Got a call the day before on when my containers would be delivered, 8-12. I had a doctors appointment in the afternoon and told my daughter to go to work, that the boxes were coming early and I would be able to make my appointment. At 11:30, I called and asked if they were going to be late, please let me know as I had things to do and I could go if they were running late. The woman said they would be here shortly but she didn't have to drivers number. Here it is 2:07, not even a call to let me know they are sorry and will be here in an hour, two hours....NOTHING! I should have made arrangements to trailer them myself! The warehouse is within a couple miles from me. I don't recommend them at all! Some nice people that are trying but the processes are horrid and actually getting the job (hitch installed) done properly good luck. Background: takes me 40 min to drive to the store... they require 1.5 - 2hrs (allegedly) to do the job... basically blocking off an entire afternoon. 1st attempt to install a fail cause they didn't have the correct hitch (somehow got put in the system as a 1.5" instead of 2"-ordered via call to the central system) and they didn't have the right part in stock. Manager did great job of trying to make right and we were able to find a time/day (I had a very narrow window due to trips) for a redo-- and this was clear to them. Show up for round 2 (I was early). Three guys working. They seem surprised when I showed up (appointment had been booked 2 weeks ago so??) and they pass the job to one of them...When they look it up --yup 1.5 hr job per their system. I walk to a nearby store and coffee shop to pass the time and show up back 1.5 hrs later... My "installer" is now the only one in the store handling customers and hasn't gotten through my install. Ok fine be back in a bit and do some more walking. After another 30 min... I show back up... and he is still the only one in the store and still hasn't finished my install. My dog was at the vet and had 30 min at that point to pick her up. Explained that to the guy who then rushed to finish it... not getting the wiring "as clean" as he'd like (what does that even mean?). But, in a rush I figured I'd look at it later. Note: 2hrs 20 min (not including the 10 min early I showed up) for a BOOKED appointment. I see the hitch and I about blew a gasket ... I was VERY clear and was assured the hitch wouldn't drop my ground clearance (I will attach a picture) close to 3 inches lower than my bumper. I tell the installer I was unhappy with lack of ground clearance (some poor worker bee). And, left to get my dog. I live in rural montana...on dirt roads... I bottomed out on this hitch on my way home (dry roads -- no snow or mud). Just unacceptable. Once I had my dog, I figured I'd call for a manager enroute home. Store phone sends me to corporate... Corporates phone tree makes me pick from Uhaul truck rental options. I pick one (cause the tree scolded me for not making an option)...wait on hold for 5 min... get someone that says I need the hitch people and I'm like "no kidding but there was no option" he says "i'm well aware". Clearly hitch folks are a 2nd rate customers to uhaul. So I get forwarded to the hitch people... I say I want to leave a message for the manager. He says let me see if I can get him if not he would get a direct message to him. Cool... phone connects to the store, there is no hand off by customer service, corporate just drop the call as soon as someone answers. But it is the poor workerbee and the manager is STILL not there. Left a message with my installer to have the manager call me and tell me how he was going to make it right. I get home and try to enter my complaint details on the uhual concern webpage... I run out of characters not much after describing my first appointment... par for the course... they just don't care to hear. I go to do a review on their website and they have to email me a permission link?? ... an hour later I still haven't gotten it so cannot submit a uhual review. Smart to not send a review link to a customer that is ticked off. So, I am posting EVERYWHERE else I can find. Just avoid this clown show for hitches. Used to be the go to place. :( read more

This place is terrible. Besides getting the rental truck I needed for one day (the only reason why it's one star). The man who was 'helping' me was very rude and condescending! When he asked for my address, I gave it to him like 'NW #th St' (because that's how it is where I grew up and I had literally JUST moved to the area) and he was like, 'no, that's not a real address'. Excuse me, you know exactly what I meant, you don't have to be a savage jerk about it and to a customer?! I bit my tongue and we made our way to the truck. I will never understand why he felt the need to explain to me how to operate the window cranks and the door locks, but that's exactly what he did. Ready for the kicker? U-Haul was 5 hours late. Should have called and let us know when it was there. Not when someone said they were dropping it off. Then when I asked why they didn't call the younger guy gets mad at me. Great service guys NOT. The only reason it didn't get one star was the older guy was very nice and apologetic. He should teach the younger guy some manners. read more

