Well, when I first called the office to make an appointment, Pam, the lady who answered the phone was so helpful. I had some issues that I need to be seen for, so she made sure to take down on my info and look up my insurance to tell me what would be covered and what would not be. Initially, she only had appointments over a month out, but you can ask them to be put on the cancellation wait list and they will call you. That's exactly what happened to me. I had booked the first available appointment that she had, but she called me a few hours later and had a cancellation the next day! The practice is in a lot with a few other buildings with various medical practices and businesses. Parking - They have a lot. Plenty of parking. Vibe - The practice is in a stand alone, 1 story building, almost like a little house, typical of the ones you see all over Richmond Hill. The reception window is to your left and there is quite a large waiting area. Very bright and clean. Service - I got my cleaning done with Donna. What a sweet lady. Soft spoken, but made me feel really comfortable. She did a great job with my teeth, nothing hurt so I guess that's always a win?! Dr. Dority came to inspect at the end, and he was very nice. Had a souther accent that I am still trying to get used to around these part! LOL. He listened to my concerns and gave me all the referrals that I needed. First visit was a success and if anything changes, well, I'll update accordingly in 6 months! I definitely have my next appointment booked!

I flew in four separate times from California because after a lot of research, I knew Dr. Porcelli was the one I could trust to be patient, immaculate, and impeccable with his work. And sure enough, I was right. I know I have already written a review, but I absolutely felt I needed to follow up after the completion of my work. Again, his staff is unbelievably hard-working. They are all incredibly invested in each patient and really know/understand each individuals needs. Dr. Porcelli's wife, Alina, manages the practice, and is seasoned in all things dentistry and health. She is an absolute star as far as I'm concerned. Your happiness is their primary concern and they absolutely guarantee it. If you're seeking a veteran cosmetic dentist, whose professionalism goes beyond just dentistry, but rather, overall health and wellness, look no further. If you're looking for a place whose staff will all know you by name and will greet you with warmth and familiarity, please, please call this office. Thank you to everyone at the Biological Center for Dentistry! Pure excellence all around.

I'm still a patient of his now, and can say nothing but great things about him and his staff. I always feel comfortable in the office and look forward to seeing them again!

By all means, avoid this business if you struggle with any form of anxiety!! My daughter was a…read morepatient there for 2+ years and had extensive work done there during that time. When we first moved to the area, a dentist was a priority for my adult daughter, who suffers from a severe case of Social Anxiety so I first read reviews then reached out to Townsend Dental for an appointment. I sat down with who I thought was the office manager - but now I'm thinking she was front desk manager - regardless, I met with them, we sat down and discussed a treatment plan, I explained her diagnosis and struggles and I was assured that she would be placed with ONE dentist and ONE amazing tech during her visits. I explained that it was important for her to know them and feel comfortable. This I was promised, and my daughter went to several appointments with no trouble. But fast forward to recently when my daughter was told she needed more ($4,000) work done. I scheduled the appointment, sitting in the waiting room, she bursts through the door - her face so red I was afraid she was going to have a stroke, dental bib still around her neck. I didn't know what happened but tried to calm her and had her wait outside. I obviously wanted to wrap things up inside so I could check on her outside. Later I found out that what happened was the tech was working on a tooth that wasn't expected and so my daughter TRIED to question it but was ignored. She panicked and ran out. The failure here is on the staff that this tech and this doctor were NEVER informed of my daughters diagnosis and therefore were not prepared. It was a definite failure of communication. Several days pass (it took 2-3 days for the physical stress to dissipate) and I called the dentist office - thinking that we would discuss next steps and how to get her the treatment she needs. They however, were only concerned with the fact that they weren't compensated and lost $4,000. So they sent her a very cold letter saying that they no longer wanted her as a patient. I was shocked and honestly, it broke my heart!!! I tried to do this right so that my daughter wasn't hurt but she ended up hurt AND abandoned. This has been a MAJOR setback for her. Please be aware. I don't want anyone else hurt like my daughter was. Thank you if you read through to the end.

The dental hygienist, Lynette, was great and did really thorough work and made me super comfortable. A few months later, I went back after having insidious molar pain that was severe enough to wake me from my sleep. Long story short, I needed a root canal. I believe a root canal was likely the appropriate treatment plan. However, almost 6 months later I am still having problems with the tooth. I went back in at which time Dr. Dickinson said he likely missed a nerve during the root canal. I was hesitant to let him perform a second root canal so he "corrected the bite" which helped a little with the pain. I still have intermittent pain and now have daily bleeding from the gums around that tooth. (This is $2,400 later out of my own pocket). I am a health freak! I floss 1-2x a day. I use Tom's toothpaste. I use charcoal to whiten my teeth instead of chemicals that can ruin the enamel. If you look at most of my Yelp reviews, they are positive. I am only writing this because I originally went here due to the positive reviews on Yelp. If you only need a teeth cleaning, this office is great. If you need any other dental work I would highly advice not going here.
