They are fantastic. I had a very tight window to be moved and they came through. Very professional, helpful, friendly and understanding of my needs. I used them for the packing of my belongings . They came back two days later , loaded everything onto their van and then reloaded everything on to a POD that was delivered to their business.. Absolutely nothing was broken or damaged. I have moved a lot but I can safely say this was the best. It is family owned and run. They try very hard to be accommodating it shows. I would highly recommend them. read more

I worked here off and on over the years. Scott does the best job he can considering constant changes by some customers, some last minute. Although you can't please everybody I have never seen him not try to do so. People do occasionally say they will have things ready before U&I come to move them. Sometimes that is FAR from the case. This reflects in the time for the move and the price. A lack of preparation that has been previously discussed does not mean things will go according to the original estimate. It isn't rocket science, it is called REALITY in the face of a lack of responsibility with preparation. I have personally seen this a decent amount of times and have no sympathy for those that refuse to see the obvious in that situation. Personal Responsibility. Google it.... I cannot give U&I more than 5 stars but I would! We moved into a new build and of course the moving date changed several times. U&I was very patient and worked with us through all the dates until the final moving day. We found that once home buyers and sellers, realtors, contractors for home repairs, etc., learn that you are moving out of state or from another state, there is a great opportunity to be taken advantage of. You feel as if you joined the "All-American Suckers Club". Through this entire ordeal, U and I Movers has been the ONLY ( and I mean ONLY) business or person that has been fair and honest. They did a great job packing our home, including many valuable antiques, and moved them to Green Bay without so much as a scratch. Their team was professional and efficient. Do NOT trust the estimate. Do NOT trust the reviews on their webpage. Scott and Karla will give you an estimate you can live with and then when the move is complete add 40% and blame you. Scott underestimated the job, ignored multiple verbal and in writing statements that we needed to be out by 11am. He called in additional help to get us out in time and charged us overtime. I tried to resolve this without doing a Google review but they ignored my calls and emails except for an unannounced visit to my new house where Scott tried to dispute it on our front lawn. Fair warning - I love hometown businesses but despite an extensive amount of grace extended to U & I movers express I am reporting them to the BBB and to YOU- the most important voice for change. Long story short: if you would like to have a price stated for your belongings to be moved - (after sending itemize furniture list, house square footage, etc), have U & I fill their truck 2/3 of the way and then triple your price, bring more men then stated & charge you for it and then break your nicest piece of furniture... U & I movers are for you. But for those of you that can't resist salting an abrasion - U & I movers express will be sure to assure you that the parts they broke will be fixed. Every week. I used them for my move in November. Though my move was scheduled a month in advance, when I called them the week before to verify everything, they tried to change the date and time. Not once but three times. Did not even give me a reason as to why. I never would have even known about the change until later, had I not called them first! My move was from a storage unit to my new home. All they had to do was load and unload. The unload took longer than the load (which Scott had initially told me would take less time). I am also missing some of my boxes. No idea where they ended up. According to two other moving places that I consulted after my move, they grossly overcharged me! Their customer service and care is terrible. I would not recommend this company to anyone... EVER! read more

Cannot hold to their pricing or timelines - The initial meeting at my home and phone conversations went well with this company. Owner Scott was able to offer suggestions and explained services available. However - this mover was unable to arrive as scheduled for both the pickup and the delivery and tried to double the cost of my initial estimate for moving services. Using them cost me lost time from work and they expect to be paid over $3000 for a 1/3 truckload move. Gouging at it's best - BEWARE!! read more

SHIPPER BEWARE! After entering into what I thought was going to be a great business relationship, I am extremely disappointed in the lack of responsibility and sense of fairness. I, like Bethany, prefer to do business with small, hometown businesses whenever possible. I trusted and believed in the owner. U&I did work with me on an unforeseen extended storage of my things (they did charge extra fees for handling, which was totally understandable.) When it came time to deliver though, many items were damaged and many lost. I filed a claim. I was told the lost items were found and would be delivered with the next move to the region (they travel to the southeast a lot). One year and 3 months later (yes 15 months!), after threat of further action, they scheduled delivery for 5 of 9 items (the other 4 were lost). Only 1 was actually delivered. My baby grand piano was damaged, i.e. scratching of the acrylic finish due to improper packing and rubbing while in transit, and cracks in the finish due to moisture. U&I stated they are not liable, as wood changes over time....not like this! After a lot back and forth on values and costs of losses and damages, I was made a final settlement offer. I refused the offer, and provided backup documentation on what I thought was fair. They "stood by" their assessment. I asked for information on their arbitration process. ATTENTION: According to federal regulations movers are required to provide information, including costs, on the arbitration process they use. Instead of providing this information, U&I stated that arbitration would not be of any value because "there is no money left." They said to me that I "should cash the check while there was still money to cover it". I asked again for information on their arbitration process, and finally received it. BUYER BEWARE! read more

