Extremely disappointed in the moving experience and customer service. My belongings sustained approximately $3,000 in damage which I attempted to report several days after my move. I have been ignored by their claims department after three months of calling and asking for help. I've been promised calls back time and time again and never got one. Today when I called again, I was finally told my claim was denied because too much time has passed. I'm not sure why I wasn't notified that it had been reviewed. I was offered a good-faith payment of $300, which is unfortunately just a fraction of what I spent replacing my damaged items. The movers were unprofessional the day of as well -- they charged me incorrectly, stood around texting half the time to drag out the clock, and then asked me if I use recreational drugs. I hate to be that person writing a nasty review, but I am extremely disappointed with their service all around and I hope this helps keep others from having the same experience that I did. My one-bedroom move went over budget, damaged family heirlooms and caused me to have to replace my entire bed and mattress... and the company's customer service chose to ignore me and hope I went away instead of helping me resolve this. Move that should have taken 3 hours took 6. They moved one single box at a time. No dollies were used. They texted on their cells, took calls from their girlfriends, and leaned on the truck more than they moved my stuff. Literally could not have gone slower if they tried. They destroyed a bench, my dryer, and a tv. Nothing was done. The company sent out a second crew for one hour to help. 2 trainees and a guy with a broken arm who couldn't lift. So... No extra help and they spent more time talking than helping. It's a sham. When I complained, was told they did the job properly. They even said I must have been happy because I tipped the movers. I tip my servers even if the food is bad,and I tip the movers no matter what. It's what you should do. Avoid this moving company at all costs. Unless money is no object and you don't care if your stuff arrives in the same condition as when it left. They were rude in every aspect and if it weren't for the fact that I had to get my stuff moved that day I would have fired them on the spot. Experience was terrible the only good thing about them is they show up on time. They took 4 and 1/2 hours getting evrything we needed out of the house. An hour and a half on the refregerator alone, which they broke by the way. They alos didnt cover my mattress and it was raining, after asking me if i wanted to and extra 8 dollars for the covers. When we finally get everything out, on our was to our new house we followed them and they ran a red light . We get to the new house and they sat in the truck for 15 minutes befor they began to offload anything. Get everything into the new house and we find out they broke an entertainment center, 2 bed post, and a couch. 8 hours and 800 dollars waisted i would not recommend them to anyone who wants help relocating. I have used many movers in my days. The online and telephone service is terrific. They are professional, quick and streamlined. Well oiled machine here folks. They immediately send out email confirmation and show up on time. Their movers are dress professionally, courteous and quick and not slow walking. You never think about being charged hourly because they are moving such a fast pace and carefully. I am using them again next week just to move heavier things around the home, because I felt lazy. They have a one hour minimum that starts when they begin travel. Billed in 15 minute increment's. For a few hundred bucks I save my back and know their team will get the job done right and professionally! Worth every penny. I have never been happier with a moving service. Do yourself a favor and choose another mover! The great "reviews" they have are because they pressure customers into reviewing while the movers are still there...the same movers who drag out the clock for billing and damage belongings. Additionally, their customer service is nice/nasty. They tell you they're going to look into your issues, damages, and claims, only to then, again, drag out the clock until the point where you're no longer able to file a claim. If anything, the experience with this company is at least consistent in how horrible it was at all level. read more

So many reasons for one star. I'll start at the beginning. I was recently quoted an estimated price based on our move across town. I was told it may be smarter to rent two trucks as they should finish around 12-1pm. In reality, the trucks did not finish until 4pm - so we were charged $800 more than I was told to expect over the phone. I would not have chosen two trucks if I had known the extra cost would be so high. Secondly, there were several items damaged during the move. My son's dresser was completely destroyed. The movers said absolutely nothing about the damage, but I found out within an hour of them leaving. There were also two large toy shelves in the playroom that are barely staying together. This was all caused by the movers picking up these heavy items by their tops instead of supporting the weight from below as well. I didn't bother mentioning the two shelves, but I expected to be paid for the dresser. In an email from Two Men and a Truck, I was told that their policy was to "compensate actual cash value for an item that is damaged if it is deeded a result of our services." The dresser cost $220. And it will cost the same amount to replace. I was told I would receive $120 because that is the price for the same dresser on ebay that is cracked and missing pieces. My dresser, however was barely two years old and in perfect condition before the move. In short - they do not care about taking care of your furniture. They didn't protect our floors. And their customer service is pathetic. We will never recommend Two Men and a Truck to anyone. Save your money and look somewhere else. read more

