This was a wonderful stop prior going down to Bishop Beach on a chilly day! The baked goods where to die for and paired great with a steaming hot americano! I love this bakery dearly. Whenever I visit Homer, Two Sisters is first on my list of places to be. My little brother and I even made up a song to sing when we want to go (which is every morning we're in Homer). The location by the beach and boardwalk is perfect for those wanting to grab something and go for a stroll. My only wish is that they had more available seating. My five stars go to cafés where I can comfortably sit and read/work in addition to having quality food & coffee. Here we often can't find a seat at all (which, on the other hand, is an indicator of their well-deserved popularity). read more

Thanks two sister for having not only some awesome bagels baked for me at the end of the Sterling highway, but for also topping those bagels with some super-awesome smoked salmon schmear. I would go to Homer in a second just for one of those bagels. And maybe a sticky nutty bun too, which are sweet chock full of pecans. I can't much about their other food items, but my co-eaters seemed pretty happy with their choices and our breakfast guide, Will, swore by their bread with chocolate. Carri is fantastic to work with. She helped us to pick and choose items to perfectly complement our wedding festivities. We ordered turtle bars and lemon bars for an evening bay cruise, some savory appetizers for happy hour following our ceremony, and of course, our wedding cake. Everything was delicious and all of our out-of-state wedding guests raved. Before ordering our cake Carri had some cupcakes for us to try (complete with different fillings). I stayed at Two Sisters Bed & Breakfast at the recommendation of a friend. My partner and I stayed one night in the rented room above the bakery for his birthday. The room was charming and well kept. The views from the windows are amazing! The servers/baristas are friendly and helpful, and they allowed us to pick complimentary pastries, quiche, and coffee as part of our bed & breakfast purchase. this is one of the cutest little coffee shops I have ever been to! Such a quaint, but eclectic bakery in the middle of an artsey little seaport town. If I couldve tried one of everything, I sure would have! They have breakfast and lunch items along with coffees and other drinks. Our cashier mentioned they do small and large scale caterings also. While there, I tried all of their cookies, a ham and cheese breakfast pastry, and a vanilla cupcake filled with dark chocolate ganache....YUMMMM! Here's the breakdown of what my wife and I had over the course of three visits, my favorite items I got multiple times. One note, my wife would probably rate it a 4, but I definitely thought the place was worth a 5. Top items: Jalapeño cheddar bun. Heated up, this was by far my favorite item. Chocolate chip cookie. Served warm, lots of chips... super good. Ham and Cheese Savory (close to a croissant). Lemon Bar (not as out of this world as another yelper suggested, but still good) Not as good: Hot Chocolate. A little bland. Vegie Savory... I have no personal opinion on this, as I'd never order a veggie croissant/savory in the first place, but my wife didn't like the one she got. This is probably my favorite bakery in Homer. You can get our food or beverage and walk down to the ocean. It is also amazing at food and amazing service. The women working were very polite and fast. We only waited 2 minutes to be helped, there was probably 7 other groups before us. This is a must stop if you are in Homer. The atmosphere is so welcoming. I would highly recommend. This review is only for breakfast. We've visited twice now, and Two Sisters satisfied us both times. During the first visit, we had the vegetarian pita, rockfish curry soup, and sticky pecan bun. I thought the vegetarian pita was incredibly delicious. It's just the type of food I like. However, for the price, I thought i'd be getting a larger portion. The rockfish soup was not only small, but also bland. Sure smelled great coming in though! And finally, the infamous sticky buns. It's that good and more. You don't have to think about this one. Just get it. The second time we ordered a cheddar jalapeno bun with cream cheeese, from scratch biscuit and gravy, and another sticky bun. The jalapeno bun was fine. But it was the biscuits and gravy that took me by surprise. First this was served in a bowl, b/c they gave you such a generous portion. Am I still in AK? There was only on biscuit for all that gravy, but it was nonetheless very satisfying (gravy could use a bit more salt or more strongly seasoned sausage though). I soaked up the remaining gravy with the jalapeno bun. For $4, it's quite a steal for from scratch food. I also like the ambiance of the restaurant very much. Definitely a local place. And service was friendly. I think I'm going to have to return here again tomorrow for the vegetarian pita before leaving Homer. read more

Their bread is made with real, live yeast starter which makes all the difference. Since I've moved to US it's not easy to find that good, yeasty, 'live' bread and this is the place to go for that! Coffee is good, since I get to go there maybe once or twice a year, I always get a T-shirt as well since I love their logo. I could sit there and eat pastries all day. Great place! read more

I'm going to jump on this sticky bun train to yum town! We just stopped in for a post breakfast / pre lunch snack stop and wow.. So good! I got the pecan sticky bun, wife had a lemon bar, Bro in law had a cup of soup. I would rate this place 4 stars just on the smell alone! It smells so good! The sticky bun wasn't the BEST I've ever had, but VERY close. The sticky glaze is the key ingredient. The bun was a bit dry, but I think it had to be to stand up to the gooey sticky topping. If the bun was flavored more, I think my head would have exploded from overload. It really was good. My wife said the Lemon bar was good, and the soup I was also told was very good as well. Water was "fill our own" (Nice!) and they even had children's books for our son. There is even some toys outback for the kids to play with. This place seems very genuine. A discussion on said topic was had once we got back to the car, which resulted in a pseudo intellectual conversation which concluded that the place was in fact genuine and a fun place to be. The people, atmosphere, food, smells and friendliness makes this a great place. Do NOT pass it by! read more

