He says they always leave open spots for walk-ins. I guess walk-ins are for people buying something other than the free services they are so proud to tell you about when they are trying to sell you something. I go in about 8:05am for the rotation and they asked me if I have an appointment, no I don't. Can't do it and tell me it would be next Thursday at 3pm. I say forget it, I will go to Lewiston instead. My girlfriend has also bought all her tires from Moscow Les Schwab. She wanted her winter tires siped. When we went to pick it up and I looked at the tires, they were not siped properly. The salesman looks at them and says they're fine, I called BS and proved to him they were wrong. they re-siped them. She changes out her winter tires, all ok until I find a lug nut rolling around in the back of her car with a broken stud in it. Look at the wheels and yep, there is a wheel with a missing lug nut. No notes or inf about it at all. They want it for 3 hours for a 15 minute job! Never again will I go back to Moscow. It's not the same since Les passed away!

I spent over $4,000 for a new power steering pump, alignment, and they somehow found that my steering was still not straight (even though it was not an issue before) so they called me and told me everything they needed to do. Since I travel for work 5 days a week, I felt I had no choice but to let them continue and finish the service. When I brought the final cost and services to a different auto repair shop, they felt so bad for me for spending the money I did. That's when I knew I made a big, big mistake. They also don't have an issue pressuring you into making sure they get to work on your car. They want to overcharge and take advantage of people who have little to no car maintenance experience. They also take too long to get simple repairs done. I had my car dropped off for the above service. During that time, I needed to get a rental because they didn't have any loaner cars available (according to them). They promised me it would only take 2 days. I called every day for 4 days and then they changed the pick up day/time for the following day. Finally was ready. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!! I drove about 5 miles and started hearing noises as I drove on the main road. I took it back and they said my struts were worn out and they needed to be replaced. I asked them how did they not catch that during my initial service? They told me they didn't hear anything during the test drive and they didn't do anything to those parts of the car. BULLCRAP! They did a wheel alignment (or did they?). I took it to Les Schwab and they said my struts were fine that they were just loose and they did what they did for free and sent me on my way. My assumption for that is they want to take their sweet a$$ time so they can charge more for labor costs. So many issues with this crap auto repair company. I encourage anyone who is thinking of getting services done here to go elsewhere. Literally anywhere else in Moscow or Pullman. Heck, travel to Spokane/CDA if you have to. It will save you so much time, money and frustrations!

I reached out to The Hive Auto Repair, and from the very first conversation with Sivan, I felt completely at ease. They were able to get my son in quickly, which was a huge relief because he'll be on the road soon. I really appreciated how clear and honest they were throughout the process. As a mom, knowing there's a reliable place my son can go to if anything ever comes up means everything. In the field where my name should have been, the following message appeared: "NIKI DO NOT SERVICE AND I MEAN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whether it was meant as an internal note or a joke, it is beyond unprofessional and extremely insulting to see this attached to my customer information. This experience makes me question what kind of internal dialog they have about their customers, and unfortunately, it has completely changed my opinion of this business. I recently got a vehicle running after 6 years and took it to Meineke to check the brakes for safety. That was mid last week and I called today to learn it will be end of this week before it's looked at. That's 8 working days for a simple brake safety check. That will take an hour or less, even if the system needs brakes bled. Hmmm. Ok, to see if this is specific to Meineke or unavoidable right now, I called Schwab to schedule the same thing. They gave me a time appt in 1 day. They also double checked my records, gave me a rough estimate and discussed probable problems getting a vehicle back on the road. They put me in touch with a brake specialist, not the person at the front desk. They made sure they will be ready with inventory in stock. I changed the appt to Les Schwab. I do understand current workloads but waiting longer than 7 days for a TEST is a signal they don't really want to earn my steady business. Maybe they have too much business. This was my first experience with Meineke, closest to my house, and I get lots of advertisement from them. They are off my list.

At the outset I told the person at the desk that I had a check engine light for a code indicating that the evaporative fuel system had a leak. I told him that if the code (P1420) was still the same to do nothing further. After a few hours, I received a call from the same person indicating that I needed a new air conditioner compressor and that there was a small leak from the condenser. When I picked up my car, I was billed a total of $166.62 even though no repairs were performed. $75+ was for looking at the check engine light. The code, which was the one I told them about, was not even erased. I am no mechanic and, in fact, I have very limited mechanical ability. However, it is very easy to check these codes and erase them. I took my cheap code checking device from AutoZone and timed how long it took me to plug it in, read the instructions, and erase the code. It took me 3 minutes. At the rate Luttrell's charged me that is the equivalent of $1500 per hour. What a joke. If I had been told I would be charged $75 plus tax to look at the engine light code, I would have declined. If the cause of the check engine light had been diagnosed, I wouldn't have a complaint. However, in my experience a reputable company would not have charged anything for such a minor task as checking an engine light code and doing nothing more. I had no problem paying the cost of diagnosing the problem with my air conditioner. However, the estimated cost of repairing my air conditioner was $4500+. I decided not to authorize the repair. I then went online to get an estimate of the cost to replace the compressor. According to one site, the estimated cost for our area was around $2200 for the compressor. Assuming the condenser was included in this estimate, that would cost another $800 for a total of $3000. https://repairpal.com/estimator/estimate-results. Another website estimated the cost at $2400 for the compressor and $725 for the condenser for a total of $3125. https://www.yourmechanic.com/estimates/lexus/rx400h/ac-compressor-replacement. Draw your own conclusion whether you should trust Lutrell's estimate, which was roughly $1400 higher that the second estimate. So end the end, I was charged a total of $166.62 for "diagnostic" work, which included $3 for undifferentiated "shop supplies". While repair shops vary, I would note that I recently had my Toyota pickup serviced at Master Auto Service down the road from Luttrell's and the total cost was $200 below the RepairPal website estimated cost for the work that was performed. If that shop worked on hybrids, I would go back there in an instant. I will never step foot in Lutrell's again.

