They forced me into a cancellation just to get my money without doing any work. About 8 months ago, I signed up for their service, chose a date, and provided my bank information. I was told it was only needed as a backup in case anything happened. At the time, I was in a tough situation and needed to move quickly. On the scheduled move day--a Friday--my job had an unexpected delay with my paycheck, and I wouldn't be paid until Monday. That had never happened to me before. I thought everything would be okay since they already had my bank information. I called them right away, explained the situation, and asked if they could simply withdraw the payment from my account, since by the time it processed, the money would be there. They refused. Instead, they said I had to pay with a debit or credit card that same day or cancel--and if I canceled, I'd be charged a cancellation fee. I was shocked. Given my situation, I was practically begging them to just use the bank information they already had. I even spoke with a manager, who told me I had to cancel and that they would charge my bank account for the cancellation. That made no sense to me--they could use my bank account to charge a cancellation fee, but not for the actual service? Then Monday came--and they didn't take the cancellation payment. Weeks went by, and I assumed at that point they would send me a bill. Instead, without any notice, they suddenly withdrew the money--right when I was again just days away from payday. I was already living paycheck to paycheck, and this pushed my account into the negative and caused overdraft fees. I called every number I could find for Two Men and a Truck to try to resolve this, but no one was able to help me. I don't expect charity. But everyone goes through hard times, and if a company already has your bank information and plans to charge you anyway, why not work with the customer instead of putting them in a worse situation? To me, it felt like they just wanted to get paid without doing the work. The cancellation fee was just 160, and all of these months later it still bothers me. Thank God i'm in a much better place, and it's not about the amount, it's about the lack of care. I had heard for years about two men and a truck. I thought they were reputable people. But I was wrong. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Note that this business's reply admits failure to perform but does not explain the demand for $150 for doing nothing -- for work not done. Before they left I had to give them $150 cash. Reason stated for their breach is disputed, untrue and entirely subjective They do not deny or address the fact that they demanded and I had to pay them $150 for doing nothing. No matter what they say about me, what matters is that they demanded and took cash for doing nothing Even at the age of 80 I have learned to take insults and disparagement but $150 is a lot of money. Nothing given in writing and never told about a penalty. This payment they do not deny. My comments stand as a warning to others. I had no power to protect myself but perhaps my tale of insults and woe may help someone else. The most effective lesson is avoidance but for that you need to heed another's warning. They worked 2 hours unloading the truck but charged for 9 hours. The one in charge said he would get paid for the time he was there whether he worked or not. I was charged for the entire 9 hours at the weekend rate with a move on Wednesday. I never saw the invoice and didn't sign it. However, a photo copy was presented in court with my signature on it. read more

They came on time, is the only good thing that I can say about the experience. They were expensive. They were very inexperienced. They had no idea of the safest way to manage my furniture. I had to be on them every step of the way so that they didn't drag furniture across my new vinyl floor. The front of my 200 year old dresser was gouged. More gouges in desktop and bookshelf. Dragged my $4000 new mattress across the floor uncovered. "The cover ripped off" was the excuse. I would never hire them again. This move was so stressful already, and they made it worse. read more

Rebecca told M'aiq the movers would do all the packing for this one, and gave M'aiq an estimate from around $1,600-$1,800 for the move. But, the next day when the movers arrived, this one found out she had only given M'aiq that estimate because she listed that the customer would fill the boxes instead of the movers, which required this one to pay about $2,022, more than this one expected to, because the movers had already started. M'aiq will say the two movers Anton and Latrell were fast, friendly and helpful. This one's new house had a deck that was too narrow to fit M'aiq's safe. So, Anton helped this one disassemble part of the deck's railing, to get it through the front door. In summary, M'aiq would rate the two movers themselves a 4/5, for the above listed reasoning, and because the boxes were not labeled, making it difficult to find out which boxes had which items inside, this one still hasn't found his iPhone USB cable and wall charger. M'aiq's safe was also suffering from some chips off the "wood grain" finish. But, the receptionist received a 2/5, for incompetence. It would be a 1/5, but she was friendly. read more

