I will be careful here and narrate "unbiasedly" my experience at this U-Haul. I brought my 2017 Lexus NX there for a hitch and the wiring thereof. While they did not have the "plug-n-play harness they still proceeded and performed the installation without the "easy kit". I get home and a couple days later hook-up a small trailer to the car. The wiring is WRONG. The trailer lights are wired to a "constant hot" and even when the car is off the tail lights remain on. My bike rack also has lights (as it obscures the tail-lights) and I leave this on all the time - but can no longer have "tail/brake/turn signal" working due to this faulty installation job by the Coos Bay U-Haul! I have gone back no less that 4 times. All 4 times they asked to return on such and such a day/time. Each time I came at the appointed time and got the run around: "sorry, we booked and install for this/that time can you come back later. Based on my experience this is a dealer to stay away. I speculate that most of their installs go fine - its relatively simple and repeated work at which they can become proficient. BUT My experience is if something goes awry - they absolutely will not fix the problem - even. The added time for my to drive there over and over and get nothing done is clearly them making it so they never do a thing to correct their own erroneous work and installation. my recommendation based on this is to stay away! read more

My daughter was treated disrespectfully by agent & manager by stating she had made numerous calls & texts thus refused to rent to her. Then overstepped their boundaries even further by looking up her profile on social media and making a rude comment about it. She has never contacted U-Haul before today and at this point probably never will. read more

This is the slowest UHaul center in the country. Saturday at noon there are 7 people in line at the counter with NO ONE at the counter. They are seriously understaffed. Go elsewhere if you can. This place is a mess. read more

This biggest disaster I've ever had. These people are unreasonable and not at alll helpful. We had a medical emergency and had to change our drop off location, which I understand could come with some fees. But double what we actually paid for the trailer it self!! We call and tried to reason with them due to my 8month old being on oxygen i couldn't just jump up and meet them in person so we called. They couldn't help us, so we told them fine we will bite the bullet and pay. We dropped off the trailer and made arrangements to make a couple payments and a couple weeks later they charged our card for the entire amount. AFTER making arrangements and telling them they didn't have permission to run our card for the full amount they did anyway. We are unhappy! This is a huge chuck of money that we planned to make a couple payments on! Couldn't be more disappointed in a company. WE WILL NEVER use them again. We will continue to tell our friends, family, co workers, and everyone NOT to use these dishonest people. UPDATE. They continue to double charge our account after speaking with them about starting the refund process. read more

The U-Haul U-Box system to continues to be a complete fiasco. After numerous emails, phone calls, and in-person visits to ensure that our boxes are still in storage in Coos Bay, and to make sure we're current on our box storage rent, along comes an email this morning stating that we're being dinged $15 per U-Box as a late charge for not having paid our "room" storage rent. The stupidest part? Even though U-Haul has a credit card on file -- the same one we used to rent the boxes and have them trucked home to Oregon -- they're offering to waive this late charge if we let them charge this rent to a credit card. An absolutely amazing level of disorganization. read more

Horrible service and very rude charged us money for being 2 days late when we had a flat tire that came with the uhaul and had to wait a day to get a new one and this was from a diffrent state and they charged us for being late when they weren't even the ones to help went in there and told them they charged up and said it was the mains offices fault when another office with a manger can't make a diffrent place with another manger do something the billing came from them not the office we didn't even sign anything to have them charge us we go in and the lady says only the assistant manager was there then the manger walks in the store to help someone else t he wasn't listening because he was with someone else like he can't multitask then we tell him we're going to cancel on the credit card and he slammed his hand down and said go ahead call 800 uhaul knowing they won't do shit because they fucked us completely ignored us and went on with the other costumer no proof of anything because nothing was sent GREAT PLACE GREAT SERVICE fucking assholes but 5star out of 1 don't recommend don't come they are complete jerks NOT TO MENTION 2 flat tires and they charged us when they didn't even help read more

Wonderful, friendly, helpful service to boot! The manager there is extremely nice and accomodating. We didn't rent a truck, but we did go there for all types of packing supplies and a dolly rental. We were treated great all the way thru, which is nice since moving is a really stressful experience. Another thing I really liked about them, is that they have a bin full of boxes that are free there. You can bring your old ones in and/or take ones that other people have donated. It's their way of recycling and keeping costs down for customers. Remember that next time you have an odd shaped box that someone (including yourself) could use for a move! ;) read more

It depends on who is working there at the time. One person went out of his way to look in the back for more book sized boxes for me. Meanwhile, the other person working there at the time told me they had no more book boxes, until I informed him that someone else was looking for them for me in the back. Thank goodness the first person was willing to look for the boxes in the back! Thank you to that person! I also distinctly remember being told that they are open every day from 7 till 7. So on one Sunday morning, I showed up at 8:35am. The door was open and there were two men working there. I walked in the door to get the one box I needed, and was promptly told that they don't open until 9. The only place to park was directly in the sun, so I was basically forced to sit outside next to their unlocked door, waiting for the official opening time of 9am to roll around to buy my one box so I could get on with moving out of my house. Yes, technically they didn't have to let me in until 9 (which they didn't). Okay, I can't technically complain about this, but at the same time I wouldn't call this going above and beyond with customer service. Very mediocre. Also, my husband paid a lot of money to rent a large truck, and let's just say they did not go out of their way with helping us save any money there. They have a great selection of boxes and at least one person working there went out of his way to help me, but the two others? Meh. read more

This U-Haul is the best one I have ever used (and you are talking to a person who I lived in 3 states in 5 years) They were helpful and gave me a great deal on my truck/trailer with a price match and even threw in a few days I was moving to San Diego and he made sure I got a new truck for the trip, I have always used U-Haul but Coos Bay had the best customer service I have ever had the privilege of using!