The guys saw the device as a way to get out of doing the move. When I showed them what needed moving they were obviously not happy with the job. The moving company I used moved everything in 1 hour 15 minutes and didn't box ANYTHING. when I checked other moving companies none of them cared if anything was boxed. But you don't have to take my word for your poor service, just look at all your 1 star reviews you used to be a good company but now you're terrible. I had Two Men and a Truck move me from my 4 BR, 3 Bath home in October of 2021. Some of the things that were to be included on the truck were left behind. My things were moved into a locked storage unit as I watched. About four months later I went to my storage unit to remove a TV. Sadly, I could not find anything that matched. TV, no electrical cord! Headboards, no footboard! My chinaware still has not been located!I found one of my TVs just thrown into a box with no remote, electrical cord or legs in the box. I could not find anything that made sense with the way they packed and stored my things. I called the manager as soon as I discovered this, and it took him three days to return my phone call even with repeated phone calls. (Once, I called and the receptionist told me that all of them were on the floors or other lines taking care of claims and complaints. No surprise here!!!!) When I finally did speak to a manager quite frankly he was very rude. I spent over $3200 to have my furniture packed irrationally and thrown in a storage unit as if I were playing some sort of sick game of hide-go-seek with them. On the phone I asked the manager to purchase the TV stand, cable cord, and remote for my TV because they were not in the box with the TV. He says to me that's the way it's supposed to be boxed to prevent scratching the TV. (I paid them to pack my appliances and all related items to keep from scratching them, and they did not do that) I wonder how Samsung and all other TV brands have figured out packaging TVs in boxes along with remotes, TV cords and legs without a scratch. That shouldn't be too hard if you are a professional!! Anyone heard of bubble wrap! I have had to repurchase things that I have in storage all because they did a horrible job packing and storing my things. So, if you want a ridiculously overpriced company that is very careless about the packing, moving, and storage of your furniture, rude management, and difficulty finding your things then this is the moving company for you. Worst moving experience of my life. The staff was unprofessional, unprepared, and ended up just dumping all of my belongings outside of my house. I was informed the employees would have the tools to take apart a simple bed - which they did not - so after yelling profanities at my furniture for over 45 minutes they let me know the didn't have the correct tools. I then went to the closest hardware store to get the correct tools and while I was gone the employees did not move ANYTHING into the truck. This led to an extra hour being added to my final bill. It's with a heavy heart that I write this review, because my family and I have used Two Men and a Truck before without incident, but I feel like their behavior during a PANDEMIC was unacceptable and reckless. My mother is a 66 year old woman, who has pre-existing conditions and has not yet been vaccinated. She has been quarantined and does not take unnecessary risks. Last week, she booked Two Men and a Truck for a 10 hour job. She booked 4 men and two trucks. At first, they sent a team of 3 young guys...they're not sending fully grown adults. One of the Boys had literally JUST had surgery on his wrist the day before and was supposed to be off work, so really they sent just two men and a supervisor. From the very beginning, the workers refused to wear masks despite my mom asking them to OVER TEN TIMES, consistently throughout the day. They said they needed to use their teeth to cut the packing tape so we provided numerous pairs of scissors. At one point, more guys arrived to help but left after being asked to put on their masks and disrespectfully refusing. Not only did they refuse and leave, but they were very rude to my mom (I stepped out to grab more boxes and wasn't there to defend her). We then called the manager . Apparently, Two Men and a Truck does not and will not require their workers to wear masks in other people's homes IN A PANDEMIC. Needless to say, the job took three hours longer than expected. Now, 3 days later, my mom has symptoms and is unwell. