truck and charge us an additional $800. As we didn't have much choice we had to do this. We ended up having to leave some of our property behind b/c they hadn't been able to fit it on the truck and we didn't have room in our personal vehicles for everything. We hired a moving company so THEY could move our stuff! The day our stuff we to be delivered to PA we were told to expect them between 8 and 9:30. At 9:20 we recd a phone call saying they would be here by noon. When they finally arrived the 2 movers were bickering. It was obvious that one of the guys did not want to be there and certainly didn't want to move our items into our home. My 50+ yr old husband ended up having to assist in unloading the trucks b/c the one guy kept whining about how he needed to get on the road b/c his boss wouldn't pay for him to stay another night in a hotel and USDOT wouldn't allow him to drive/work past a certain time. They used a 2-wheeler to bring boxes into the home which I was constantly worrying was going to scratch our hardwood floors. It didn't. However, it did cut the vinyl flooring in the kitchen area. We took out extra insurance but I doubt it will cover that. It is a good thing we took this extra insurance though b/c as they unloaded my husband limited edition signed ducks unlimited prints that had all gotten wet! When I asked how that could happen I was told that it was normal for water to get INSIDE of the moving trucks. How is that normal? Who would allow a moving company to move their belongings if they knew the trucks leaked??? We haven't filed the insurance yet but we will be soon. Oh and we had a floor lamp that was missing the shades from it. On of the guys says "oh I saw those in the warehouse". So apparently when they unloaded stuff to reload to the 2nd truck not everything made it in! They also broke a leg off of our smoker. We haven't unpacked everything yet so we are not sure what else may be damaged or didn't even make it into the truck. Needless to say we will NEVER use this company again and would NEVER recommend them to anyone! Horrible experience with this company! Their truck leaked grease on the driveway, then the movers tracked it throughout the house. Their driver couldn't back down our driveway & made big ruts in the yard. I heard 3 out of the 6 movers say it was only their 2nd day on the job. They did not secure a heavy safe in the truck which fell on top of my desk & smashed it. One mover asked me for coffee....with cream & sugar I might add!!! One of the movers hardly worked the entire day. I called into their office 3 times during the move and asked to talk with management. All of their management was out of town. The next day after the move, we noticed that one of the movers had stolen a camera out of a case. We filed a police report, but Two Men and a Truck basically told us we had no proof. They offered us a small reimbursement for the broken desk, reimbursement for the carpet cleaning and rutted yard, but that's been a month ago.....I guess the check is in the mail. I also asked one of the managers if I could speak to the owner and was told that I would never be able to speak with him. I do not recommend using this moving company! read more

Recently moved using Two Men and a Truck Fort Wayne and was displeased with customer service by manager. The week prior to my move I checked the weather for my move date and snow and ice were coming in. I called and asked if they cancel or delay due to weather conditions and they told me "NO WE DO NOT CANCEL". The move date comes and my window of time was 1pm to 3pm. They called me at 1pm and said office did not route their stops properly and would be lucky if they got to me by 4pm. At 7pm they still had yet to arrive. My mover was great with communicating to me what their status but at the end of the day had to reschedule. When rescheduling and move completed I asked that the manager please call me regarding the circumstances and did not hear anything! My time was wasted for a whole day waiting around then ending up rescheduling when I was guaranteed no cancellations and you can't even call to apologize???? read more
