Deceptive business practices. I was bated, switched and scammed. I made a confirmed reservation for a storage space on line and when I arrived from out of state I was told online reservations were a "request" and not a reservation, and the storage space I reserved was not available. The "only" space that was available was twice the size and price of the one I reserved. I was then asked to provide a different email address than my U-Haul account was under "for security reasons". This is the address the "new" reservation was placed under. Later I received an email to ask for feedback on why I was I was a "no show" for the original reservation placed under my original U-Haul account. I contacted the manager with no response. The staff told me they were the only U-Haul in a town with two universities so customer service didn't matter. read more

Flight was an hour late, so they gave away the trailer. I would expect I would lose an hour out of my reservation if I'm late, not to give away my pre-paid, confirmed rental. Offered no solution except to say "too bad". Read the reviews, consistent story line here. Simply put people usually have time constraints on moving and can't reschedule at the whim of inept U-haul employees. We made a reservation directly at this location. The person we worked with over the phone was training. After we traveled, two days later and 250 miles to pick up the car hauler, they said we didn't have a reservation. We were talking to the person who was working with the person in training. They were incredibly rude, disrespectful, and basically said 'sucks to be you. We won't help' We had to spend the night and rent from a different location the next morning. This U-Haul experience has been one of the worst interactions with a company I have ever had. Workers appeared to be disinterested, unkempt, and unwilling to help. On top of all of this, they were disingenuous with their pricing and went back on their word several times. They then attempted to place their blame on me as the customer, rather than admitting their own fault. They then attempted to not give us a receipt after they tried to overcharge us from the original quote. I will not be doing business with this company ever again, unless absolutely necessary. A complete reform must be made, including all staff from the management down. I highly suggest never going here, UNLESS ITS AN ABSOLUTE MUST. read more

Summary: do not do business with them if you can avoid it. They are dishonest and hold no desire past getting your money. Worst service ever. While living in Moscow, I've had to rent a moving vehicle on a handful of occasions. The agents are extremely dishonest and misleading. On the most recent rental, I was moving one way to Richland, Wa. The agent had me set as moving to Kennewick. While this wouldn't be an issue for most, he did not change the drop off location and just gave me a lot of incorrect information. In order to drop off the vehicle where he set it to, I would go over my allowed mileage, and have to drive past six different Uhaul locations. When I noticed this, I attempted to contact the business. They said there's nothing they can do, and to contact 1800gouhaul. I have now been on hold for 30 minutes and spoken to two different people, who just keep putting me back into the queue to wait forever for assistance. Now that I'm living in a place where I have other options than Uhaul, I am never doing business with them again. read more

BE WARNED. Same as all the other reviews. We reserved a truck 6 weeks in advance. 7pm the night before we were supposed to pick up, we got a call saying they had no truck for us. We had reserved a 15-ft truck. They told us too bad. To read the fine print. Rude, unkind, unhelpful. Would not compensate us in anyway. My lease was ending, had a job to get to in a new city, and had my parents fly here specifically to help move. And no truck. Worst customer service I have ever received. We were told we could get a truck elsewhere - for a 4 hour round trip, that we had no way of getting to. People plan entire moves around the truck the reserved being available - you can't just cancel last minute. Horrible horrible horrible. Expect to be screwed over if you use this place. read more

I picked up a small enclosed trailer from Moscow U-Haul this past weekend. We had an issue with the relay system from my truck's lights to the trailer. Matthew (I beleive he is the manager) was incredibly helpful trying to find solutions. He was going through fuses and eventually laid down in the slush and snow under my truck to figure out what was wrong. He found the solution and I was on my way. Thanks for your help Matthew! Let me start with saying I hate Uhaul the company and their customer service is some of the worst in the business. The company left me on hold, cut me off while i was talking because she was done speaking with me. This location is the exact opposite, the general manager Matt was truly amazing, he did everything in his power to fix my issue and went above and beyond. This man deserves a promotion for the work he does and hopefully Uhaul will recognize the work he does. I will not use Uhaul again, but I would work with its Matt again for sure. read more

