This is a great alternative to Almanac if you want a more relaxed experience for sipping on some…read morebeers. All the beers on draft are high-quality, utilizing malt from Admiral Maltings. Their kitchen is small but has some quality offerings. We really enjoyed their poutine tots which were really tots smothered in a béchamel sauce and garnished with green onions. What it means is that the cheese sauce stays soft and smooth even after being on your table for awhile. The chicken salad sandwich and the bean and rice bowl with pulled pork added were both pleasant surprises. The Artisan Bread crispy sandwich loaf really made the sandwich and the variety of additions to the bean and rice bowl made for a great meal. On a day with great weather you can sit outside but there are also some booths inside that overlook the back of house where the malt is laid out on the chilled floor. The tour is interesting and insightful if you have a chance to take it.

We bike out here monthly from Oakland, kinda like we need the fix. Never disappoints. The Rake…read moreprovides malt for lots and lots of breweries in Cali and they therefore have most of them on tap. So it's fun to try some beers we haven't been to (or at least in a while). Something for every beer taste, and food is scrumptious and shareable. Almanac is next door but it's turning into a zoo, you'll see what I mean. Regardless, go one building further to The Rake and you'll be happy along with your tastebuds. We biked, casually, around the Oakland Estuary over the Park Street bridge. Once in Alameda you can ride safely on a dedicated bike lane/path all the way to the brewery. Then a shortcut back is the free water shuttle. Fun afternoon.

We sat outside in their parklet and had the most amazing array of food. I had the salmon salad, which was so fresh, and tasted the rainbow rice and was blown away by the corn fritters. The staff at Spinning Bones were friendly, attentive, and helpful. Highly recommend this place for any meal really!

Been here for a few Father's days cuz my husband loves this place. So far in our visits we've…read moretried: corn fritters, beet salad, St. Louis pork ribs, Trip's Triple, Tsukune Sando, Fried Chicken Sando, Pork Roti, and many of the speciality sodas like POG etc. It's been a solid 5 star place so far, we've only come for special occasions. However last Thur we came for dinner and brought some friends who were excited to try this place for the first time. Beet salad: 5/5 Ribs: 5/5, coleslaw: 1/5 why is the coleslaw not good? It's very soggy and wet and taste old, not crisp and refreshing as it should be... Pls improve the recipe for this... Our to-go order was close to $40, for some ribs and coleslaw, coleslaw did not eat Chicken Sando: 4.5/5 Pork Roti: 3/5 good flavor but pork was chewy and fatty Corn fritters: 4.5/5 Trips Triple: Tri-tip was good 5/5, but not a fan of the chicken 1/5, pork shoulder ok 2/5 would only order the tri-tip again from this combo Service was fine and ambiance cool
