(I've been to other Discount outlets in the past that I suspect were more into providing employment opportunities for mentally challenged individuals than they were into renting cars to customers.) The bad news is that Discount is congenitally unable to provide cars to customers in a reasonable time. It ... just ... takes ... FOREVER to go through the simple process of handing over your license and credit card, signing some forms, and getting a car. And when you're in a lineup behind 4 other customers, each of whom takes inordinately long to be processed, you just wait and wait and WAIT. Ugh. I've had similarly awful service at other Discount outlets. I don't think it's this location. Bottom line, somebody at Discount HQ needs to Google "business process reengineering" and find a faster way to go from "here's my license and credit card" to "here are the car keys". Their competition can do it ... why can't Discount?

The man I got was so rude just kept saying go find your truck. No direction as to where. Thank god for the app as since it was self check in you can see a birds eye view of where the truck is. The first number I got for my truck which they don't tell you is located on the top right of the truck. Mine wasn't there so I had to click on can't find my truck. Finally was able to match the number. Ran back in as it was almost 10:30 and my truck started at 10. I asked if I could extend it then said no and if I really wanted to it was be 52 $ without taxes for 30 extra minutes. We had to throw most of my stuff out of the truck to zoom it back to store. We made it for 2 on the dot so nope wasn't charged thank god. The only thing we forgot to due was add 10$ of gas in as we didn't use much since we forgot they charged my card 28. Also when you do your reservation online watch out as they add a bunch of equipment to your cart. I had to call back as I noticed a week later there was furniture pads and dollys which I never asked for. They removed it on the phone the week before I was about to rent it. Also the only person who "helped" us was a lady in the parking lot said don't go past the yellow gate that our truck wouldn't be there. She also told us if we leave at 10:30 we could have the truck until 2:30. Wrong ! There was a 52$ fee if we wanted it. It cuts in to your reservation time. Would I recommend ? No Would I use them again ? I don't want to

The dispatcher told me on the 21st that the car was going to be delivered in two days, and I was to pay the balance. As any good customer I stupidly paid the balance. The company knew I needed the car delivered by the 23rd as I was going out of town for two weeks. Was unable to get a tracking number, and I found out this morning that the truck with my car is in Calgary. That was 700km in a week and a half, the excuse was the truck broke down (well get another one). The dispatcher Benjamin is lying through his teeth. This was a huge mistake hiring this company, I will never use them again ever, after this fiasco. So, the bottom line is the car won't be here by the time I leave the country, they have been paid in full, and I still don't have my car. I have tried calling the office and only get voice mail, left a few messages and no reply.

I owed a little extra for going over km's and they emailed a bill so I could get home faster. There was a mixup on the prepaid fuel and they worked with me to resolve it. In short, we arrived on time for our pickup, and none of the 3 cars that our family had rented were ready.  The person at the counter said that it might be an hour, but maybe a lot more; there was no certainty. Shockingly, she added that if our cars were only 1-2 hours late, we shouldactually feel pretty lucky(!?) - during the summer high tourist season, rental cars are constantly overbooked by Budget (and possibly other rental car companies).  She said it's a constant problem there in Montreal, and that recently some other customers' reserved rental cars were over A DAY late. I appreciated her honesty, but we were all floored and angry that Budget would do this.  If they don't have many cars, I get it, but that's no excuse for renting cars that aren't actually going to be available. In the end, our whole family of 11 people had to kill time for 2 hours in the middle of our vacation, until the cars were all ready.  We missed a restaurant reservation that we had put a deposit on, as well as activities we had planned. Also, even when Budget finally had the cars available, they didn't have the car seat we had reserved.  They said there was nothing they could do.  This left us in the very difficult position of either finding a store that sold car seats on vacation and buying one out of our own pockets just for a day and a half of driving, OR driving illegally in a foreign country at our own risk. I'm not sure what we could have possibly done to avoid this.  It sounds like Budget just overbooks their cars.  Regardless - REALLY not happy with our experience.

First of all let me make it clear that I am leaving one star because I have no choice! If it were up to me I'd leave none! I've been renting from budget for 10 years plus in Toronto. My loyalty to Budget has been attributed from their customer service, quality of cars and most importantly for me the cleanliness compared to cheaper places. However I have recently moved to Montreal and unfortunately have not received the same quality of service from this location! On countless occasions I had to kindly ask them to wash super filthy cars given to me. This time around not only was the outside covered in WET dirt with their attempt to wash it but the inside had food in the doors juice and I guess coffee splashed on the doors! It was an absolute mess! When mentioned to the operations manager he advised me to rent a Limo instead that their do not detail their cars! What great service! After sticking it out with this location for the last 3 years!!!! After being treated like that today, this was my last time renting there! So long Budget!