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BOOKING THEM IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY! BECAUSE THEY DO NOT CARE! I had no one to help move my heavy furniture and have used Two Men And A Truck in the past in a different city. Jacob and Alex helped me move (I made 4-5 trips in my car the day before with valuables and small items that I wanted to move myself). They moved all the furniture. They overquoted, so I ended up paying less! I'd also like to mention they moved everything in the rain and everything was wrapped/a bunch of prep work was done before they even attempted to move stuff. In July 2015, I hired and paid Two Men and a Truck (TMAAT) to move me from Birmingham to Huntsville. The two young men who did the work, Harper & Stanley, were professional, friendly and hardworking. When preparing to move my less-than-three-year old, 42 inch TV, Stanley inadvertently pulled the cord out of the back of the TV unit instead of unplugging it from the socket in the wall. As a result, when the TV arrived In Huntsville it would not power on. A Damage Report was filed with the company on 7/28/15. Nick, a manager, called me on 7/28 or 7/29 to apologize for the problem and assure me they would take care of it. Then I heard nothing from his office for the next 4-5 days. When I followed up with Nick in writing he stated he was having difficulty locating a repair shop that would come to my Huntsville home. He then asked me to take the TV to one of two repair shops. I told him it was TMAAT's responsibility to get the TV to a repairman- not mine - AND it was too heavy for me to carry anyway. The TV was finally picked up on Friday, 8/7 (after more calls from me). I don't know where it was taken or when it will be returned. I haven't heard anything else since that time. I gave TMAAT two weeks to fix a problem they created. They dropped the ball. Two men and a truck we use to move my daughter out from her two-story apartment to a storage unit and they estimated the cost to be around $250 but We were billed $600...keep in mind they charge extra on Saturdays also a hidden fee is they charge from the time they leave their office to the location and back so they sandbag an extra $150 just for drive time. Katie was very helpful and responsive in scheduling my packing and move. On packing day, three guys came out and did a good job packing. The next morning the same three guys came for the move and were on time. After some loading of the truck, one of the movers started vomiting a lot. The other movers gave him a Gatorade and he said he couldn't taste it, that it tasted like water. I felt sorry for this kid but he had touched everything in my house and had been in the truck with the two other guys, so the other movers requested a new crew to come finish. They were told that no one else was available. The sick kid told me that he had been vomiting before he went to work. I asked him if they had done any screening of any kind for COVID when he got to work, and he said no. Obviously the didn't because had he been asked if he was feeling ill he would have said yes. The two other movers confirmed that their company had not been doing any COVID screening whatsoever when the movers got to work. They said they used to do it, but had not done it in months. I talked to the manager, Nick, about the situation. I told him they should have been screening movers before they go to peoples houses and touch everything in their house. He told me that they do, obviously a lie. With only two movers they didn't have the time or energy to get everything. The company said they didn't didn't have another person they could send out to help. The remaining two workers were awesome and did the best they could, but now I am left with having to hire another moving company to finish the move. I asked Nick what they planned to do to disinfect my house since they had negligently let someone, who apparently have COVID, go work. He claimed that the kid had already had a COVID test after he left my house and that it was negative. Well, Nick had lied to me already once so I couldn't take his word for it. Also, the rapid test is not truly accurate anyway. Nick refused to offer to disinfect my house and refused to reduce my bill. The movers did what they could for me on the bill by marking down two hours of down time and saving me charges for two hours of the day long ordeal. But they had to take a lot of breaks because they were short handed. When arriving at my house for the pack and for the move they were not wearing masks or gloves. Once the kid became sick I insisted that we all wear masks from then and the two movers had masks and wore them the remainder of the day. We had already moved everything in the house that could fit in our large SUV and we literally had 10 items that we needed them to move. They purposely send a guy that could barely lift the furniture. It took 3.5 hours and we were charged $450, this was after they stopped the time to call a manager to assist the final item because the guy couldn't carry it. Prior to calling the manager the first associate asked my husband to assist him with lifting the furniture and admitted to the both of us that there was NO WAY it should have taken as long as it did. I had always heard good things about this company but it seems they've changed, so I want to save someone else the trouble I've had. I moved In August from a 3br to a smaller 2br house. The 2 guys were on time & friendly but that's as far as it goes. The furniture was handled very roughly and many pieces are now loose, scratched & wobbly. Going into my new home was even worse, they paid no attention to where boxes were supposed to go & put extremely heavy boxes on light boxes making it extremely hard for me to move them & unpack. Also scratched newly done hardwood floors, walls & broke 1 window ( which they did repair). As I unpacked I realized that an antique leaded glass window that I specifically asked for a box for was missing, it's one of a kind and has a lot of sentimental value. Broke my lamp, put marks all over my walls, left sweat stains all over my oatmeal colored couch, didn't put things where I asked, ripped the velvet off my baby grand piano, but most of all, broke things that