I have never written a review before, but my recent experience at Les Schwab has left me shaken and…read moreextremely disappointed. I feel obligated to share what happened in hopes that others are spared from a similar experience, and so this situation is taken seriously. On August 16th at 8AM, I brought in my 2012 BMW 335is for a scheduled consultation because my brake pads were low. After the inspection, I was presented with a service quote of over $2,000, which included replacing rotors, calipers, discs, sensors, and even new tires I never requested. I explained that I have experience building cars and knew my rotors and calipers were fine. However, I was told it was "policy and liability" to replace everything. I declined the tires, but the bill was still over $1,700. Despite the high cost, I agreed only because I had no tools or other options, and I was told it could be done that same day. After I approved the work, I was then told it wouldn't be ready until Monday, August 18th. When I picked up my car on the 18th, I left the lot and reached the first red light. To my horror, my brakes nearly failed completely--traveling 35-40 mph, it took 8 full seconds of pressing my brake pedal to the floor before the car came to a complete stop. I narrowly avoided a collision. Terrified, I immediately pulled over and called Les Schwab. Instead of offering a tow, they told me to drive the car back despite the risk, with only 30 minutes before closing. Once there, I explained the situation in detail. A older technician looked over the car and insisted "nothing was wrong." I asked multiple times for documentation stating that my brakes were fine since this was a serious safety and liability concern, but I was refused three times. I then asked the same tech to test drive it. He first drove it briefly in the lot, when he came back and said nothing was wrong, again, I explained how I was going about 40 mph when this happened and not as slow as him in the parking lot, then--frustrated by my persistence--he grabbed my keys aggressively off the counter, spoke to me in a hostile tone saying "I'll take it for a test drive" and scoffs, and took the car for over 30 minutes. When he returned, he again said "nothing was wrong." I later realized the car had been taken into the shop without my consent or explanation of what was done. This only added to my fear that something was quietly fixed to avoid admitting fault. The next day I spoke directly with the manager, Jesse. Unlike the prior experience, the manager listened and took me seriously. He test drove the car with me, and while the brakes then felt fine, we soon discovered a new issue: a terrible banging sound above 30 mph. After multiple inspections, it turned out my plastic under-guard had been damaged, something that was not present before. This reinforced my concern that the aggressive technician may have driven my lowered car recklessly during his 30-minute "test drive." When I brought this up, the manager said it couldn't be proven. I was given no documentation of any work, inspections, or explanations of anything since picking it up originally. By the end, I was left with: A $1,700+ bill for work I did not fully agree was necessary. A terrifying brake failure immediately after service. An employee who was aggressive, dismissive, reckless, and unprofessional. Refusal of written documentation despite my repeated requests. A new issue (broken under-guard) that did not exist before service. Lost wages from a day and a half of missed work. I want to make clear: this situation was not just inconvenient, it was traumatizing. At 23, with no parents or outside help, this left me legally and financially vulnerable, while also placing me in real danger on the road. I take meticulous care of my car, it is my dream car since I was 15, and to leave a trusted shop only to nearly crash was unacceptable. I am asking Les Schwab corporate to review this case immediately. I sincerely hope Les Schwab does the right thing, not just for me, but to restore trust with customers who depend on them for safety.

Heritage diagnosed the problem as a serpentine belt and tensioner and charged us over $560 to replace them. The very next morning the exact same noise returned. When we contacted them again and sent a video, they told us it was actually a wheel bearing issue and quoted another $1,150 for repairs. At this point we lost confidence and sought another opinion. A different shop diagnosed the actual problem immediately: the transfer case, which explained the noise and the acceleration issues. So to summarize: * Heritage charged us $560 for a repair that did not fix the problem * They then misdiagnosed the issue again as wheel bearings * The real issue was the transfer case, which they completely missed What is most concerning is that they were prepared to perform another $1,150 repair that would not have solved the problem either. Good mechanics diagnose problems before charging customers for unnecessary work. This experience felt like guessing at repairs while the customer pays the bill. I would recommend anyone experiencing drivetrain or noise issues get a second opinion before authorizing repairs here.
