I saw her with serious and debilitating arm pain that I had been treating for months with an array of other medical providers, without making significant progress, but every session with Dr. Bair was rather life changing in terms of pain reduction and mobility increase. I also had experienced other treatments to bring pain in the process, but Dr. Bair managed an incredible amount of healing without pain during the treatment. She also is excellent at explaining your medical issues clearly and understandably. I highly recommend Dr. Bair.

    Do you see ALL of these forms? Do you know what they are?!?! The forms I was text and emailed to…read morefill out PRIOR to my appointment. Which I did. Online. With the link provided. The day BEFORE the appointment I was told to come in NO LATER than 30 minutes prior to complete the paperwork. My appointment was at 3pm. I was told to be there by 2:15. I ended up there at 2:20. They said "here fill this out" and I said I already did online. And they said we can't see that and it doesn't link in (so WHY send an email and text telling people to so it?) And this was the case for EVERY person who checked in while I waited. After I finished the paperwork, I sat and waited and waited and waited. And at 3:10 I was asked up to the desk and asked if I had done the paperwork. I said yes I did, and the girl asked me who I gave it to and I said "you." And then she said "oh yeah." And was fumbling through a GIANT stack of paperwork to try and find it. Let me just tell you they're like a NEGATIVE TEN out of 5 for their office staff/administration. They need to clean out and start fresh there. I wasn't overly pleased with the MA as she was curt and not very pleasant. And pushy. But Stephanie D'Andrea was great. She went through all of my history, asked relevant questions and spent probably 5 minutes, if that, ACTUALLY connecting the digital file which the office staff was completely incompetent in doing, so that she could view everything I had filled out. She didn't need the forms because she could see everything I'd input ONLINE as well as other physician test results, etc. She actually had a clue about the medicine AND the administration. Which IMHO is NOT the job of the NP or RN or Doc. That's the administration's job. To make their lives AND the patient's life EASIER. When the MA took my BP (in a seriously awkward bench chair,) I said that's REALLY high. As in even when I'm really stressed it's not that high. And she just ignored me. Then after I said something again she took it exactly the same and it was the same read. When Stephanie finished with me (interrupted 3 times by her MA giving her "time" warnings...which also seemed VERY unprofessional;) she asked the MA to retake my BP and reposition my arm because I have NO history of BP like that. Well wouldn't you know it was basically normal like what I normally read at. So many things were discussed but I mentioned painful bunions on my feet and Stephanie said "that's not a bunion. It's a wart." And I thought cool. I'm officially OLD I have warts on the side of my feet?!?! EW. No offense but I didn't believe her. I had been in a lot of pain (which she said happens with these on your foot...) and I thought NO WAY. She said to soak my feet for as long as I can in warm water and then file as much callous as I could off (and ew there was a lot...it's JUST becoming spring in the PNW LOL!) And legit AFTER just that my foot was WAY less painful. But after using the wart gel and a corn pad (yup legit old people stuff,) for a FEW days...the pain was GONE. I was like an insane person sending her messages in the patient portal saying OMG my foot feels SO much better. Like I could cry it's so much better. The pain was so bad I hadn't even realized until it stopped!!! Anyway, I had some blood work done AT the office and for someone who has NO veins, despite eating and being hydrated, NO veins lol. After serious discomfort and having the tech dig around in my hand, I suggested maybe a heat pack as it has worked previously. So we did that and it wasn't AS bad the next time. Still not great though. Anyway, overall experience was Stephanie 10/5 stars. MA 2.5/5 stars. Office staff -10/5 stars.

From front desk to management to nurses and doctors it's truly not a place to treat patient. i don't know anyone that likes going to see doctors but before the changes it felt good now however I feel anxiety calling them and asking for any kind of help. Lack of empathy, bed side manner, compassion and most importantly lack of consistency in information.

That's part of why this is difficult to write. I'm sharing this because of a pattern I've experienced over multiple visits, culminating in my most recent appointment. Over time, there have been repeated issues with communication, documentation, and coordination related to my workers' compensation case. This is not based on a single interaction. For example, during a prior visit, I was not provided a work release note, which created confusion when I later tried to follow up. When I called to clarify, I was told there was nothing further available, without additional explanation or effort to resolve the gap. Earlier in my claim, there were also instances where documentation had to be corrected retroactively so that my work status accurately reflected my condition and I could receive appropriate compensation. I understand these cases involve multiple moving parts, but situations like that reinforce how important consistency and accuracy are from the start. During my most recent visit, I was asked whether I felt "medically stationary." I explained that I am not a medical professional and not qualified to make that determination. That should come from the provider after a complete evaluation, including coordination with all treating professionals. In my case, both my physical therapist and aquatic therapist had not yet been consulted. The medically stationary status was marked as "not sure," which I appreciate, because it reflects that a full evaluation had not yet taken place. However, the conversation leading up to that point felt rushed and, at times, framed in a way that placed pressure on me to answer something I should not be responsible for determining. Another concern was how the conversation was framed around "moving forward" and "closing the claim." These are things I have expressed over the past two years. I do want to move forward. However, hearing those same phrases reflected back in this context felt misaligned, especially when key steps like coordinating with my therapists had not yet been completed. It gave the impression that my own words were being used to support a timeline that had not been fully evaluated. Wanting to move forward does not mean skipping necessary steps, it means making sure everything has been properly reviewed so that the next step is accurate. I was also told that "this isn't a game" and that "this is my life." I agree with that completely, as I've been saying that throughout this process. But in that moment, it felt less like support and more like pressure, especially when I was being asked to weigh in on something I'm not qualified to determine. Statements like that carry weight, and in a workers' compensation setting, they can come across as pressure if not paired with thorough evaluation and coordination of care. A patient should not feel responsible for advancing the process without full clinical guidance. After two years of navigating this process, I have been consistent in what I've communicated. The issue is not a lack of clarity on my end, it's that those concerns have not always been fully reflected in follow-through. What stands out most is the pattern: moments where communication breaks down, documentation is inconsistent, or decisions move forward without full coordination between providers. In a workers' compensation case, those details directly affect treatment, recovery timelines, and stability. For context, my injury involves the hip, and my background is in aquatics. I am a swimmer, water polo player, and artistic swimmer, and have worked in aquatic environments for many years. The hip is central to nearly every movement, and recovery requires careful, progressive rehabilitation. I have only recently returned to the water, which is a key part of my recovery. Given that, discussing whether I am medically stationary at this stage, without full coordination across my care team felt premature and not fully aligned with the recovery process. I do want to acknowledge that the physical therapy team, especially Andy, has been excellent. That side of care has been thoughtful, consistent, and a very positive part of my experience. Despite the concerns above, I still look forward to continuing care here. I have been in a vulnerable position throughout this process, and I recognize the ways Dr. Joan Takacs and the team have supported me. Edit: Since writing this review, I received a letter dated March 26, 2026 stating that Dr. Takacs is withdrawing from my care and canceling my upcoming appointment. I have been advised to transition to another provider. Same week Judas betrayed Jesus by the way.