are irreplaceable. Negligent! Two Men & A Truck moved me into my new house on May 27, 2015 Before the move was complete the guy in-charge of the move, Chandler went over the paperwork with me about 30 minutes before everything was completed He had me to check off on this checklist saying everything was complete and there wasn't any damages, which I did not have an opportunity to look at the furniture throughout the house at that point. I went to take a look in the master bedroom on the main level and I noticed there was a wide scratch on the armoire. When I saw the scratch, I immediately evaluated the other sides of the armoire. My findings there was a chunk of wood missing from the right side as well and an even larger chunk from the left side. Immediately I got Chandler to show him the damages (he was cleaning off the back of the truck). He came in and took a look and immediately said they did not do it. I expressed to him, well the last time I saw it, it wasn't damaged. He then expressed to me that it must have happened when it was stored, and I told him "you were on the crew that put it in storage" (I used Two Men & A Truck to move everything to storage which was over $2,200.00). After that he simply replied, "well, we didn't do it". On May 28, 2015, I called to speak with someone about the issue. I was told that Nicholas would be calling me back about the issue. Nicholas was very slow in returning my phone call. I had to call him continuously until finally they got him to the phone. He told me that he could come out the morning of June 7, 2015. He came out as he said on June 7, 2015, took a look at the damages and said he would get a company by the name of Cullman Furniture Repair to come out and repair the armoire. He said they would contact me before the week is out, if not they would give me a call no later than Wednesday, June 17, 2015. I did not hear from Cullman Furniture Repair until June 23, 2015. The young lady stated that she wanted to put me on their schedule. At this point I was extremely aggravated by the negligence and disregard by two men and a truck. When they found out on June 23, 2015 that I was going to take recourse, that's when they made contact with Cullman Furniture Repair. Not once was I asked how could they make it right. Not once did anyone apologize. He just "told me" they would send a furniture repair company out, which I was not pleased with. They did a great job packing everything up without breaking anything (my dad's greatest fear) and then did an even better job unloading everything into our house, making sure things were placed where we wanted them. They intentionally run the clock longer so they can make more money and then when I said something about long it was taking they got an attitude. In previous times I have used another office of two men and truck or other places they would wrap everything in blankets but they didn't do much of that this time so my furniture now how way more scratches. I would have taken them all day if they would wrapped everything like they were supposed to. The reason I got 3 guys is so it would go faster, so much for that idea. I hired the company to move items from Birmingham to West Alabama, with a stop at a climate-controlled mini-storage in Tuscaloosa. I explained up front that all seven pieces of furniture to be moved were family antiques. Imagine my horror when six of the seven arrived damaged! I'm sad to say I have to echo the poor reviews that others have written based on their unfortunate experience. The drivers are supposed to call when they're on the way to the location. They did not. They just simply showed up. No big deal I suppose. I had done a good majority of the work already having packed things into boxes and making multiple runs in my car to my new house to expedite the process. What I didn't take I put into a nice pile in the garage. We walked through the house and I very clearly pointed out everything that needed to be taken. While initially there was some semblance of care being taken, that pretty quickly degenerated. Rather than carefully carry things or put them on carts and dollies, items were picked up by hand - which resulted in my desk being dented when one mover swung it into a beam in my garage. Boxes clearly marked "fragile" with irreplaceable art created by a family member were picked up and slung over a shoulder rather than carefully wheeled to the truck. Halfway through packing I again asked if they knew what needed to be taken and clearly pointed out all the things in the garage that needed to be loaded. Guess what? They left them behind. On arrival to my new house, things continued to spiral downward. They cracked an entry-way tile, they broke the side of my heavy wood armoire, then dented a doorjamb. They couldn't negotiate a doorway with my couch (which happens, I understand) but rather than stopping on the first try and reassessing for a new plan, they tried to force it 3 more times, scratching the wall, scraping paint and wood off the doorjamb which clearly is not also good for the back of a couch. I was asked where I wanted the large furniture items, but all the boxes were summarily dumped in the garage without inquiring where to put them - even though they were clearly marked and labelled. I was so disgusted at this point I just wanted them out. They then had the opportunity for redemption - I asked them to go back to the house to retrieve a bulky item that didn't fit the first time. Did they make things right and pick up the leftover items that they left? Nope. Just left them there. I paid for an extra hour