Told me I would be refunded for the miles I didn't use once rented the truck and soon as I went back they said there's nothing they can do multiple times started arguing with me . Terrible workers they should all be fired. The manager is never there. I'm still waiting to get my money back . Threatened to call the cops on me for demanding my refund I was promised. I plan on reporting this U-Haul for discriminatory practices. I cannot believe how I was treated by the manager, Brittany I think her name was, and by the individual who dropped off my boxes. I do plan on reaching out to the regional manager. It's unfortunate because this U-Haul is situated between two small towns in Eastern Washington and you have no other options unless you go with Mayweather or find another service that will come and move you out of town. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Booked a reservation 4 months in advance. Called to confirm the reservation 4 separate times. We show up and they simply moved our reservation back 7 hours without any warning. We had planned our entire move based off the UHaul (which planned and booked months ahead of time), even flying out family to help us. When I asked why our reserved truck wasn't there and what the point of making a reservation was, the "manager" Dale was incredibly rude, saying simply "the trucks not here. If you have a problem with that, I'll just cancel your reservation altogether." He then proceeded to mock me in front of other customers when I kept questioning how this happened, which was shocking and unprofessional. Absolutely no apology, no admission that they may have fumbled the reservation or wanted to make more money by renting our truck out to another person before us. Dale should be ashamed of his horrific customer service and I recommend that you avoid interacting with him at all costs. If you need a UHaul, I recommend you rent from ANYWHERE else in town. This review is directed at the U-Haul Company, not necessarily the Moscow location. Two weeks a go we went online with U-Haul and reserved a van for this upcoming Monday. We wanted the van and You Haul, online, rented us the van. However this morning, approximately 2 weeks later, its Friday, I get a cryptic text/email from U-haul informing me they have "moving options" for my upcoming van rental. "Options" what options? Two weeks ago we went through the rental process. Now on the last business day before the pick up on Monday, U-Haul Company changes informs me that there are no vans available because it is a busy weekend. I'm upset and ask the question; "Why then was I not notified two weeks earlier when U-Haul accepted the reservation?" Why wait to the last business day, unless the intent is to limit my options? There was no coherent answer, it's just the way it is. They do have a truck but it is in an entirely different town. The bottom line I was lied to. U-Haul rented me a van out of the Moscow Idaho location, but they really don't have a van for me at that location. If I want a van I'll have to drive to a different town to pick it up. I got the impression from the U-Haul representative on the phone that she deals with this sort of thing all the time; wasn't surprised and couldn't care less. I've used U-Haul twice now in my life, both times have been a bad experience. So be careful with these people as they will enter into an agreement online with you but in my case unilaterally changed the terms: "moving options" clever term. One star for them, and one star for me not reading the reviews here before I "rented" with U-Haul. I can't see myself ever using U-Haul in any capacity ever again. read more

I am only giving U-Haul 1 star because I was unable to post a review without a star. My husband and I reserved a box truck from U-Haul in the middle of March for a rental beginning on Thursday, April 15, 2021. We had even received a confirmation number from U-Haul. Imagine our surprise when on the evening of April 13 we received a call from U-Haul stating that they could not honor our reservation because there were no vehicles available for us. We spoke to several people at U-Haul and were informed that even though we had a reservation, if someone walked in the door and wanted a truck they would give it to them! We were flying into the area from Virginia on Wednesday the 14 of April and needed to drive some items cross country. We were luckily able to secure guaranteed transportation through Penske. I am more than disappointed in the customer service at U-Haul. Needless to say I will not be using U-Haul again and will encourage anyone I know to look elsewhere as well. read more

Wow, supposed to close at 8 so I called at 7:50 to get a quote and they closed early. The answering machine took me to some answering service that had no useful information. As soon as they answer they want your email and phone number. I said, excuse me but I just need a quote, not a birthday card. Apparently they couldn't give me a quote without that information. So I asked them for their phone number and email address. She said www.uhaul.whatever. I said, no, YOUR email and phone number. She hesitated and gave it to me. I was surprised. We went 33 miles on a "full" tank and put in 7.2 gallons of gas to return the truck to full. That is roughly 4 mi to the gallon. When we brought this to the attention of the "outside" clerk--on the UHaul lot--as he was checking the truck back in, he said, "I don't know anything about gas mileage." He then noticed that our price/mile rate was incorrectly entered as $1.09 /mile, not $0.99/mile as we had both read on the UHaul app and confirmed by your employee at pick up (less than 3 hrs earlier). He referred us inside to finish returning the truck stating, "The woman sitting down at the counter can help you inside with this discrepancy, it is nothing you did." Upon entering the building the female clerk called us over to sit down in front of her to finish returning the truck. We again asked about the horrible gas mileage, stating it seemed unreasonable to pay for gas for 4 mi/gal. At this point, a male clerk at the counter interrupted and asked what vehicle we had rented. We stated the 15' truck and he replied, "Nah, something's not right." We agreed and looked to the female clerk helping us and asked if there was some kind of adjustment she could make. She was still trying, unsuccessfully, to pull up our contract on the computer--to void the incorrect price per mile--but paused to ask if we'd checked the fuel gauge when we rented the truck. We confirmed that we had and it showed "full". She then asked if we'd let the gas pump go, until it stopped automatically, while filling the truck or if we'd watched the needle on the fuel gauge while filling it manually and stopped pumping when the needle reached "full". We explained that we'd let the pump go until it stopped automatically (indicating a full tank). She stated that was the problem. She then explained that "For some reason the fuel gauge can show 'full', but there are still about 10 gallons more of gas that the tank can take." We (the customer) are only required to return the truck with the fuel gauge showing 'full' regardless of whether the tank is actually full. In other words, unless a customer watches the fuel gauge and stops pumping when it reads full, he can pump 10 extra gallons into the truck BEYOND the "full" line...a fact that should be revealed at the time one rents the vehicle. She then stated she wasn't authorized to do anything regarding adjustments for gas expenses and that we'd have to talk to "Mike". (Mike was the clerk who interrupted earlier...agreeing that the gallons per mile were "not right".) However, he had left the building to deal with another customer's order outside. The female clerk was still having trouble pulling up our contract and was forced to go outside to inspect the truck/odometer personally. She came back in and explained she couldn't adjust the contract, but that the difference in price was about $2.00. She gave us a credit of $2.00. We waited for approximately 20 more min for Mike to return so we could ask him about the gallons/mile. We stated that we had gotten approximately 4 miles to the gallon--according to the amount of gas it took to fill the tank after our use--and explained we'd been informed that there was "full" and then there was "FULL"...and because we weren't aware of the difference we pumped gas until it stopped automatically. He said there was nothing he could do about it. He stated it was our fault for not watching the fuel gauge while pumping gas and that the UHaul employees clearly state when renting the truck to a customer that they require the needle to be on "full" not for the tank to [necessarily] be full. When we countered that that seemed ridiculous given that we were told to return the truck full, without the inside knowledge that the tank fill line was misplaced, he (not making eye contact throughout this entire exchange) responded with, "I leave the vehicle running and watch the fuel gauge while the gas is pumping. I stop the pump when the needle reaches full." Needless to say, he would not adjust the bill. Another customer at the counter, being helped by Mike, heard the female clerks explanation to us of "full" and "FULL" and made a comment that that was underhanded. Neither clerk acknowledged her comment. Furthermore, we were not given a receipt of our transaction until we asked for it... ...and during the near hour it took to check in the truck, wait for an adjustment for the price/mile incorrectly entered and wait to speak with (unhelpful) Mike, the female clerk was eating her take out dinner (in a styrofoam box, open for the world to see) pausing to take bites and chew and take sips of her beverage while alternately looking at the computer screen and talking to us. With two children at WSU, living in separate residents with furniture to move before/after the school year, and two other children, nearly college age, who may also find themselves at WSU or University of Idaho, we would not recommend UHaul Moscow, ID. It was an unpleasant experience. read more