Called about prices and the customer sales representatives were extremely rude on the phone when I had inquiries about their services. I don't know who they hire but it seems to be a joke to the people they hire. I work in customer service and I understand how it can speak volumes on how a company is ran. I helped my parents with their move over 2 days. It started off with the estimate being wrong and them insisting that we had to sign a new estimate even though they guarantee the price if they estimate incorrectly. We had a list of items they could not pack and that was OK, we were prepared to have them pack them and set the boxes aside and we would put them in our cars and hold them the week until they could take possession of their new home. Come to find out they would not even pack them. The first day packing they could not finish because they ran out of supplies. So instead of letting their supervisor know they would need more supplies to finish the packing on the day set aside for packing and to send more people and supplies they just left when the supplies ran out. Now if this was a management call or not I do not know. Come loading day they still had almost a 1/4 of the house to pack. Instead of splitting the crew to packing and loading the boxes already packed they all started loading. then as most of the boxes were loaded they started with the furniture, still no packing. Me and my dad finally mentioned that they had a lot of stuff in all the rooms that still needed to be packed and why weren't any of them working on it. At that point, they finally split off people to start packing. The list of items they would not pack continued to grow as the day went on. After the morning was gone, the company sent more people to help. Let me interject here that the actual movers (all but one) were really awesome. They did their jobs and did it well, but the company managers and general managers seemed to be what was getting in the way. After 13 hours the second and what was supposed to be the final day they are not done, they have misc. items in the house and about 1/2 the garage to finish and they tell me that they are leaving and cannot stay and I am to call the office at 8:00 am in the morning to find out what the resolution was to me. This is horrible because the new owners and the movers will be there at 9:00 am. When I call the office at 7:30 because I want to make sure there is ample time to fix the problem, the general manager answers the phone, he is rude and disrespectful to both me and my mom. He finally gets back to me after 8 am saying they are sending two people and a truck to get the rest of the stuff and be finished with the move. I meet them at the house and they show up with a minivan and then proceed to tell me that they cannot get up on a ladder get two small game tables off the high loft in the garage. So I had to grab the landscaper and me a 55-year-old got up there and handed the tables down to the landscaper so they could get the tables. End the end, they left a ladder, a dolly, two outdoor doormats, a sprayer, 3 outdoor standing lanterns (one which they broke and were supposed to be taken for repairs. They had told us they would remove the Frig from the kitchen and put it in the garage and they did not do that either. We will wait and see how the move in goes in a week and I will update our review. read more

They arrived early (which was good for me) and completed the job in a timely manner. So, this is in response to your comments on my complaint of your company beginning with point 1. 1. False: They arrived at 8:30 and left at 6:00. You charged 1700.00 at 179.00 per hour. 2. False: Your estimator Jamie Liebegott walked our house completely. The doors are normal doors. 3. False: Your men used tarp to come through the front door. We had Workers in the kitchen only. Not in their way at all. No cleaners. 4. False: The door was not removed to get the washer and dryer in. 5. False: The gym was moved by my son and husband. It was not disassembled. Your man had started and worked maybe 30 Min and I stopped him when he told me it would take another 2 hours. Again, this equipment was pointed out to your estimator. 6. False: My husband spoke to the manager the next day to explain our dissatisfaction and he told my husband that he saw where the charge was higher than it should be and that the company would in fact send us a refund on a portion of the bill. 7. Again, your person estimated the cost. You moved no boxes on furniture. The man worked slow and one of the men was new and he pretty much just walked around. 8. We are honest people and expected to be treated honestly by your company. This did not happen. I will call you. You have my address and phone number and have never tried to contact us. read more

