After requesting quotes from various moving companies, Anber turned out to be the cheapest. I dealt with multiple people as I scheduled, one being a man who was nice but had extremely unprofessional email etiquette -- sending me several confusing emails, including other people's quotes -- and a very kind and helpful older woman. Anber is a great company every step of the way. The productive phone call was a great start, getting an estimate was easy and convenient. When it came to the move itself, the two gentlemen arrived with the truck earlier than expecte which was nice. One year hence. Im docking 2 stars for the items that they broke and or damaged (a bannister loose off the wall, wall corner chipped off, our bed main beam snapped in two (they insist it wasn't them but my cleaning lady didn't mention it and they dismantled the bed), scratched photo frame they tossed into a wardrobe box, scratched brand new $1200 desk chair that I had paid $200 for white glove handling to ship to me... snapped the metal frame to one of my lampshades... Who knows what else. Also, although the legs to a small wood desk arrived intact it's worth noting that they threw them into a grocery bag. OH, and they took my desktop computer with my files on it, which was supposed to go with me in my car down to the truck unprotected. I think that they could have been more sensitive to what is valuable to me. I keep an eye on my computer because it has on it my family pictures so it's invaluable. I'm docking 1 star for Debbie. She should be on a TAPED line, ASAP. She also insisted on giving us their smallest truck which would have been too small. And our stuff would have stockpiled to the ceiling IF and big IF it fit. Then telling us that's all they had left. Fortunately, she 'managed' to switch things around but we had a last minute scare that the move was off for the day we planned. She said a lot of weird stuff on the phone. For example, she called me a liar when I accidentally told her that my 3 book shelves were 10 feet high. They are 8 feet high but the ceiling in our apartment was 10. WHO says to that -- well which is it? I can't help you if you LIE to me. Im docking 1 star for the cheeky Russian or Ukrainian guy who appeared to be in charge. He kept insisting that nothing was their fault up to and including snapping my lamp frame back into place and repeating "NOT BROKEN." This really happened. I brought the issue of more care up maybe 3 times THEN I raised my voice. He promptly said he was CALLING THE POLICE. Then, he said he was going to DRIVE AWAY WITH MY FURNITURE in the truck and spend the night at a hotel. But then he called the supervisor duty (ALL OF THIS IN RUSSIAN - THE WHOLE CREW WAS RUSSIAN/ UKRAINIAN) and they demanded payment, which was fine. We were supposed to pay after we knew hours worked and final tip....Needless to say - there was no tip. I'm docking 1 star because we never heard from Anber again. I'm adding one star because their crew Ukrainian of men were strong, and they worked hard and quickly. Also, Grant at the company is fine to deal with. He's the estimator. He gives a professional appearance to the whole operation but after that it's like Debbie, cheeky stocky Russian guy... So that's one star. We also had some miscommunication about meeting up after they crossed into the US from Canada with their truck. They had been supposed to call us after they crossed but they only called once they were already at the house. We were following separately in our car which we had to export. We also couldn't reach them on the number they had given us. And, then we had to ask the real estate agent as a courtesy to drive over to the house and give them a key. Rarely do I write a review, but i'll take a moment to forewarn anyone considering Anber movers for their move. Crew showed up and within the first 20 minutes of removing a couch out the door 4 soffits were damaged. Calling attention to the damage made the crew defensive and on the spot they called off the move, returned the couch into the house and left. Anber who subcontracted the crew that was sent to us , refused to take responsibility for the damage and suggested that I take them to court if I so desired. Furthermore he insulted us by claiming we have no respect for blue collar workers. The stress of being dumped within the first few minutes of a move was awful. We called MovinGo and spoke to Mano. Within two hours he had a crew at our door. Professional to the highest degree , respectful and a pleasure to work with - we had no other choice but to google movers and we trusted their stellar reviews that proved to be right on. Since we have moved some other pieces and so the repeat business went to MovinGo. A true shame for Anber. In response to your comment- pleading ignorance doesn't suit your cause. I have a contract with your company not a contracted alternative . Your response to us after the people you subcontracted, who were sub par, behaved so badly was just an added insult to injury. Had you even cared you would have perhaps asked to see the damage we spoke of.You failed to understand that we were more focused on the fact that your people blew out the door and ditched us on our moving day, I would have really appreciated your handling the situation. I forgot to add that you also refused to give us our $140 deposit back. I was given a quote and the actual experience was more than a 100% cost overrun. The guys were polite, helpful and moved the stuff. There was not a lot of stuff to be moved we did have some bigger pieces one being an armoire and the movers surcharged me $100 dollars because it was, I guess heavy. I was a little surprised by this but hey what choice does one have, but to pay. So to sum up, the guys were respectful, polite, helpful however the disconnect between quote and actual cost seems too big. read more

I would definitely recommend Anber movers to anyone moving. It was my first time moving alone and the workers who were taking care of my belongings must have noticed that I was nervous, because they started making jokes to make me feel more comfortable. They were on time, efficient, quick, and double checked with me that I had everything on several occasions. They were very careful with my furniture; took it apart, wrapped it, and rebuilt it before leaving. Made this a very easy process. read more

We recently used Anber to move some furniture from a Montreal storage to our condo in Toronto, and to bring back some furniture (one queen bed frame and 2 night tables) from Toronto to our daughter's house in St Hubert (Quebec). Although the first leg of the transaction went well, the second part (in St Hubert) was disastrous. The movers remove a side door in order to bring the furniture into the basement. Instead of securing the door against the wall, horizontally, on a blanket, they rest it on the wrought iron fence outside the garden, vertically, without any protection. It only took one minute for the door to fall flat on the ground, because of a sudden wind gust. The door was broken in half, and needs to be replaced entirely. Very quickly, Anber denied all responsibilities for that mistake and the damages caused to the door, claiming all sorts of excuses, and saying that they took out the door for the purpose of moving in the goods but are not responsible for it falling flat on the ground. I would not recommend this small company to anyone, at any cost. They act like amateurs, dishonest and are totally unprofessional in the handling of their clients' issues. They just move things, but don't care about the destruction caused by their own staff to people's house or belongings. We are taking legal actions against them for sure. Avoid them like plague !
