Zero stars. I don't know how Uhaul is still in business. We moved from Tx to Or and had 9 pods. They shipped the first 3 with no warning, months early, we weren't done packing the others yet. So then when we shipped the rest it cost extra than it would have if they had shipped them all at once. Total scam. Every single reservation we have made they got the time wrong, despite calling them multiple times for every one. When we tried to pick up boxes we found they had shipped them to the wrong city - because apparently they can't ship them to our new city as promised. They told us we could rent a trailer and haul them to the correct city one at a time . So we get a box and drive 2 hours to unload it only to find it's on the trailer backwards and the door won't open over the hitch. Tried again- box two was screwed shit with a specialty screw - no warning that we would need a drill and bit, again 2 hour drive. Box 3- also screwed shut, and they broke our lock. Also no warnings. Date time on it the night we brought it in . This is probably one of the worst run uhaul places. Completely unhelpful with a screw you attitude. Made a reservation for a storage unit online as we were coming into town with a full truck and didn't think we'd be able to unload everything into the house right away. Arrived and they acted like they'd never heard of this thing before and there was nothing they could do. So screw off. Also, we prepaid for a couple extra days in case we couldn't find a storage unit, (thankfully we found one after the first fiasco.) We returned the truck 2 days early and asked if we could get the money refunded while standing in line to return the truck. Said they couldn't do anything after the truck was returned, and because it was in line it had technically been returned. Again with the "what are you gonna do, screw you" attitude. TL;DR: Do everything you can to avoid using this Uhaul location. The manager there is completely worthless and the employees hate working there. First off, don't waste your hard earned money here. If there were a rating below one star, I'd be giving it today. I've rented from this facility twice now and won't be doing so ever again. The employees are all real greaseballs and don't display a lick of professionalism in what they do. My wife and I recently rented a 26' truck for moving across town, from the get-go it was an absolute clusterf*ck. The man in front of me in line told an employee he had seen some of the trucks fuel tanks had been siphoned overnight and the employees blew him off jokingly. After receiving my keys I walked to the lot to locate my truck and sure enough I ended up with the truck whose tank had been siphoned. I took photos to cover my ass and I'm glad I did. Showed the employees that the tank read at half full which is not where my paperwork said it was and they could not have cared less. Anyway, I used the rig with no hiccups and returned it intact with the tank reading exactly what it did when I left. Upon returning it later that afternoon the clerk receiving it informed me he had planned to charge me a "convenience fee" for not returning the truck with the correct amount of fuel. Luckily, I had taken photos of the incident that morning to cover my ass and boy am I glad I did. The clerk tells me that he would "knock off the convenience fuel charge" as "it was not my fault". This establishment is known for surprise charges and shady shit. Will not be coming back here or giving this business anymore of my time or money. read more