I did call you directly, and you told me to file a police report and that you would not honor my claim for missing/stolen items. So what good is having full replacement cost insurance? Also, it has been 19 days since the damage to my furniture was reported to you. I have not heard back yet. Management is apparently unresponsive on multiple levels. Lastly, your attempt to intimidate me by publishing my name in your response will not work. Your crew stole from me. That is a fact. Why didn't you, the business owner who responded to my review, publish your name, including your last name? Only shady businesses hide the name of their manager. And this is no reflection on Two Men and A Truck corporate. I have moved with other Two Men and A Truck franchises with no problems. There is no rating very poor I got charge for them getting lost plus no one told me I'm paying to get back to wherever then I find there trucks not far from me where I moved they destroyed my wooded filing cabinet with all my personal paperwork what a night mare they didn't have a clue what they were doing on top of putting nicks in my dressers destroy some of my pictures along with scratching my floor never would I recommend them poor help now it took me hrs to make sure my personal papers were there on top the cost of my repairs not highly would I be recommended them give them a big 0 read more

Terrible. I called and said 3 bedroom house with 2 living rooms, dining room, breakfast area, treadmill, and stuff in the garage, plus 2 washers and dryers and a riding mower. Office person said 2 guys 9 hours. I asked for 3 guys. She said that would make it 6.5 - 7 hours. And they charged me for driving time. When they arrive they told me they were given another job after mine. My time got cut. Got to my house at 8:15 and they had to leave at 1. Only 2 hours for loading and 2 for unloading. And there was a rain delay, out of my slotted time. No washers or dryers or treadmill moved. 1 living room, 1 dining room. Not one box, when quoted for 70. The guys at the house tried. They moved the heavy stuff. Took apart the recliner sofa and left it apart. How does it go back together? I don't know. I rented a 28' uhaul to move the rest myself. This truck was way too big, but better safe. At $210 per hour, they should have reassembled sofa and bed frames. Not my fault that a newer employee didn't listen. When I booked them, I had a full day with 3 guys. 6 or 7 hours of moving time which could go more, turned into less than 4. I have sent business to these guys in the past. And I got the rip off. No time to hire other help. Customer service stinks. My back hurts, I'm tired and get to move my things again tomorrow. I will tell everyone I meet to look past these guys. read more

Your response is a lie. I gave you specifics and pictures and an inventory. Don't say I didn't give you specifics. And you did not give me free unpacking!!! Your guys unwrapped about 4-6 boxes of kitchen contents and placed it on the counter. It took 30 minutes. Everything else I had to do MYSELF because you did not even respond to my request to hire unpackers for the ENTIRE DAY! And you arrived 3.5 days early so the help I scheduled myself was not there. Had I not allowed you to unload truck early you could not use the truck for those days. But you no doubt were able to use the truck and get double billing instead of doing the right thing and crediting me for the unused portion of the move. Your response is offensive. And my last conversation with Deryk is that you would review the estimate as it clearly was way, way off. Yet I never have heard from Deryk now that you have your money. Do the right thing and charge me what the move should have cost not what you charged me because you thought you could get away with it! read more

If you need to move, do not use this company! The movers who came to the house did a good job of packing the truck. It seemed they were very organized. The estimate was for between 14-16 hours. They were also storing my property for 6 days and then bringing it to new home. I asked the movers before they left the house if they thought they would need to unload the truck and load it again and they said they did not have many moves scheduled, so 'hopefully' not. They also told me they had 6 trucks they used for moving. When they arrived at the new home I could see that the truck was loaded differently. It was actually a mess, looked like items were just thrown inside and closed the door. While they were moving items into the house I heard a loud bang inside the truck. One mover was in the truck, the other outside of it. They looked at each other and talked but never said anything to me. They suggested in order to save me money that we put all boxes in the garage and they would then bring furniture in. Tipped them well, and when I started going through boxes I found many items damaged. Full disclosure, I packed all of my boxes, and i have moved many times on my own. I have never had an issue with broken items. The damage did not amount to more than $100, but the GM said since they did not pack the box, they are not responsible. In my opinion, they only unloaded and loaded the truck back up to pad hours onto the move. The cost to me at the end of the move was 23 hours and $2600.00. What a rip off. You would be better off using a higher priced mover or do it yourself. This Ocala, fl franchise is awful. read more
