Tried here today. A wonderful place of quiet ambience (@3pm on a Wed) to enjoy great food and beers galore. Enjoyed a fried chicken sandwich (recipe being a strong point for them) and my wife had the BBQ sandwich which was very good (but be careful if you don't like the heat of the sauce). We will be back as the waitress was exceptional in her service and friendliness. Reason I dropped a star is because the chicken breast was over fried. Didn't send it back but recommend you are specific that the freshly fried breast be golden brown. read more

The owner was kind and cared to respond, so I am updating the rating. And this was the first experience we have had here since moving to the area a few years ago. I ordered a grilled avocado and chicken salad and the lettuce was incredibly wilted. I picked out half of the lettuce and then I finally said something. I offered to use the same chicken and just asked for new lettuce. When it came back out there was grilled avocados - which made me realize that first salad didn't even have the avocados. The waitress said, 'there is a lot of green on the salad so sometimes they forget.' My lettuce on the second salad was just as bad. They didn't open a new bag of lettuce, forgot the avocados entirely on the first one and the waitress never offered to make the situation better. We paid full price and tipped her. That will be my last time at 2 Penguins and we are local regulars. The server seemed inconvenienced by their poor quality food and my husband's burger bun was stale, which he only told me afterwards. The service, quality and menu innovation is a one star at best. read more

Oh my goodness. This place has a Mediterranean panini that could make me cry it is so delicious. The bartender recommended adding chicken to it as it is a veggie item. But its really unnecessary. It's so delightful on its own. Comes with a stack of sliced pickles which is fabulous. Comes with a side, I get the streamed broccoli which is out of this works in its simplicity. Great French fries. Thick and crispy. Truly my favorite style of fry. But I always get the broccoli insured as its so outstanding. Nice beer selection. Enjoyable atmosphere. Easy to get right in to. Delicious Brussel sprouts. Average and ho hum nachos. But that is just fine. Once you try the panini you'll never eat anything else besides that again. Nice wait staff. Very mild speed in this facility. Wouldn't come here if I were in a hurry. Nice place to just sit down and enjoy without a hurry. It is closed on Sundays which I find to be a huge bummer for me as I work nearby and am always craving on Sunday. Great for the staff to get a nice day off. 2 penguins used to be an absolute favorite of mine. The food and drinks have always been good. I loved the live music on the patio when the weather is nice. Staff can use a little improvement but nothing that can't be worked on. However, on three separate occasions now, my girlfriends and I have been asked to leave well before the posted hours. For reference, Monday hours say open until 9 pm. We arrived at 7 pm, ordered drinks, appetizers, dinner and desserts. Around 8, we were told that the bar and kitchen were going to be closing down. Then, at about 8:15, the staff started to shut off the music and televisions. When approached by what I assume was the owner this time at 8:30 (again, posted closing hours are 9 pm) he was pretty rude to us. We will find some where else to have our child free ladies night if we will continue to be shoved out well before closing. read more

10 stars. We had a very large wedding there on Memorial Day weekend. Scott, Steve and Kris were beyond amazing. The venue is giant and beautiful. If you are a CO person, its decorated perfectly with the perfect vibe. 36 CO beers on draft. Every person commented on the food. It was so amazing. They take the stress out of the wedding and make it what it should be. On top of that, the tap room and restaurant in itself is amazing. 6/14/24- Our first experience with the restaurant was that their front entrance is not ADA accessible. If you have a wheelchair or have mobility issues you have to enter through the side/back where the patio is. Super degrading. Then their food is so overpriced for what you get. Of the 3 apps we tried only the Brussel sprouts were of a good quality and size for the price. The worst was the nachos that needed more toppings or additional dipping sauce. Several of the beers we had wanted to try the waitress told were actually either mislabeled on the menu or they were our of. Just all around not a good food experience. Also the decor was super lacking. If you have a super cute animal in the name of your place you need to have it super dialed up in the decor. There was very limited penguins and the name of the place was what it attracted us to try this place and they even dropped the ball with that. I'd recommend trying somewhere else. read more

This a fun bar/grill restaurant. It wasn't busy around 6pm on a Friday, but around 7 it got packed. There's a live band too! Food is was delicious. BBQ pulled pork sliders was tender and flavorful. Onion rings were ordinary. I love the choices of beer! And the 4oz for $2.50 was perfect! Safe area. They have parking on their lot for free. I noticed that was rare in Denver. Went to 2 Penguins Tap and Grill to have dinner and drinks one night and was pleasantly surprised by the wide array of beers they had on tap to try. One of the beers that caught my eye was the coconut macadamia nut brew which was light and refreshing and to my surprise really tasted like coconut and macadamia nuts! Another thing on the menu that caught my eye was the burrito which had tater tots inside of it. I am a sucker for tater tots so I had to try it. And it was hearty and pretty good! Definitely big enough for two people to share! 2 Penguins Tap and Grill also has a really nice large outdoor patio that is plenty spacious and dog friendly! They also had outdoor music which was a nice touch to enjoy having some beers and food with. So if you are looking for an affordable brewery to go relax with some friends at definitely keep 2 Penguins in mind. read more