Some of the best food we had during our 2 week visit to Alaska. We first went here for lunch and then made reservations for dinner the same night. For lunch we both did half sandwich + salad which were both delicious. I highly recommend dinner where everything has a little bit of asian flair. We had the Red Salmon with Indian Red Lentils and the Spicy Scallop Pasta. Make reservations and enjoy the best meal that Homer has to offer. read more

There's a suite in my Bakery! There's a bakery in my Suite! It's both! We stopped in here before a short performance in Seldovia. Coffee, cakes, all the good stuff. They have delicious coffee and great food so on our way back through Homer we decided to stay in their Suites. Very reasonably priced for the winter and great accomodations. Do you love to wake up to the sounds and smells of a bakery? Who doesn't. The beds are VERY comfortable, nice and soft. And they feature the Alaskan local made soaps that they sell downstairs in the coffee shop/bakery. Couldn't recommend this place enough. read more

This place has a good variety of pastries and baked goods that look like they were made well and taste delicious. Aside from being an attractive and very cute establishment, I appreciated the customer service and homey vibe of the place. We got the lemon bars, cinnamon roll, chocolate turtles, maple cookies, and some kind of decadent chocolate cake that was topped with a raspberry and red wine concoction. I don't even remember the name but I'd go back for that cake any day it was so good. The lemon bars were a hit too, they had the right balance of tartness which I liked because most places make those too sweet which defeats the point of adding lemon. I heard they make their own bread for sandwiches which are suppose to be worth a try. Overall, it was very worthy of a stop and I could definitely see myself being a regular if I lived closer. read more

Stopped here as it was a favorite place to stop while in Homer. Pulled up and was waiting outside with a few others to order at the pickup window. Two ladies were running the front end side of things. After about 10-15 minutes a young kid opens up the door looks directly at two of us in our party and asks us if we had masks. Yes we did, around our necks, but we were waiting outside and away from the window and others so two of us didn't have them up or on yet. So we did say yes. He very rudely says to us well you need a mask out here and if you don't like it you can shop somewhere else. Didn't even give us the opportunity to pull it up. Wasn't nice about it. And basically just told us to leave. One of the other customers was like wow. That was super rude. And another who was closer to the front of the line was like well it says so right there. Apparently there was a sign next to the counter that says you must wear a mask. No problem. But we didn't even see the sign, we're not ordering, and was outside. I was embarrassed and disappointed. I'm not sure who the kid was but his negativity towards us was uncalled for and downright rude. You have lost a lifelong customer who's been around even before you opened. No one talks to my to my kids like that!! read more

I also love their Coffee and Soup offerings but the bakers deserve an award. One downside: If they're slammed, the service backs up pretty fast. I fell in love with my first bite into a savory danish....I really didn't know what love was until we took or visiting family there for dinner. Amazing! Of course it was summer, dinner time, and we didn't have a reservation. (We're from Homer, we don't plan ahead, haha!) Luckily, it was a gorgeous evening, and the kind staff was able to seat us outside. Every course was melt in your mouth delicious. We passed a few plates around, sampling everyone's dinner, and even saved room for a sweet treat at the end. This place, in the Old Town section of Homer, is a welcome respite from the madness on the Spit. We bought baked goods and coffee at Two Sisters twice during our visit to Homer. Cookies, sticky buns, mixed berry danish, everything was excellent, including the coffee. And what amazes me is how they churn out such incredibly good food in such a small workspace. Such a great spot! Lovely outside seating available with an area for kids to play, and the beach is just a short stroll away. We each got delicious sandwiches on focaccia bread, and were too full to eat our desserts right away. Luckily we took them to go! The boca negra, one with raspberry and one without, were so fudgy and delicious! Brownie was also super moist and filled with chocolate chips. Yum for all!!! A three day break from my wife's and my regular routine brought us from Anchorage to Homer. Not sure where to find some good food, we turned to Yelp reviews and decided to try three places that had 4 stars each. Two were decidedly *not* deserving of of their distinction. One is, and that's Two Sisters Bakery. It is all you have read about in the other reviews below mine, and more. Today, we had a lunch that included a 1/2 sandwich, a cup of soup, a side of cornbread, and a glass of the water from the traditional ceramic water cooler. The food was delicious and filling, I think, because the recipes have just enough zest and the ratio of bread to lettuce, cheese, and meat is well judged. A sticky bun to go (pick up a fork and knife there) made it about 25 minutes out of town before it was finished off. It was such a treat! Where else could a couple get such a delicious lunch and dessert for less than $11? Definitely try this place to experience food quality complimented by the bohemian spirit that Homer has in abundance. We will definitely return here when we come back in early April for a concert. read more

This is a wonderful bakery! We have been there twice and will probably go a couple of more times. I have had a few of their the ham and cheese savories and they are fantastic! The oatmeal raisin cookies are excellent as well. The jalapeno cheese bun is awesome especially just out of the oven.
