I had a salted caramel latte one day & a FV another. Both were perfection. Hot and perfectly balanced. We also tried several pastries, all of which were amazing, but the sourdough chocolate chip & the lavender shortcake were by far our favorites. The coffee was acceptable. I appreciate that they offer an 8oz latte, which in later part of the day is all I require. It's quite rare to find this offered in Alaska. The location is take out only, with seating offered on their small but sweet patio. A few steps in either direction will take customers to the beach or the Port, so seating is really a not a consideration. What suprised me was how soon in the season they closed up shop. We went on Saturday in early September and they were open, we returned the following day on Sunday- the SAME weekend, and they had flipped over their "closed for the season" sign. Weird. It seems like places on the spit are closing earlier and earlier every year; never mind those of use who live in Alaska within driving distance who are waiting for the tourists to leave so we can enjoy local businesses. Love this quaint little coffee shop! It's centrally located on the Homer Spit so it is perfect to walk to and from as you are exploring the harbor and spit. They have wonderful tasting coffee and and a great assortment of the best teas and chai's. Their coffee cups (changing depending on what size your order) have beautiful illustrations of the local flora and fauna of the area. Overall one of my favorite (seasonal) coffee shops in Alaska. **Note: I believe they are only open during the summer months from May-September(ish). read more

I became a regular through last summer and every time I went in the staff was so amazing and sweet! The coffee was great!! I always got a white chocolate mocha so I can't say much about any of the other drinks! Muffins and bagels were always amazing!!! For sure making it a stop again when I get the chance this summer!!! Organic and fair-trade!!I just have to mention this first because after loving this cute little place for 3 days and getting my daily fix, I discovered this. There isn't a sign sharing this piece of information and many people care about this, with me among them. I had an Americano almost every time I dropped in because it was fabulous, one of the best I have ever had. I like strong, full bodied coffee with an earthy taste (learned to drink coffee in the cafes of Europe). I added shots to the larger sizes and always cut the water in half. You could almost say I drank watered down espressos! I also loved the Zen chai, a lighter beverage in the afternoon to sip on, rather than my Intense Americano. It was full of flavorful spices and lightly sweetened. It is tiny inside so there's no indoor seating and only a few treats to purchase but its all about the great coffee! I wish I could have stayed longer in Homer to try other beverages, including the hot chocolate which is, I'm sure, fabulous. The coffee was so good , however, that I just couldn't miss an opportunity to have one each time I was on the spit. In fact, I went out of my way to go the spit just to get this great coffee. I'll miss you Homer and Coal Town Coffee but I hope to be back in the future! read more

Lovely little coffee shop! Serves locally brewed coffee and tea. And small breakfast treats like muffins, cookies and bagels. Open very early so you can get your fix before a fishing trip. I had Alaskan chai tea brewed by Homer Brewing Co, which was absolutely delicious. I also had a toasted bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese, which was delectable. I was dying for good hot coffee, and Homer did not disappoint me. We hit this tiny joint. I had a mocha with an extra shot of espresso. Hubby had the coal town Tibet green tea (it had a cool name which I forget). Prices were just like any coffee shop, which was surprising, since all their revenue streams are just within the 4 months of summer. This place is just before the salty dog salon, and it is so tiny that it is easy to miss. Check 'em out, their coffee will warm you inside out. read more
