My friend organized a private weekday tour and tasting here to celebrate my birthday. Our group of…read more7 had a fantastic time! it started with a presentation on the overview and history of this family farm, then a tour of the cheesemaking facilities and barn where the dairy and beef cows hang out. We met their farm dogs, took photos with the sweet cows, and saw the family working around the property. We then ended with a tasting of their products: cheese, curds, and kefir (all delicious!) Since it was a birthday party, my friend brought a picnic lunch which we enjoyed along with the cheese. We ended by choosing to buy a selection of the cheeses we liked, to take home and share. I was thrilled to find they sell at my local farmers market - I plan to buy more of the Herby Curds when I've run out of cheese next!

My husband and two kids did the farm tour this weekend. While it was very interesting to get such a…read moreclose up view of a family owned and run working dairy farm, I do not recommend this tour for families. While they sell discounted tickets for kids 5-12 and kids under 5 are free, we and all the other families there found the tour to be a real struggle for our little ones. We all felt a little misled about the experience based on the online description. It's a lot of standing very still (in rooms with equipment that shouldn't be contaminated by guests, or next to equipment that has cow poop on it), listening to the owner talk for long stretches. We expected more movement around the farm and time outdoors, instead of something closer to a lecture with a large group in tight spaces. It also ran over time (to 2 hours!) ending with a nice close up visit with the cows and some small cheese samples. We did really enjoy meeting the cows and learning the details of how cheese making works. It is a real labor of love. I think there's a lot of potential here; the Achadinha tour has all the ingredients for an awesome visit but could use some editing. This tour could easily be 30 minutes, an hour tops. We would've liked to stay and buy some cheese but by 1pm we were all starving and fled to find lunch elsewhere. Other parents shared they would've had a great time there on a date, but definitely wouldn't go with small kids again. I'll also flag that they require you to step through a decontamination footbath to go inside the facilities. There were a lot of miserable people in sandals who had to get their feet wet in the chemicals. Closed toed shoes that can get wet recommended for this tour.

This is their store, but they make all their product right across the street. You can also pay for a tour over there as well! Ice cream: 5/5 The ice cream was delicious. They have several flavors that look like they get rotated out. Price: 5/5 The price was extremely reasonable. $4 for a scoop and the scoop was large! Customer Service: 5/5 We had amazing customer service here. The gentleman working was extremely personable. He brought out a platter of samples for us to try of different cheeses and butter and he taught the kids some Spanish in the process! He made the whole experience much more fun! If you are in the area, this is a great place to grab some ice cream or a coffee and enjoy the beautiful neighborhood around here.

They offer sandwiches, like their $5 Grilled Cheese, and have a decent amount of deli stuff to go with your sandwich. You can also taste a wide assortment of cheeses that are made on site. Their ice creams, also made on site, are rich and creamy. Delicious after lunch or on a hot day. The guy behind the counter was exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable and service was exceptional. I recommend stopping by if you're in the area or passing through.

McEvoy Ranch is a spectacular place that is surrounded by olive orchards, ponds, and wildlife. It…read morehas both advantages and disadvantages. My personal SWOT analysis is listed below: Strength: *Famous in California *It offers tours, tastings, workshops, and sells wines *Pioneering Olive Oil *Award-Winning Quality *Historical Significance *Sustainability & Organic Farming *A seat-down outdoor area with scenery for any occasion *Outlet shop in downtown Petaluma Weakness: *The place is in a remote area *The olive oil testing fee is pricey compared with other places we visited in Paso Robles California *Skin products are large and heavy for tourists to take on an airplane or carry on *The table turnover rate is lower than restaurants with food consumption *No restaurant or delicatessen available *They need to hire more staff to maintain the quality of their property Opportunities: *If customer satisfaction is high *If they have good marketing strategies *Not many competitors nearby *More demand *Skin product choices are variable Threats: *If people are not familiar with olive products, they may not like this place *Customers may occupy the tables for a long time during peak season or times *Other places or similar products may have better quality at a lower price with generous portions *An alternative option in the food industry, suppliers, and cosmetics companies Overall, it's a great place to hang out on any occasion with family or small groups. The outdoor area is beautiful and relaxing. Since it is an open space, it could be very hot in summer or cold in winter, or during the rainy season. Moreover, this ranch is also not very noticeable to international tourists. We found it because during the New Year's holiday, many places are closed. So we googled this place while we were staying at the Hampton Inn Petaluma. We are from San Luis Obispo, California. There are many olive oil farms nearby. We not only visited the farms but also tasted the olive oil at a little fee or sometimes even for free.

Glad we had reservations. We had wine tasting along with food tasting. Everything was good and beautifully presented. Afterwards, we went into the gift shop and purchased lotions and the best ginger jam that paired well with Brie. The tastings were ample and a nice selection. It was pricey, but for a special occasion, worth it. The Ode body butter is the best I had to get another jar. It is really moisturizing and lasts a long time. I prefer the "verde" scent. They have lavender, and unscented too. very relaxing vibe.
