Service was great and interior very inviting. Ordered Hog Combo with brisket, sausage, ribs, mac n cheese and collard greens. Overall, the food needs more flavor. Ribs were dry and hard a jerky. Brisket was a little dry and lack flavor. I needed to drown the meat with the bbq sauce to be tasty. The sausage tasted good but it had a grainy texture and a little dry. Had delivery through DD, so don't have a dining, ambiance review. If you like your BBQ spicy (which I do NOT) this if for you! Absolutely NASTY! Ribs were dried out beyond belief and seemed packaged. Pulled pork dry beyond belief. Can't believe how far this place has fallen. It used to be our go to bbq. Not if ownership has changed or what happened but very sad! 6 people split 2 pounds of pork and a rack of we had a 1/2 rack and 1 1/2 of pork left; truly not edible. Really bad!! Pretty bummed. I walked in hungry and left still hungry $23 broker. My goal was just to get a solid sampler as a lunch. A few burnt ends, a few ribs, and some pulled pork. All of that would have been like $35 apparently so I settled for not having the pulled pork- and got a rib plate. 4 ribs some fries and a drink. I know everyone probably complains about the price of food but there's no way 4 of these ribs some fries and a drink should cost $23. I thought for that I would have gotten burnt ends with 4 ribs... nope! My first impression was negative with the unprofessional appearance of the individual behind the counter taking orders. When ask to take my order I was immediately drawn to a nose ring that was horseshoe shaped coming all the way down to her top lip. Stuff like that is a major turnoff in a restaurant environment. My aunt raves about this place. However, to be honest, it was fine, but nothing amazing. The one thing I did really like is the choice of six different bbq sauces representing many different regions. I seem to remember a number of years ago(at the Fort Smith location) that the food was pretty amazing. However, the Fayetteville one - I don't know how they got such high ratings. There are posts about Hugh Jackman saying this location was the best bbq. What I got for $47 was the puniest little rack of ribs. No meat on them whatsover. Just tiny little stringy sprigs that I had wrestle off the bones. I will say that the bbq sauce and potato salad were very good! However, I literally got less than one ounce of meat. The potato salad and bbq sauce was just a side. The only way the ribs were edible was with a ton of bbq sauce on them. read more

Fantastic BBQ in true Arkansas fashion! Great for groups, lunch, parties and so much more!! Tonight we actually came for the side to add to our dinner! The guys are smoking meats, family coming in town and us ladies just had too much to do to add the sides so Whole Hog to the rescue! We have also used them to cater meetings and family dinner nights. Normally I get the baked potato, I shouldn't have strayed from my normal. The meat is always delicious, but the amount on my "loaded" fries was....abysmal. Really disappointed with the amount they placed for the cost of the add on. read more

I saw the menu and was very excited until I got my plate, I waited to taste my food before I decided to write a WARNING review and caution people not to waste their money on this food, service and food were both below tolerable. I guess an empty restaurant at noon Should've been my first indicator. What a WASTE!!!! i'm not sure what award they won? Maybe the driest severed at room temperature ever award? I would not anticipate to come somewhere and be as disappointed. I mean come on Microwave BBQ I had to question the portion that I was given initially? And then I watched her put it in the microwave to warm it up rather than serve fresh food I spent $50 for two people to enjoy great BBQ lunch and disappointment is a huge understatement. Thanks to Covid-19, couldn't do the dine-in, so had to order for take out. I went with Whole Hog Platter - which comes with 4 bone rib, brisket, pulled pork with 3 sides and a roll. Picked up the order, got back into the car and started to eat. I was not a fan of the their coleslaw, the potato salad was ok, but their baked beans was awesome! I loved the hint of the spicy with each bite. Rib - tender and juicy - as it just came off the smoker. The bone just came out with no work required. Brisket - cut thin, it was good, not as juicy as I expected, but better then most places. Pulled Pork - moist and good, however there were some pieces that had dried out portions. Ended making a sandwich with the roll, coleslaw and pulled pork. Overall, good experience. Hope to experience dine-in next time I swing by. read more

