I tried to save time by using the self-check in feature online. I arrived, found my assigned truck, and started the process. The manager at this location came out with a set of keys, but they were for a different truck, and he assured me that it was fine and then left. Since the truck number didn't match the information entered in the online system, none of my information (gas gauge, mileage, damage, etc.) could be entered correctly when getting the truck or dropping it off. When I received a copy of my contract, it was not for the truck I was driving. When I dropped the truck off, the online system told me that the cost was well over $1000 instead of ~$150 as it should have been. Over the course of the move, I did contact customer service about my concerns, and the manager at this location responded quickly and explained things well. However, the online system is so flawed that I don't understand why it's even in use. Luckily, everything worked out in the end. The many, many hassles were completely unnecessary.

I snapped a picture of the fuel level guage before i left the UHaul premises to use the van and it was just a bit above the 1/2 tank mark. I filled the tank up a little more than the fuel level guage, before i brought it back and i had to pay MORE MONEY, in fact 2 times the actual price of gas! I will never use UHaul for a van or truck rental. The fuel level indicator on the paper contract is fraudulent.

You have to call the actual hardware store itself. I had to ask an employee at a neighboring company where the entrance was, and that's how I found out. Upon arrival, it took about 10 minutes for a Penske associate to come and assist me after being paged. Next, I was told that the truck I had reserved wasn't available, even though two were sitting outside. I was told I'd have to get a larger truck at no additional cost to me. I did not want that. I wanted the truck I reserved. It was then that I found out that, though my reservation was for that day, the other person who had reserved the same-size truck wasn't due to pick up her truck until three days later. The associate called and asked if the renter for the Monday reservation would be okay with a larger truck, so I could get the truck I reserved, but she refused. I was told they didn't have my truck available. Then magically, the truck showed up after I pointed out that there were two of the same-sized trucks outside that I had reserved. Apparently, one of their staff members did not inventory one of the trucks into the system after it was returned. So, I wound up getting the truck I reserved. The entire process took close to 40 minutes. I was frustrated, and no compensation was offered for my troubles. This wasn't impressive, given it was my first time renting from Penske. The associate seemed incompetent and disorganized, to say the least. It was a horrible experience. The truck didn't seem stable while I was driving, but it got me to my destination safely. I don't blame Penske for the issue; I blame only this particular location. My advice? RUN!!!

Before that, I did not know about Avis so I went to every other car renting place in Charlotte, but none of them had cars available. I was devastated because I actually booked the car at enterprise 3 days prior the trip and the last minute they told me that they did not have a car for me. After running and calling every where, I found Avis Budget, came there in tears because I thought I am going to have to cancel my trip now. But they gave me a car in 2 minutes!!! I was so happy!! No trouble, simple, easy, fast and always available! And cheaper and more affordable!! Thanks God, Enterprise did not have a car for me because it worked out very well at the end! Tim was able to get us 2 - 53' refrigerated trailers and 6 - 26' box refrigeration trucks for a beer festival. Tim was on top of it making sure that everything was picked up and delivered as promised. When we ran into an issue with the dock we were using, he was able to do some quick thinking and get a tech on-site for us on Saturday morning before the event. I could not recommend Tim or Ryder more for the services provided to us on May 4. I will 100% be using them again.