It is hard to…read morefind good times to come in since she is always booked out but if you schedule far enough in advance, she can usually accommodate and provide times to come in that do fit a busy schedule. I think she's booked out because she's experienced and that puts I'm her in demand. The staff do seem stressed over Covid which is understandable. They have you wait in the entry and do a temp check before you can come in so if you barge in, it brakes protocol and you just ignored the big sign in the front so that's understandable if they are frustrated by those who don't pay any attention to their surroundings..

I…read morecannot write about his bedside manner or how he is in regards to caring for his patients since I didn't get the chance to. After seeing my primary care dr., she recommended that I see a DO, someone more specialized and with more knowledge and guidance than what she's been able to help with the last few years. After letting my primary care dr. gynecologist, and my outpatient care dr. know what the next move was, they were all on board. My primary care dr. recommended a few DO's she knew personally. Once I got home, I started the process of finding a new dr. Either no one was accepting new patients , they retired, or sadly left town. On June 24th., 2024, I spent several hours with my insurance company and calling numerous clinics and private practices to see if they were accepting new patients: that's when I found Osteopathic PDX. After reading the dr's bio and reading a few positive reviews, I called to see if he was welcoming new patients. Dianne, the office manager, collected some information and put me on the books for Aug 26th., 2024, which was the soonest Monday they could see me since Monday's are my days off. I was shocked and supper bummed that the wait was so long to be seen. I patiently waited for that day to come just to receive a call by Dianne, the morning of having to cancel my apt. due to the dr. not coming into the office that day. Dianne rescheduled the apt., and the soonest Monday was September 1st., 2024. This apt. was then again canceled the day of as well. Although I was not happy, both my primary care and treatment dr. encouraged me to make one last ditch effort in rescheduling another apt. I was thinking "the dr. clearly does not like working on Monday's." Yet again, I was rescheduled for Oct., 21st. Sunday night, I received a voicemail by Dianne saying something to the effect that the dr. had something come up and that my apt. would need to be rescheduled. No. No, I sure will never be "rescheduling" another apt. with this dr., screaming out loud. I've now spent the last 4 months time waiting to be seen by this provider, and rescheduling for a 4th time is something I will not do. Working in the medical field myself, I understand that things come up with dr's and or their staff. Unfortunately, having to move patients around or reschedule them is something that happens from time to time. It personally hurts when I have to make these kind of calls to patients. However, Dianne should've known that this was 3rd cancellation now. There's one thing I know working as a surgical assistant, and that the surgeon I work for and myself would have skipped a lunch break, (as we often do anyway), or come to work an hour early, and or stay an hour later to make it right with that one patient; especially for the one who's been cancelled on one too many times. Dr's and their staff often have that ability to do just that and I wish they would've shown the compassion to do so. Perhaps in the future, when the dr. needs to reschedule the patients, you could color code or have a system in place of how many times you've had to cancel that one particular pt. because every time Dianne would call to cancel my apt., it's like she was unaware that she's now called me 3 times prior cancelling my appointments. I truly felt like she had no care whatsoever for my time spent waiting to be seen. That is was just another day at the office. It's a shame that I even have to write this review. And believe me, it's taken me weeks to think about this. I kept asking myself "should I write a review or should I just let it go?" Something over the course of the last few weeks kept nudging me to do so. Maybe now I will feel better about the situation? Maybe I just needed to write all this to get it off my chest? Because I do patient care, I felt the right thing to do is to let whomever know, who's thinking of becoming a new patient here, make aware of my experience with Osteopathic PDX.

I had a difficult neck/rib problem and Dr. Esmer helped me quite a bit in a single session. Several other practitioners including a chiropractor had tried but his session helped me turn the corner on that problem. This office bills some health insurance plans; call to ask. I'm able to see him for a $40 copay; I'm used to paying out of pocket for this sort of treatment so I feel very fortunate. Since the pandemic, he is often booked out several weeks to a month, so plan ahead.

Then after their clientele improved, it appears that they no longer needed or cared to provide the customer service that I received originally. Current 2024 prices as of August are about: $104 - 60 min $144 - 90 min $179 - 120 min And I feel like these have been discounted slightly because I could've swore it was $150 for 90 the last time I came here. So who knows if they will change again. I did think it was a lil spendy, but that seems to be similar to other places in the area.