We reserved 3 UBoxes several days before our big move out day. Me: Can we have the UBoxes available for two days so we can split up the move? Employee: No...it would clog up traffic too much. Me:They will definitely be ready the morning that we need them, right? Employee: Oh, yes I open that day and will pull them out for you. Me: Great. Let's rent a truck and pick it up the day before. Employee: No problem. Move out day arrives and SURPRISE: Employee: The UBoxes will not be ready. Maybe tomorrow or next week. Me: Why? That is unacceptable. Employee: Well my guy called out sick and I can't do it all by myself. Unless you want to take over my job and do everything for me you have to wait. Me: That is not what you said at all 3 days ago. Employee: Call marketing if you don't like it. STATUS: Called corporate...waited on hold for a good while...spoke to a nice guy who connected us with a woman who accidentally hung up. Repeated the process again annnnnnd the person they connected us to (a district manager?), who does not have voicemail set up. Ultimately, corporate seemed sympathetic but unable to do much. UPDATE: The husband and I went to the store to get a refund on the truck we never used. The Employee from that morning managed to avoid us for an hour so we chilled in line with about 6 other customers. He told the customers in front of us that he would be off in 10 minutes and he was waiting for back up. Interestingly, not long after he made the comment that he would get off his shift soon, that he answered a phone call from someone named XXXXXXX whom he referred to as 'boss'. Employee told the person on the phone he (the Employee) told the lady that this afternoon the boxes would be ready. (Quite a different recollection of events, eh?). The Employee answered a few other questions that appeared to indicate that the boss was gathering basic info on the situation. When we get up to the counter, Employee's speech to us is that right after he told me that he could be of no help that day, he called his boss. That it was the fault of the manager that there was no one to help get out the UBoxes so we could move out today. There is still a hold on the money for the truck, but hopefully the refund process went through. Recap Timeline of move out day: 8:45ish in the morning Employee tells me that unless I do his job he cannot get the Uboxes today and that I should call corporate marketing if that was unsatisfactory. My husband and I have to cancel the move, and the people who had planned to help us. Attempts at phone calls to corporate are made until 9:25 which get us nowhere so husband and I head to the Uhaul store. We get done with them at Uhaul around 11:15. No one from corporate or otherwise has called us back. We have to delay moving (across the country) another week (Definitely not going with Uhaul). According to Sam, "It is not my fault," it is because of the boss, who did not call in a relief worker to help. Maybe this review will save someone some pain. read more

These guys are crooks. I took in propane bottles for filling and I normally pay $10 per tank (20 lbs). They charge $15 and didn't fill the tank full. I normally can heat my garage for 3-4 days with one of these tanks, but after filling here, my tank lasted for less than 14 hours. read more

Where to start...we used it because we had 1month of free storage with our move. Unfortunately the storage unit is located some distance behind a locked small door with no way to pull right up to it. Storage here is EXPENSIVE, like almost 150 bucks monthly. No lighting in the actual storage unit so enjoy stacking and loading in the dark. To top it off, we had a rat trap in our unit. When we came to pick up our stuff later, chew marks and rodent droppings in our stuff. If looking in GF, go elsewhere. read more

On Saturday afternoon my family's car broke down in Glacier National Park. After searching online (with our limited internet access in the park), we showed online that the only U-Haul open later that evening and to which we could haul a trailer was in Great Falls Montana. (There was another location in Kalispell, but we would be unable to pull a trailer from this location, due to the narrow roads in the park which prohibit trailers) I called U-Haul and was made a reservation for an after hours car dolly pickup, scheduled for 8:00 p.m. (Order number 89840442) After a three hour drive, we arrived at the U-Haul. We went inside and were told by the employee on site that he didn't know how we made the reservation and that his site didn't offer 24/7 pickups. He refused to serve us, stating that his computer was already down and there was nothing he could do. He then stated "For all I know, you guys are here trying to rob me." He kicked us out of the store and we drove another three hours back to our camp. I have never been treated so badly in a professional location. I resolved to call customer service to see how they could help with our mistreatment. The issue was never resolved; we made a new reservation for Helena. read more