Every time, I have come here to rent something there customer service js awful. They ignore you, walk off after seeing you say nothing and walk out the door. This is the second time this has happened to us. One of the workers even made fun of a customer in front of me and used vulgar language. I drove 280 miles one-way to pick up my disabled truck in Medford, to be denied a vehicle hauler rental because the vehicle I would be hauling "weighs the same as the truck you're towing with, so it won't work." I told him my truck was rated at 10,000 pounds towing capacity, but he knew better. "No, it's 6,000 pounds." So, sir, I offer the following chart from my owners manual. Upon returning the moving truck at the appropriate time they took a quick look in the cab & the back of the moving van & told us they'd be charging an additional $25 cleaning fee because there was a small amount of dirt in the back. My buddy pulled his hoodie off and was going to wipe it out & he said that it was too late & even if he did clean it we'd still be charged. This place is absolute garbage and should most definitely be avoided. I wish I had checked their reviews before my friend had rented from them. They changed my trailer pick up the day before my move to a coos bay location. Then they couldn't find my moving supplies I had ordered online to pick up. I have spent about a total of 4 hrs (no joke) dealing with uhaul in person or on the phone for my last move. And I still haven't received a refund for items they never gave me. Ok, so we made a reservation for a truck and car dolly rental for our out of state move. We made the reservation a month ago. Two days before we are supposed to pick them up, they emailed us that we would have to drive 35 miles one way to pick up the truck in one location and the car dolly in another location. I'm sorry but that is a bunch of bull. We have to be out of our place early in the morning and they are telling us we have to drive 35 miles to go get the truck and dolly. After talking to them, they tell us that they will give us a $50.00 discount. I'm sorry but the addition time and gas is way more than $50. Uhual prides themselves on making moving easier but this is the 2nd time they have complicated our move. Abysmal customer service. I did the 24/7 van rental on my phone to where all I had to do was go to the front of the line and pick up my key and leave. I checked in on my phone, went up to the counter and waited for 15 mins as the employee could barely do his job checking someone else in. When he finally came over to me, he said they don't do the 24/7 checkin at this branch even though the Uhaul website checked me in that way for that branch and the van has "24/7 Van Rental, checkin on your phone" in big letters on the side of the van. Once he verified I was checking out the right vehicle, he couldn't find the key. Said he needed to check outside in the key cabinet. I waited another 10 mins, he went outside checked there, couldn't find it. Took me back inside, found the key but the van had no fuel. He then proceeded to help another customer and the customer politely said he should help me first. He printed out a form for a new vehicle and gave me a key. The whole ordeal took about 45mins when all I had to do was grab a key from the front desk and leave. When I returned the van I had to wait 20mins before after the third Uhaul employee walked by and saw me waiting to have them check the vehicle back in. Finally one of them slowly walked over, I smiled and said hello, he just looked at me and walked by to check the vehicle in. When he was finished I said Thank you and was met with a cold "See ya". Not the first time I've heard of below standard customer service at this location. Corporate really needs to get new management in here because they clearly can't train their employees how to do there and job and treat customers properly. We reserved a truck and motorcycle trailer, confirmed pick up at this location for 6/24. Upon arrival, we were told to go to Grants Pass to pick up the trailer. U-Haul also claimed they called (funny, no records of call incoming to the cell phone), no voicemail, not even an email to notify us. Thanks for setting us back a couple hours on a long trip. Had anyone called, we would have arrived earlier. Too bad I can't give zero star. If you reserved anything at this location, make sure to call every day, even several times a day just to confirm your confirmation. From bad to worse! So I have had the absolute worst experience here. This is a bit long, but underscores how incompetent these people are. On Wednesday September 5, 2018 I book an appointment online for 1PM that afternoon. When I arrive am told they have double booked and I should come back in 2-2.5 hours. Okay, stuff happens and I decide to go get lunch. 20 minutes later I get a call from the rather surly manager saying they are ready and I can come back anytime. Ten minutes later I get a call saying they don't have the part and it won't be there until Friday after 10:45AM. I mention that I could be there by noon as I live 300 miles away in Beaverton. He replies he's not there at noon, so we agree on 1PM. Yay, progress. On Thursday I get a text message that the part is in and they are confirming my 10:45AM appointment! Fortunately, I have decided not to drive the 600 mile round trip and am still only 40 miles away. Progress? On Friday I arrive and they say it will take about 1.5 hours. Okay I'll wait in the customer lounge. They say there is coffee! Good, I can use some, except no cups, creamer, etc. :-( So after THREE HOURS I get me car and just want the hell out of there. It turns out that after having my hitch installed there was a terrible rattling in the rear right quadrant. Well, it turns out the idiots here installed the WRONG HITCH! installing one for a Canadian Subaru. On top of that, they CUT THE FACTORY WIRING HARNESS to install an inferior universal harness. This was told to me by another U-haul installation site that says they have seen this often, even though the part documentation says ONLY FOR CANADIAN SUBARUS! So, once again I repeat AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. read more

I rented a pick up truck to take cardboard boxes and some trash to the transfer station. I brought it back three hours later and was told I had to pay 125$ extra dollars to cover two small dings on the outside of the bed, as this was the deductible on the insurance I bought. The next time I rent a car or truck, and it sure won't be from Uhaul, I will make the person come out from the counter and inspect the car thoroughly. I rented a 26ft trailer 3 weeks ahead of time, two days before pickup , I get a call and am informed that they dont have a 26 ft but they will give me a 20ft truck and a 6x12 trailer. I get to the rental place and they tell me they would prefer I take the truck and they will hold my trailer until I fill the truck and we determine we really need the trailer. Today I get a call that my trailer is 77 miles away. If I want it I would have to drive there and get it, but they are now willing to give me a 8x5 trailer, imagine sending me 150 mile round trip to pick up a trailer was going to be saved for me in Medford with no discussion of a discount or a fill up of gas. read more

When you call you feel like you are dealing with the owner's son who doesn't care about customer service or doing a good job (this poor behavior comes from above obviously). All the poor reviews on this place seem to be legit and question the "good" reviews validity. All the excuses, never taking accountability. This location will overbill you and only offer instore credit for future crappy services. (The delivery people are awesome). Beware the "bait-and-switch!" On June 1, I reserved a 26' truck online for a June 17 move. I reserved the usual email confirmation, all looked good. About a week later I went in to the office to buy boxes and while there, confirmed my reservation, all looked good, 26' truck reserved for the 17th. I showed up on the 17th to pick up the truck and was told I had reserved 17' truck. I said no, it was 26' and that I had confirmed it. The clerk asked if I had reserved online, I said yes. His implication was that I had made an error. He checked to see if he had any other trucks and said he did not. We had no choice but to take the 17' truck. When I got home, I found my email confirmation that did indeed say 26'. I called back and was put through to the manager. I believe her name was Lindsay. I told her I had a large house to move and needed the 26' I had reserved. She told me she did not have one for me. (We checked on the website and it said there still was a 26' truck available at that site.) She offered to give me a second day for free, which did me no good as I only had movers for Saturday and needed to be out of my rental. I explained that it didn't help, she basically told me that she had given me a truck to do our move, what was I complaining about (not exact words, but definitely implied by tone of voice). Because of U-Haul pulling a bait-and-switch with us, our movers had to take extra trips, costing us more money; they did not finish the move for us as they would have with the larger truck; we had to pay for extra mileage and gas; we did not get our of our rental on time, costing us more money as well. The entire experience was unacceptable. We will not be using U-Haul in the future. read more

