The Johnson, AR location is the original for this multi location restaurant. The other locations…read moreare good, but there's something about the original. This location was recently renovated. You have to get the TX-style brisket. The green beans are sweetened and unique as far as green beans go. Service is quick; order at the counter and your order is ready when you arrive at the cash register.

Three stars = okay. And that's what Wright's is. There, I said it. It's okay Q with a ton of…read moremarketing that is cruising on its long-time relationship with the area. Sure, the stores are nice and neat and tidy. Very "southern comforting" type of design. The staff is friendly, but only because it's running on Southern manners, lacking the charm. The food is good. If you gave it to me, I would eat it and not complain. Since I bought it, I will say it's okay, but certainly not legendary. Brisket was perfectly tender but not particularly flavorful. The ribs and chicken were both good, with the chicken (oddly) being the most flavorful thing I tried. Sides are overwrought and unbalanced. Back it off a bit, Wright's. The exception is the mac and cheese, which is the opposite and too much like Kraft with added cream. All the sides were meh. I will probably return if I'm nearby and there's no line. This place is definitely NOT worth waiting in a long line for--I'm not buying the hype. Okay

This place cured my depression (kind of). I don't know how I haven't left a review since I talk…read moreabout this restaurant to everyone I ever talk to. Seriously. Long story short I was not able to find any joy in life and was super down until I tried Wright's brisket and I decided that if there's really nothing else to live for, at least there's wright's brisket. I think about it pretty much daily I've had some 1000/10 and just some 10/10 but either way, I'm happy. I'm also very picky about ingredients but idc what is in their brisket or Mac and Cheese. I'll eat it any day. I haven't had anything bad from here. (But I haven't tried the coleslaw because ew)

The Dino beef rib was the special and it wasn't cheap but oh man was it great. 1.5 pounds of meat well seasoned and cooked till it fell off the bone. Definitely should have shared it bc I was over stuffed. Potato salad was typical and the collard greens were delicious. Youngest got 1/2 rack of ribs and said it was seasoned really good and cooked to just slight pull to get a clean rib. The brisket him and his mom both said was smokey flavorful and very tender. The macaroni was mediocre he said at best but my wife said the baked beans were some of the best she's ever had. This place is definitely on the return often lost. Oh and my son's dog loved the Dino rib bone.
