I was a patient here due to an injury from work a while back. Angela and Adam in the physical therapy department are very caring people. They make you feel comfortable and you feel like you've known them for awhile. Lupe the receptionist in the specialist department is awesome, outgoing & knows how to do her job. She remembers you and calls you by your first name. Them alone, I would have given this review 5 stars. But... I took away 2 stars because of the main department. The front staff was alright, just doing their job. I dont mind waiting, but when I'm in the actual patient room waiting for 2 freakin' hours to the point where i think they forgot about me... only for the doctor to see me for less than 5 minutes... is NOT ok. This happened to me on more than one occasion. Thank goodness I have a lot of patience. Don't get me wrong. The doctors were nice, but making any patient wait that long is never OK.

This is because having an appointment makes no difference at all. I went there two weeks ago and waited almost 4 hours. Quality of Care- Not very good. The medical assistants working here have little compassion, no patience, and are extremely rude. They will have you come back for follow ups numerous times with little to no explanation. Waiting room: Expect to stand for a long time. Cost- I am not sure of. I would venture to say they are the cheapest in the valley otherwise so many employers would not be sending their employees there. Because no one in their right mind would go to this place voluntarily. If US healthworks is being considered by your employer get on your knees and beg and plead that they find someone else.

When we came last January for a trial day I knew that we would have substantial challenges moving into a classroom setting. Our son was diagnosed at an early age and does have severe symptoms, as well as being non verbal. But after spending the last four years with various agencies in the DTT model at home, we were ready for a change. After our intake assessment, it was clear that our son wasn't ready for a classroom setting. So instead they made the offer for us to access the clinic for ABA and push into the Academy over time. He's really blossomed in this model. He's totally acclimated to the classroom now, and will be moving into the classroom full time soon. Any complaints I've had have been met with solutions and if there was a problem they could not solve they referred me to someone who could. Mr. Sam and Karlie are great teachers, and the classroom is amazing. Music therapy is twice a week and they have clinics for OT and speech. Once a month there are Saturday camps, and Friday evening camps as well. These don't have an additional cost except for siblings and as long as you have therapy hours available. Holiday events have been so much fun! The school doesn't require verbal only like every other competitor in the area that refuses to serve any other population other than tier 1 verbal kids. So that was a huge plus for us. The program is year round. Overall we are really satisfied, and look forward to the 2019-2020 school year.

The driving and the distances to family homes often precludes a substitute if a session is cancelled last minute. (Especially in a county as huge as LA) Parents also commonly have to cancel at the last minute . What company has someone on standby to drive an hour to do a session that may not even work on the child's needs because they are not part of that case? Most parents would prefer someone they know to do these sessions , not some random other employee. What parent wants a sick therapist bringing germs into their home? I know from personal experience that Yvonne Bruinsma and her staff genuinely care about these kids. She isn't doing this to make money. She's doing it to change lives and finds her purpose in serving ,as do most of her staff.

When my grandma needed extra help, I started to look for a good care place. I spoke to many, but…read morenone felt right. Then a friend told me about Vermel Hospice Care, so I called them. The person in charge at Vermel was really nice to talk to. I shared about my grandma, and it was nice to talk to someone who really cared. We had a tough time with healthcare before, so this felt different.They sent us a nurse who was wonderful. She was always there for us, answering all our questions and helping so much. My grandma really liked her, which made us all feel good. She became like a new friend to us. Even the other nurse they sent was really nice. The owner and everyone at Vermel were great at talking with us. It made me happy I chose a smaller company because their care felt very personal and sincere. They did more than just give medicine, they showed they cared about my grandma and our family. I am really thankful for everything they did.
