They are not the company they were five years ago, when some of their reviews were written. have moved seven times in the last 30 years. This was the worst move I have ever had. They did not wrap any of the furniture and drawers were swinging out from the body of the dressers while being carried. Nothing was protected. These guys knew nothing about how to protect furniture or do a professional move. They were simply two guys with a truck who picked up hourly work. The corker? We were told by the office staff that they would bag our clothes in large black trash bags with the hangers sticking out the top. The clothes would then be hung across the width of the van, making it unnecessary for us to pack or move clothes. Not only had these guys not been given those instructions, the had no bar across the width of the truck and told us that they don't move clothes Firemen's no longer uses retired firefighters as their movers.The men who moved us told us that they were simply two guys with a truck. Pot was obvious from moment one that they had no experience in household moving. In short, don't use Firemen's. Their advertising is deceptive, and the promises made by the advice staff are not kept. I should have been refunded at least half of what I paid them.

The truck that show up had Prestige Moving & Storage on it, but I'm guessing is owned by the same company. Two men did our move and we couldn't be happier. Both men immediately introduced themselves, did a walk-through with us and got to work. They explained that they have been in the business for over 20 years. It showed in their work. First Class! This would be a one star review if the owner didn't call me back a 2nd time…read more Booked a small job (5 items) and, of course, they have a minimum: 3hrs + truck rental = $309. Was suggested to me by the rep I first contacted that they could take unwanted items to Goodwill (or charity of my choice) with the "extra time" that wouldn't be used on such a small job. When I booked the job (with the owner!) he reiterated that option also. I also told them that I would have a big job coming up in the near future - thinking they'd be on their best behavior. The truck driver/mover showed up and immediately said he had time constraints (more jobs) and it was up to his discretion if he took any items to Goodwill. When he got some "push back" he said he called the office and got no answer. So: two lies. There were no other jobs that day for him. Also: he *did* call the office and got into an argument with the owners wife. I asked for the owner to call me to discuss. My interaction with Kevin was not what I expected. At one point I even said "do you care at all about what I'm saying or just waiting for me to finish so you can get off the phone?!?" No apology, no interest in what I was saying... The owner called me back after some time - seems he got the opportunity to speak to his wife and to talk one-on-one with the mover. His attitude had changed quite a bit. The fact that he didn't initially believe me and blew me off is really frustrating. What is ultimately most important is that he's not going to replace this employee with someone who cares (and is honest). I'm sure no one is surprised that the next job is going to another business. Also: I'm out of state. The other people involved are all local. They will be using word of mouth to let everyone they know about their experience with "Help U Move".
