Fantastic service today from Cristiano (sp?) at Mobile Klinik in Metropolis at Metrotown. Went in…read moreto see if they could bring my old Samsung phone back to life after it up and died on me yesterday. Was hoping all it needed was a new battery. Considering it's probably 5 years old (could even be older than that) it had finally given up the ghost. So next prospect is a new phone, which I really hadn't planned on. They have some reconditioned used iPhones, which interested me, especially since they have the same one-year warranty new phones have. I wouldn't buy a used phone online or just randomly off someone, but with the warranty I figured I'd go for it and save some money. And I know where I can bring it back to if there's a problem with it. Cristiano spent a lot of time explaining to me why my Samsung couldn't be revived and what my options were in the reconditioned iPhones he had available. I felt he really paid attention to what I wanted and my need to keep the price low as possible. He never pushed me to spend more money on a newer/better option. I came away with an iPhone 12, with which I'm already familiar because there's one in the family and the owner of that one is chuffed to bits with it. He even suggested I check with my cell service provider (also in the mall) to see if they would offer me a better deal, which I thought was extremely fair and honourable of him. I have no hesitation in recommending Mobile Klinik to anyone who needs repairs or a replacement phone or accessories. Great service! I will definitely go back for any phone-related needs.

This is a kiosk by Walmart that sells phone accessories. They also do phone repairs on the spot…read more Sharp kid behind the counter who can do all these repairs on the go. I must say I was impressed. This store does the repairs as well for the U-Frame booth which is located 50m away by the atrium. I came here to do 3 repairs: 1) charging port repair 2) battery replacement 3) (cracked) screen replacement. The charging port was my initial reason for using these guys. A certain fruit company upstairs refused to do the repair so I was either looking at a booth like this one, or tossing the phone. They gave me a bit of a discount since the phone was already getting opened up. The guy from U Frame mentioned that they use factory fruit parts. I can confrm this based on what I saw when they were installing the parts. The charging port repair was brilliant. The replacement port works just like new. Very impressed. The battery replacement was also done well. No problems there. The screen was the tricky one. I know that the fingerprint sensor data is stored in the screen module instead of the motherboard. They were able to transplant the sensor into their new screen. I was impressed. Keep in mind that a certain "natural lighting" feature gets disabled when this replacement is done. The menu simply disappears. I've heard this feature can be enabled with some special hardware where they transplant the screen serial information over. Something to keep in mind. The reason I am giving 3 stars instead of 4 is that my phone earpiece stopped working after the phone was repaired and returned to me. The guy told me they checked everything, so I just paid them and left. I only realized it didn't work 20 minutes later when trying to make a call, so I had to go back and fight the holiday hordes. They had to open up the phone and replace the earpiece module which contains the front camera and proximity sensor. After the replacement was done, the front camera stopped working. Turns out there was sticker they forgot to remove. They had to open up the phone again. The part where I was choked was that they then charged me for the price of a new earpiece when they had clearly broken it during the repair. After some arguing back and forth I basically had no choice but to shell out for the part replacement. Not like I had a choice at that point when my phone was already in pieces, and obviously I needed a working phone. When everything was done, the repair had taken 2h or so longer than anticipated, and I was out an additional $45 for the replacement earpiece. For this reason, I would stick to the official repairs for as much as possible to prevent headaches like this. With that said, I am very grateful that they were able to replace the charging port.

NOT TO BE TRUSTED. I took my phone in for a screen replacement. I was told it would take a "few"…read morehours...delay after delay, not once did they call to tell me it would be delayed, I had to call each time to check. When I finally went to pick it up 2 days later, I was told my original battery was dead and they replaced it with a "new" one and they were going to charge me $15...It was a generic battery. I said hell no! My phone was less than 1 year old when my screen broke AND someone warned me of something like this so I charged up my battery some weeks before and let it drain out. I know my battery was still good. I told him there is no way my battery is dead, put my original battery back. He said yes but I had to come back another day since the technician left already. I went back the next day and the guy assured me my original battery is back in...I doubted it but other than paying someone else to open it up again to confirm, I took my phone back. Workmanship is terrible. It was not put back together well, you can tell it had been opened, it didnt close tight. I would post a picture if I could. A few days into using it, I noticed I couldn't double tap to turn screen on, swipe screenshot doesn't work, my biometrics (finger print) don't work. I went back and told the guy the issues. He told me "yeah, that's what happens when you replace a screen". I did not know that, nor was I told - lesson learned. I would NEVER recommend anyone to this place.