A good bar and grill that carries 30+ craft beers on tap in an area with office buildings and hotels that was initially hard to determine if they were open or not. The parking lot is large, but dark, and the front of the restaurant is covered in dark wood paneling. But park and head inside, as you won't be disappointed! Once I made it inside, the restaurant and bar area is quite inviting. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly and quickly sat my party and took our drink order. There is a full bar, with 30+ beers from many of the local Colorado breweries. The food menu is excellent as well. There is also an event room that can be rented for parties and such. I tried the fried chicken sandwich, as I had read other reviews about how tasty it was... those reviews were on-point! We've been here twice and it hasn't disappointed. The servers are very friendly and responsive, even when it's really busy. We've had a variety of their appetizers, and they're all good. Not phenomenal, but good. The drinks are good, and I love that the beers and liquor are mostly from Colorado. This time, we tried the mac and cheese bowls, and while not the best I've ever had, they were tasty and I loved the different takes on a classic. The sides (blueberry biscuits and fries) were good, too. I highly recommend the carrot cake - it's rich, dense, and filled with nuts and goodies. Get one to go if you can't fit it in. When busy, the place can be loud, and there's live music Friday and Saturday nights, but it's not obtrusive. We'll definitely keep going - it's a hidden gem! read more

We really loved this place! It is sort of tucked back off Arapahoe near Revere and has a lovely woodsy patio and rustic look inside. The beer menu is HUGE and constantly changing. We had the 1/2 fried chicken with cole slaw and blueberry corn muffins. It was SO GOOD. Hot, crispy and juicy! I love suburban surprises. We stumbled upon Two Penguins last year on the way back from the outer reaches of Denver Metro and went back recently after a visit to the splash park in Centennial. If this place were close by, I'd ask for my own table. Let's start with the food. A cynic could just skim the headings, say, "Bar food" and move on. Big mistake. The menu offers innovative dishes with high-end quality. The steak sandwich includes an unexpectedly spicy parmesan mayo slathered on an actual steak, not some withered slices of beef. "Neapolitan style" pizza may not transport you to Napoli, but it hits the spot. The CO-style green chile and onion rings rock. Everything we've had was fresh and tasty. I've got the fried chicken and panko-crusted crab cakes in my sights for next time, and if salads interested me, theirs look amazing. After all that, I can still say that I'd stop in here for beer even if they didn't serve food. Their list of CO taps will make any beer enthusiast happy. Falling Rock may own the slogan, but Two Penguins definitely has "No Crap on Tap." Thirty six choices include many of Denver Metro and Colorado's premier brewers--Cerebral, Weldwerks, Wiley Roots, Outer Range--as well as local standouts Mockery, Great Divide, Wit's End, and more. They pander to no one with boring New Belgiums and corporate sellout breweries of our world. Thank you! This place is great! The chefs serve up excellent dishes all around. The CO beer and liquor choices are great. What really blew me a way is all the venue has to offer. They have a beautiful patio, outdoor common area, large area for private parties, shuffle board, and more. Wish we lived closer. I think we would be regulars. We went in for dinner & drinks earlier in the even on Saturday (09/09/2023). My friend got a shot of whiskey to go with his beer...and they brought us a drink with a HUGE earwig in it...just sitting in the bottom of the whiskey. I could not believe it and was ready to leave immediately. My friend tends to be kinder and more understanding and just wanted to move on. The manager sort of apologized- made a joke about extra protein & that was it. No discount on the bill, they even charged us for the freakin earwig whiskey! A nice sunny spot on the patio was a great spot to catch up with an old coworker. They didn't have an umbrella at our table (a little sun shield is always appreciated) but when asked if they had an extra they found one quickly and placed it in for us which was really great. I ordered a pilsner and a water, but only got the pilsner until I asked again halfway through the meal for the water. (The pilsner was excellent, btw). My coworker and I each got a burger, though they messed a couple things up toppings-wise. Nothing that couldn't be quickly corrected, but the burgers of course cool down so his cheese didn't melt and mine was room temperature by the time I dug in. The patty felt a little under seasoned, and mine was definitely well done (though medium can be hard to find in a thinner patty, and my friend ordered his well) but sometimes these things happen, it's definitely not the end of the world. Our server was a trainee, so she needed a little help - she's gonna be great, really, she's just new. So that's probably where a few of the mistakes came in but that's life. We're human, and it happens. Overall it was a fine spot, pretty decent patio that was full. This is out of the way for me but if you're working in this area I can see this being a pretty decent lunch stop. My trip the food just really wasn't anything special. Maybe next time! read more

The outdoor patio has expanded with more tables and grass for kids play. The dog friendly patio is a huge plus! The food and beer selection has a little of everything and served by friendly staff. Our favorite place! We probably go at least 3 times a month. Love the beers and the cocktails. The food is amazing!! We have a long list of favorites: Thai chicken salad, steak salad, spinach dip, Al's fried chicken, Buffalo chicken wrap and the fried chicken sandwich, spicy turkey panini, Mac and cheese bowls, prime rib special, black and blue burger, just to name a few. The outdoor patio is so beautiful and relaxing. Love that it's open even in the Fall too. We've never had bad service, staff has always been kind, efficient and attentive. It was about 6:30 on Sunday evening and as we pulled up we questioned if they were even open. There were 3 other cars in the parking lot. We ordered 3 appetizers to sample between us. The cheesy spinach dip was for sure our favorite. The basket of chips was alright for $1, but I wouldn't order another. The bar nachos genuinely made me sad. The cheese seemed like it was from a can, yes a can. With us being the only people in there the atmosphere was odd. The music seemed loud, yet between the songs there was a long silence that really made you aware you were the only ones there. The other perk, aside from cheesy spinach dip, the brews. I might be biased, because my favorite server/FOH/beer guru works here. But, the tap list here is so damn good. Over 30 beers on tap, and almost all of them are Colorado rock stars. It's a great space, with really good service, and excellent happy hour pricing. On top of that, the appetizers are not too shabby. For those people who work or live down near Arapahoe, this place is super convenient. There is a nice large patio which is already being well-received. There is plenty of parking. The interior is shiny and new. What is not to love? I predict I will be coming here quite a bit in the future. read more

Been here several times, I enjoy the food and service, and would recommend to friends, BUT the host station is run by young girls that are clueless about customer service and relations, the host staff are rude and desperately in need of training.