Will not return to the Fayetteville location for several reason. I have dined at the one in Bentonville and it was much better. 1. They were out of multiple items including beef, chicken and ribs. Numerous side items. 2. Did not get our order right. Ordered two sandwiches got one. Then gave us too many. 3. Coleslaw was old and a small portion for the price. 4. BBQ pork was barely warm. 5. Called in ahead of time and ordered two pulled pork plates. When I got there (15-20 min after opening), I could tell they were busy. There were a few people dining in and several picking up orders. Even though the staff seemed very busy, everyone was super polite and smiled the entire time. They have so many trophies lined along the walls. Those trophies were definitely earned! Good well made BBQ with very good sides. The ribs are cooked just right. The meat comes away from the bone easily but doesn't fall off the bone. The pulled meats have great flavor, moist and tender. Prices are reasonable and they are dealing well with Covid restrictions, with lots of spacing between tables and staff wearing masks. The reason I am not giving them 5 stars (and this goes back to well before Covid and near empty restaurants), is the place lacks atmosphere. I did a courtesy wait of 20 minutes, walked in the store and inquired about my order, they said great it'll be done in a few minutes. Fantastic, took a seat waited 40 minutes- watching several people show up after myself, and receiving their orders within timely manner. I was in a great mood and joked with the cashiers standing in the window, leaning against the counters back there lol. When another of the cashiers saw me, she asked if I had been helped yet.. They already know what I want whenever I go in there and by the time I were getting my drinks and sit down that's how quick they can get my food ready and they're super quick. I enjoyed my meal at Whole Hog Café. I got a half rack of ribs and they were very good. The low sugar barbecue sauce was tasty with them. The food came out quickly. The restaurant was not too busy and I was able to have a quiet meal with my friend who also got ribs and said they were good. I was hoping the beans would have big pieces of meat in them but they didn't. And the portion cup of beans was quite small. The side salad with blue cheese dressing was good with big chunks of blue cheese. The roll was garbage. I felt like it was a little expensive for a place that doesn't even have waiters. I've eaten here twice and both times the food was delicious. These guys seem to really know their BBQ and have won some impressive awards for their cooking! I had the pulled pork sandwich plate which came topped with coleslaw and accompanied by two additional sides. I chose baked beans and the potato salad. The beans had a nice taste and the potato salad was sour-cream-based which was different but quite tasty. My BF had the special - the pulled rib sandwich - and said it was tender and flavorful, but he thought they were stingy on the single-scoop portion of baked beans (he's from Texas). My aunt said she really likes the chicken, but this time she ordered the nachos and wasn't too impressed. My uncle really likes their ribs. They offer six different BBQ sauces which can be found at each table so you can try them all. It was a difficult decision, but I think I like number three the best. I'll just have to go back and try them all again :). I was a bit disappointed in the decor - a generic, concrete-floored, formica-tabled affair with only one dead animal on the wall. (Half a hog? Really, wouldn't a WHOLE hog be more appropriate?) I enjoyed the ambient lighting but some wood and maybe a stuffed opossum or armadillo would be a nice touch (guess I've been in Texas too long). Whole Hog Cafe is a gem that is overlooked in NWA. They are located in the Fiesta Square. When you first walk in you will notice that Whole Hog has a large display of the trophies they have won over the years for their BBQ. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. The employees are very friendly and welcoming. I believe Whole Hog has one of the best ribs in NWA. On the weekends they have smoked chicken wings and they are AMAZING!!!!! If you are looking for a nice little spot for BBQ and don't want to fight the crowds of other establishments in this area then you should give Whole Hog a try. read more

First time for Whole Hog, ordered one of their platters that had a little of everything. Restaurant was slow with about 4 tables filled, I ordered it to go, and had to wait about 15 minutes heard my name called walked up to the counter no one there. As I left to view the rest of the sitting area there was 5-6 totally dirty tables and the employee I ever saw was when I ordered.
