Horrible experience. 100% would not recommend !!…read more They did not properly wrap my stuff and caused damage but didn't want to take responsibility for it after and tried to push liability. Took a huge L. Stay away unless you're ok with risking taking high risk for their negligence.

I experienced the worst move ever with this company. Also, they have refused, short of a lawsuit,…read moreto resolve the issues that resulted in my rating. We moved on March 9, 2022. During the move floors were unprotected and gouged and scratched and walls were also scratched and gouged. A 3 piece wall unit was ripped apart without the connecting bolts removed. In addition, 2 of the 6 glass doors were broken. A dryer and freezer were both damaged and the freezer stopped working. Parts were left anywhere. For example, 2 futons were taken apart. At the new house futon parts were found in the garage, some in the kitchen and others in the basement. Shelves to a bookcase were not found. Trash was left behind in our yard after they left. This is not a comprehensive list, just the major highlights. I filed a claim, and almost 4 months later here are the results. The damages to floors and walls cost over $1600 to fix. They offer $0 to repair. The bookcase cost $1100 30 years ago, and $7000 to replicate. They offer $850. The freezer reimbursement offer was $60. I elected $10,000 insurance, but you see the results of my claim submission. Here is Moving Ahead's last reply to me: If you still do not find our current offer to be acceptable, the next step would be to begin the arbitration procedure, as outlined in the documentation you have already received. If you have any questions regarding this process, I would be happy to assist in any way possible.. Thank you, Steven Mutter General Manager T: (513) 591-9818 movingaheadservices.com The character of any company is evident in how they respond when they make a mistake. You judge for yourself. My advice, buyer be very aware with Moving Ahead!

I have hired Affordable Movers for two jobs and and because of the final results, give them my…read morehighest recommendation. The first job was moving a very heavy treadmill from our second floor in our home to the basement. Will was very knowledgeable in understanding how the treadmill disassembled including the electronics panel. He and his partner had the treadmill disassembled, moved very carefully, and reassembled in a very short amount of time. It was impressive to see how both of them worked on the project. The second moved was the most impressive. It involved moving five pallets loads of bankers boxes, 150 in all at 50 lbs. each, from the warehouse where I had them stored to the garage in our home about 5 miles away. They had all the bankers boxes loaded onto the moving van, delivered to our home, and unpacked very neatly according to my instructions, in under two hours! Will, who is very personable, was again the lead person on this move. He and Desmond worked quickly and efficiently getting the job done, in what I considered, a record amount of time. Frank, the owner, only wants to do his best for you. His move teams reflected the same great attitude. I have to say, Affordable Movers exceeded my expectations in every way. They would be my only choice in any future moves and the only moving company I would recommend to my friends. David Z

I normally don't leave reviews, but this experience with Affordable Movers needs to be documented…read more My parents were originally quoted $1,300 to move a full three-bedroom apartment into a two-bedroom. Before moving day, they actually reduced the scope significantly--giving away an entire bedroom set and a sectional--so the job was smaller than what was originally quoted. Despite that, the price remained the same. On top of that, we handled a major portion of the work ourselves. My parents have a large amount of clothing, and we moved all of it before the movers even arrived to make things easier and more efficient. So again, they were doing less work than expected for the same price. The real issue, though, is the condition of what they did move. We took extra time to carefully pack fragile items like dishes to prevent damage. Despite that, a significant number of items still came back broken--not just one or two pieces, but enough to clearly show a lack of care. Even worse, there are items that are now completely missing, including a step ladder and framed pictures. The most upsetting part is the damage to my mother's doll cabinet and collection. She has spent 35-40 years collecting these dolls, and the cabinet that housed them was returned damaged and missing parts to the point where it cannot even be properly reassembled. This isn't just furniture--it's something with real sentimental value, and it was handled carelessly. They also promised to reassemble certain items, including shelving, but failed to do so. Based on the missing parts, it seems likely they couldn't complete it and chose not to address it. To make matters worse, multiple attempts to contact the company afterward have gone unanswered. No follow-up, no accountability, no effort to resolve the situation. This was a smaller, easier move than originally quoted, yet it resulted in broken items, missing belongings, incomplete work, and zero communication afterward. Those google reviews are suspicious to say the least.

I'm a 20 year military spouse with over 6 moves under my belt and I felt it was extremely important…read morethat other families planning their long distance PPM (previously called DITY) moves (or corporate, personal moves - whether military or not) to be aware that College Hunks employees are not trained at all to pack boxes appropriately or load up a moving truck to limit damage as it travels. In addition, the job came in almost 3x the quoted price AND we received zero customer support or communication from the franchise ownership when we experienced problems (read below for details). The negative vibes started when their team arrived the morning of our move with only 2 people and no packing paper, no boxes, no markers for labeling, etc. Although the pack out had been confirmed with College Hunks' scheduler and main POC (his name was Alexander - he oozes confidence but he is not accurate, effective or helpful in a negative situation) two days prior the team didn't get the memo and thought they were just there to load a truck (it was supposed to be a pack out and load job). We had completed a detailed on-site meeting/walk thru with their scheduler, Alexander, and discussed picture boxes, wardrobe boxes, etc. so it wasn't that the company had never laid eyes on the job. The lead packer, Ethan, did get on the phone when I told him the actual scope and he quickly got supplies and 2 more people to our site, which was great, but it went downhill from there. If that had been the only issue I would not be leaving this long winded negative review. When we got to our destination we unpacked box after box after box with ZERO packing paper. Most items had not been wrapped or protected at all. All they did was take drawers and shelves of items and throw them into a cardboard box and seal it up. I had many damaged and broken glass, wood and ceramic items on the other end. I will acknowledge there was 1 packer, named Ethan, that did use packing paper and attempted to label boxes (after he borrowed a marker from us and after we asked them to label). He was the packer in our line of sight most of the day so we had no idea the others were not packing correctly or labeling anything. Ethan was great and had a good attitude all day - if all of their employees behaved like Ethan it would have been a very different move. Movers should know this but when you pack a truck for a long distance move and the boxes have no packing paper or internal support (and they're only 1/2 - 3/4 full) they all start to collapse and crush down from weight above as the truck drives and bounces. This is why we had so much damage. None of our boxes were labeled and the final straw was their cheap packing tape wasn't sticking to the boxes so as the movers at the destination site picked up boxes they were falling apart and collapsing on them. Items were falling out onto the ground as they tried to move stuff inside. I reached out to Alexander several times during the pack out, and also while we were unloading, with photos and expressed our disappointment and concerns and he assured me that the franchise owner would reach out within 24-48 hours to discuss what happened. Well, it's been over 2 weeks and crickets - not a single text, call or email. So it's clear their upper management really doesn't care about customer service. They got their 3x money and with job over we don't matter to them anymore. Take this review as a beware - they look great at face value but their team is not trained, equipped or supported by upper management.

It's taken time for me to post this due to embarrassment…read more First let me say that I take full responsibility for what I didn't do. But to the two movers who ACCIDENTALLY left my brand new vacuum cleaner and many other items on the truck that I was too weak to come out and look in, you, God and I know what you did. I hope this disturbs your peace. As a repeat customer, I trusted where I shouldn't. So this disabled, single mother will neither recommend not utilize your company again. Do better.
