Seats are the most uncomfortable ever for a movie theater. Went to theater #4, not only were the seats horrible for adults, 5 year old had to sit on the edge and not back or it would fold up. Go to a theater somewhere else!!!!!! read more

Was told about this place by the front desk lady at the Red Roof Inn. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside was good to go. The seats were very comfortable and the screen was a good size. The prices were outstanding. The popcorn tasted great. I do wish that they had sweet tea or lemonade as a fountain type drink. They could also do a better job cleaning each theater after the movie. read more

Tygart Valley Cinema is good for people who are just looking to see the latest hot releases at an affordable price. They rarely (if ever) show independent releases, which can be a turn off for some. Regardless, this theater does provide the latest shows. If you are accustomed to large movie theaters with the newest surround sound, recliner seats, and/or pricey snack bar items, then Tygart Valley Cinema may seem unappealing. However, if you are just looking to get out of the house and see a flick with your significant other, coworker, BFF, or teammates without shelling out a fortune, then Tygart Valley Cinema is the place for you! read more

Affordable, correction, way more affordable than any other cinema in North Central WV. Venue is decently clean and staff is friendly and well trained. Only complaint is that they need to keep the teens and rude adults from talking too much during show. I feel like they've been on that more recently. Glad this place exists! read more

I can take my family of four, get tickets, get everyone a FRESH popcorn with butter, a box of candy and a drink and not have to take out a mortgage on my home. Seriously,, though, we did just this last night and spent about 40 bucks. For everything. The facility is older, but it is always clean. Old movie posters adorn the walls, and there's seating along the hallway if you're waiting for someone. The staff make an effort to clean up between shows, so your feet don't stick to the floors in the cinemas. The seats are generally comfortable, and the projection equipment is all digital, by Barco. Dolby THX sound, and the volume is appropriate, not loud. The sound insulation between cinemas is better than most big megaplexes, although you can still hear the occasional bass thump from next door. Refreshments are the standard theatre fare; what's amazing is that the prices are really quite good. The popcorn is always fresh and hot, the service is actually really good, and the people behind the counter will tell you what they think of a movie if you ask and they've seen it. So, go to the movies, and when you do, go to Tygart Valley. read more

I like to support local businesses and keep giving this place a try, but every time I'm disappointed. I guess I'm use to a cleaner environment while I'm watching a movie. I found the inside dirty & it smelled dank. They need to reinvest money back into this place to update it, clean it, change the air filters, clean & fix the chairs, clean the grungy carpets. If nothing else, at least do a deep cleaning. After leaving this place, I couldn't take a shower fast enough. read more

Old school theatre which we love. Has a bunch of old movie posters hanging around. Also super cheap prices for tickets and food. They show popular movies that just come out. We have watched movies the first day they were released here. It is our favorite movie theater and we will definitely come here for all of our date nights read more

This theater has been around for as long as I could remember. For a college student, it definitely is ideal for a low budget being that it's only $4.50 before 5pm and $6.50 for anytime after that. No it's not the nicest theater around but it does show new movies for a great price and it gets the job done. But I agree, the theater can use a make over. read more

I hate it when I see petty complaints on most of the reviews on this site. Especially when it's about something as small as 'This place needs updated decor' so go 15-20 more minutes to another cinema then. If it wasn't for this Cinema all of us in this area would be going yet another 15-20 minutes to the other cinema here. I myself am glad this Cinema is here, convenient and way cheaper in ticket price than most Cinema's and their snacks are half the price of Cinemark's highly priced ones. The decor is older and I think that adds to it's charm, because it's just like it was back in the day. The owner and his wife are polite, they update what needs to be updated, their bathrooms are clean, they have good prices and they show all the new movies. I go there unless there is a movie I would like to see in 3D and even with that I understand a family owned business can't dish out tons of money to have a 3D theater. Most people don't get the fact that Cinemark is a franchise with tons of theaters and Tygart Valley Cinema is owned and operated by two people who have kept it running for quite some time and have done a great job of it in my opinion. read more

The theater is clean including the bathrooms. The previews before the movie had the sound turned up and it was painful. I went and the attendant to turn it down. By the time I got back to my seat the sound was fine. The movie Case for Christ was a very well produced flick! read more

My husband and I were seeing Olympus Has Fallen yesterday. Another couple came in late and started using their cell phones. My husband went into the lobby twice to report it. The lobby was dark with no employees in attendance each time. After the movie was over we went and spoke to the cashier. She got the "manager" I believe and he immediately took an attitude with us. Told us that he wouldn't do it again but here is a couple of passes for the movies. Asked us if they were talking out loud. We informed him no only texting but the screens were very bright. Pretty much the attitude that we got was HE DIDN'T CARE IF PEOPLE USE THEIR CELL PHONES there was nothing he could do. Our other concern is where is your employees during the movies. If there had been a real emergency in the theater, we were on our own. I do not feel like this is a safe atmosphere to send my child in with friends to see a movie. We will take our business else where. read more