Worst Moving Experience Ever. Avoid U & I Moving! Scott and Karla are not to be trusted! I contacted Scott and Karla approximately 3 years ago to pack my home, place all items in storage and then move to a new home. I have an extensive art collection including ceramics and had paid Scott and Karla a significant amount of money to have these fragile items professional packed in wooden crates. I was assured that they had extensive experience in packing art work. The items were removed separately from the house and taken to their warehouse where I was told they would be professional packed. I was also told that all items would be wrapped and stored in a climate controlled environment as well as being told that they only use their own employees and never hire "temporary" help. After the items were in storage for 3 years, U & I then moved my items to my house across the country. Upon receipt of the items, it became clear that the art was never packed professionally in wooden crates, instead much of it was packed with paper in cardboard boxes and the paintings that were supposed to be crated were placed in between mattresses. Many of the art pieces were broken beyond repair and several of the paintings had rips in the canvases where it was clear they were dragged across the floor. Much of the furniture was dirty and there was mold growing on several pieces-it was clear that the furniture was not kept in a climate controlled facility. In addition, Scott did not bring his own employees to move and unpacked as he had promised; instead he hired local help that he had never worked with. Even though he was supposed to oversee the move and the unpacking, after the initial several hours of the move, Scott left the site and did not return until late the following day. The person that Scott left to supervise the move spent most of his time sleeping in the truck. In addition, Scott charged me for 2 full moving vans even though the second truck was only half loaded and a much smaller (and cheaper) truck could have been used. It turned out that Scott had another job in AZ and he needed the second trailer. When Scott returned to the move, I showed him the damage and confronted him regarding the lack of appropriate packing and crating. He initially denied that I had paid for crating until I showed him the original invoice. He then assured me that he would appropriately reimburse for the damaged art. I quickly learned that Scott has no problem lying, whether to you in person, in emails or on the phone. In addition, while the items were in storage, I had taken out an insurance policy with U & I for additional protection at the cost of $327/month. It turns out that they never took out the additional policy - a fact that I had learned when I filed my claim. Obviously, I am attempting to recover the costs of the damages to my art work, furniture, and other items. Two months ago, Scott had assured me that he was in active discussions and negotiations with his insurance company, and I was assured of payment for a mutually agreed upon amount. I was told several times that the "check was in the mail". When the money never arrived, I called the insurance company directly, and was told that there had never been any discussions with Scott on payment. I am now in the process of filing a lawsuit against U & I for negligence and damage to my property. You have many choices in northern WI - please go elsewhere and avoid U & I. There are several very negative reviews where others have had similar issues. Please do not ignore these reviews - I truly wish that I had listened to them. read more

BEWARE.... used the about 3 1/2 yrs. ago to move to milwaukee, then again about 6 months ago to move back to Green Bay, WOW what a difference. First move went great, second was a bunch of misleading representations and and hold ups. You would think I had contacted a completely different company. Extremely disappointed in consignment shop. At the end of business, we had a difficult time obtaining consignment check. Received a call from U & I in January informing us of the sale and letting us know that our check would be mailed the first of February. At the end of February, I called to follow up, and they had completely forgotten to write it out. On March 1st, we received a call indicating that instead of mailing it to us as promised in January, and contracted 6 months prior, we were informed of a policy change. If we wanted the check, we had to pick it up. Upon further questioning, their ultimate goal was to get the customer back into the store for further business rather than have to release contracted funds. Run from these movers, don't walk!! I spoke with the owner before I used about the 2/5/16 review and she claimed it was just a misunderstanding between them and the reviewer. I should have followed what Bethany wrote. I asked and received an estimate to move some furniture out of my home, store it and move it back when home renovations were complete. I wasn't home when Scott arrived for the review of the move for the estimate, however, my contractor was and was shocked at the behavior of the moving company and warned me about utilizing them. I should have stopped but went ahead any way. On the day of the move, the lead mover named Kelly was rude and completely disrespectful to his crew. I am not sure why any of the others would work with him. When it came to pay, I paid 1/2 of the estimate thinking that was the cost of the move, with the other have to be paid upon completion of the job. They were at my house for less than 2 hours and charged for 4 because of travel time and storage unloading. I was traveling for several weeks, when I returned, I received an email demanding payment for the rest of the "estimate" When I inquired about it, I was told that the estimate only included the move out, even though that was not clearly written on the estimate, only time allotted for the move. When I asked how much it would be to move my furniture back, I was not given an answer, only that I had to pay the remainder of the bill. I said I wouldn't pay it until I was given a date my furniture would be moved back and a cost. Again I was refused an answer, basically they were holding my furniture hostage. I had to get an attorney involved to get this resolved. They did discount the first move slightly. However, since they were so vague on details I had them move almost everything into our garage on the move back with the exception of a few larger pieces of furniture. They were at my house for 1 hour and charged me for 4 because they said they spent 3 hours getting my furniture out of the container. All in all I was charged much more than the estimate. When I have moved other movers in the past, the estimate was detailed and right on with what needed to be moved. Do not expect to pay what the "estimate is" and don't base your decision on that. I will be also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau with more details. read more