The day I was leaving I realized they installed something incorrectly, I was told that they were too busy and wouldn't be able to help for a week. Horrible service. I have rented a small truck twice in the last 6 months. Both times, on both pickup and drop off, I had to wait at least 20 minutes. They are way UNDERSTAFFED! And today, on the check out, I was waiting there, sitting down (due to a bad back). Another customer cut in front of me in line (I was not physically right behind the folks ahead of me); the sole employee didn't ask "who is next" even though there were 3 groups waiting, and I did not notice because I was reading news on my phone. I noticed after he had been serviced for about 5 minutes. But he did not get good service. The employee said that he had entered a wrong rate, and it would cost the customer another $21 because he could not change it with the POS software; it would have to be done in a manual process that would take a lot of time, if it were even possible. Its too bad that there is no longer a U-Haul in Pullman! I am the type who rarely whines about anything, let alone online, but I took the time to warn other folks. If we don't get one in Pullman, at least hopefully this will prompt U-Haul to work with the Moscow location manager/owner to remedy the clear problems there. read more

went to this place to rent a truck for the day. I drove the truck a total of 18 miles, and topped the truck off with gas at the pump on the way back. when returning the man working behind the counter assured me that everything was in order. The next day I awake to an 85$ charge plus 30$ for "not returning the truck with a full tank" even after I had confirmed this with the employee. I then complained to the manager that I had indeed put gas in the truck, and he accuses me of lying. Long story short I paid over 100$ for a 1 hour truck rental AND I paid 20$ for gas that apparently "never" went In the truck. BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS they scam students like this all the time! read more

Perhaps it's not just the Moscow location, but U-Haul in general; however, I have repeatedly received the absolute worst customer service when dealing with U-Haul. Also, there have been several instances of wrong charges, multiple charges, and many mistakes that could have easily been avoided. I would not recommend U-Haul under any circumstances. I reserved a truck a month in a half with the manager, Adam Wagner, in person, after canceling two trailers to use the truck instead. Adam failed to tell me that the truck reservation was not necessarily for Moscow and that I might have to drive 4 hours roundtrip to get the truck and pay for all the extra gas not to mention time lost. Instead I was called two days before to inform me I would need to go to Spokane to pick the truck up. After speaking with another employee at the store and various customer service representatives, apparently there is a routine issue with them overbooking and not being able to supply the truck you reserve. Additionally, several of the customer service people were INCREDIBLY rude, and acted like they were doing me a huge favor by arranging somewhere else for me to get a truck. There were no managers I was able to speak to, and I tried multiple times to get ahold of Adam via cell phone and his mailbox was full. I booked plane tickets relying on the fact that I would be able to move the day reserved. It is going to cost me hundreds of dollars and great inconvenience in the middle of law school exams to go get the truck elsewhere. I absolutely would not recommend U-Haul and would encourage people to make their reservations with Budget in Lewiston instead. I'm shocked these people are still in business. read more