so they could bring a tv and 2 rugs. In a huge truck. Are you kidding me?!?!? My hope is that they will refund me that last hour. It's pretty ridiculous. I'm glad other people had good experiences but mine was a disaster. Stockman, Reed & Young were wonderful gentleman and hard workers! I was scheduled for an 8am on a Saturday. I received a call at 7:45am informing me they were pulling out of their warehouse (yay!) and they arrived at 8am on the dot. I moved from a condo with two flights of stairs and those boys did not stop. They handled my antique (and very heavy) furniture without a peep of complaining OR any damages. My 2BR move (from a 2 story condo) to a SF home 4 miles away was completed in 3.5 hours. The rate was less than other companies in the past with exceptional service. I wish I could give them NO STARS!!! I would strongly suggest that you NEVER USE two men and a truck for your moving needs!!! While the guys that did our move did a fair job, although they did damage some items, their office people, especially their so called operations manager, Jerod Mccombs, are a whole different story! They are incompetent and unprofessional. Mccombs is rude to customers and not the least bit interested in correcting the company's mistakes or in customer satisfaction. Unfortunately many locations are franchised and the parent company apparently HAS LITTLE OR NO CONTROL over the franchise holders. When I could not get any satisfaction locally, I contacted the parent company to request assistance only to be told that from their past experience with this particular franchise, we could expect NO SATISFACTION! I really can't understand how they can have no control over their franchise holders, but that's basically what they indicated. I am specifically referring to the Birmingham, AL franchise, owned by Richard Mcbee, but since the parent company either does not screen the franchise applicants or has such a weak franchise agreement that they cannot insist on them upholding their company satisfaction promises and goals, I would suggest that all locations of two men and a truck be boycotted!!! I expect to be moving again in six to twelve months and I WILL NOT be calling two men and a truck for that move!!! They will not move you unless you pay their "estimated cost" IN FULL, UP FRONT! No honest business would request this!!! Never pay over half for any services to be rendered!!! After the move was completed, they gave us, in writing, the amount of refund they owed us, however, when the check came it was for $70.00 less than what they wrote IN THE CONTRACT!!! There was NO EXPLANATION as to why it was less than what they had given us in writing as the refund amount. Upon calling to find out when we would get the $70.00 they still owed us, they said they had made a computation error when giving the first number and we got the correct amount. No other explanation was given. Upon requesting to talk to the manager, some guy came on the phone and said "what do you want", did not identify himself and in the ensuing conversation was so rude and condescending to the point that I became so frustrated and angered that I hung up on him. After I had time to calm down I called back and requested his name from the woman who had assisted me previously and specifically told her I DID NOT WANT TO TALK TO HIM AGAIN, just wanted his name, but she turned the call over to him anyway. He was still rude and not interested in resolving the problem to MY SATISFACTION, which was to simply pay me the amount they originally said they owed me. Both the local franchise and the parent company try to hide behind so-called "Government regulated fees" that they have to pay. That of course has nothing to do with them paying IN FULL the total they said they would refund. Apparently they think that customers are so stupid that they will fall for the lame "blame it on a vague third party" trick. Maybe some do, but not me. I know a smoke screen when I see it! To sum it up, their business office and management is incompetent and rude. They do not uphold the parent company's mission and core standards. They have NO INTEREST in satisfying the customer in spite of the fact that the company website says: The mission of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is to continuously strive to exceed our customers' expectations in value and high standard of satisfaction. (THEY FAILED AT THIS ONE) Core purpose We strive to be a role model in our industry. This purpose is reflected in everything we do. (THEY ARE A ROLE MODEL.... OF HOW NOT TO TREAT CUSTOMERS!!!) And also supposedly upholds what they call the Grandma Rule: THE GRANDMA RULE® To treat everyone the way you would want your Grandma to be treated. This rule means we treat everyone the way you would want your grandmother to be treated - with care and respect. Alth All of our franchises are dedicated to every detail involved in a move. Through every step we keep THE GRANDMA RULE® in mind and treat your possessions as they were our own - or our Grandma's. (I HOPE THEY WOULD PAY THEIR GRANDMA THE MONEY THEY OWE HER, BUT MAYBE NOT!) Integrity To always conduct oneself with honesty and fairness They did not show anything even closely resembling ANY OF the above, even after having it pointed out to them that it's on the company website. The parent company apparently has no control or recourse with franchise holders who do not uphold their mission or core values. If they screw you, you're just out of luck except to tell everyone you know not to do business with them and post it on every review site you can!!! read more