Staff here are great, despite the fact that they are always understaffed and obviously working very hard and probably for substandard wages. Equipment always in excellent condition, storage facility always very clean and well kept. Only drawback is their next-door neighbor is the St. Vincent de Paul homeless service center, and the clients (many mentally disturbed and chemically addicted to one thing or another) sometimes filter over to U-Haul and cause problems. read more

Lindsay happily took us out to show us the interior of one the trucks and then even made our reservation for us. Picking up truck that I had reservations for took over an hour and didn't have furniture dolly. Waited in line when to return only to find that I needed to wait outside ( no one instructed me this when renting) mike the manger is whipped by his employees.. I waited outside when returning truck while employees were not even acknowledging my existence. When I informed and employee I was not given returning instructions for truck he got an additude.. saying there are signs.. and arguing with me for no reason. The manager just stood there saying nothing.. horrible experience .. wasn't going to get me a receipt for returning truck,wanted me to leave without getting a receipt from them for my returning. Employees are rude and have no idea what they are doing. Got to the location and the large guy wearing whited framed glasses gas a very poor attitude. Told an employee he did care if the check in line went into the street. Got my paper work finally to get my trailer. Had to change the ball on my stinger. The young man was changing the ball when the large guy screamed on the radio for him to get his a@# up front and help a customer. I was thinking what am I. The young man told him he was helping someone i.e.... me change a ball, the large guy very loudly scream he didn't dare stop,what he was doing and get up front. Very poor attitude. In the midst of this my trailer was loaded and they forgot to load my dolly. My entire trip was predicated on having this doll as I was moving a 975 lbs mixer. I didn't notice I didn't gave a. Dolly until I arrived 200 miles away. Almost didn't find another location that had a oneway dolly. I advised the store and got oh sorry and was still charged for having to drive out of my way had to cancel the movers I had planned for Friday evening. They told me that I had rented a unit large enough to cover the 1200 sq ft apartment we were in and only gave us enough for a 50 sq ft shed. The dude with glasses neither carded to check why I would rent a 15ft truck with only 50 sq ft space nor assist with options once the error was found. Adding to that he moved slowly so that his coworkers had to assist me with 60% of the mix-up and check the truck and pull it out. The truck was great it was just the service that left much to be desired. I love the trucks and trailers we rent, and we always seem to come back. However, as I wait in line at 9am behind 10 other folks, I am reminded of their poor staffing decisions. On a Sunday morning there was one young girl running the whole show. She was awesome and doing her best, but seriously! Long wait times seem to be the norm. One star only because zero is not an option. Rented a trailer to move our son to college. Needed to leave at 7. Had the trailer packed the night before, and noticed a tire was low so we pumped it up. At 6am it was low again. Pumped it up again. Low again by 7. Waited until they oped at 9 and were told sorry, the shop isn't open on Sunday, go call Roadside Assistance. No apologies for the inconvenience. No offer to help get it right. AND, my son and dad had picked it up -- they let them leave without the lights working!! I called them on that and the first thing the guy said was "did you buy insurance?" Are you frigging kidding me?!?! You let a defective price of equipment leave your facility--a cracked tire!! -- and your first question is did we buy insurance? No inquiry about our welfare or apology for the inconvenience. It put us hours behind schedule. We won't be home until well after Midnight, and we both have to work tomorrow. I highly recommend you rent from someone Other Than these unprofessional bunch of rude people. We had to wait on the phone for another hour with U-Haul Roadside Assistance, then another 40 minutes for them to call us back, and then that guy wanted to "repair " it. How about CHANGE THE TIRE?!?? It is a SAFETY ISSUE!!! It was 1 pm before we finally got on the road, 5 before we got there, 8 before we got unloaded and turned around, and 2 before we got home. The mileage charge should've been for 17.6 miles instead they insisted on charging me 25 miles. Very unprofessional company. read more

I would HIGHLY recommend this specific U-Haul location. I had a problem with my U-Box that originated from Austin, TX, where I was quoted a price for Brookings, OR, when it turns out they don't deliver there. When my U-Box landed in Medford, it was the first I heard of this fact! This was a huge headache as I now had to get it to my location a couple hundred miles away at my own expense and trouble. This Medford location made it right at their own expense, when it was no fault of their own. They ultimately drove it to me themselves. They are honest and responsible. I wouldn`t go anywhere else for moving needs in Medford. As to the U-Box, I would get in writing your quote as to what location they are delivering to. They told me in Austin, that they were aware of this "oversight" happening to at least one other customer, and had called it to the attention of management. They were still "working out some kinks" in this new program. That's fine - but not appreciated at the customer's expense. No help was offered from that end. They may have this worked out by now, but just take note and be sure for yourself. Otherwise, it's a fairly good way to transport your stuff. But once again, I am highly impressed with this specific Medford U-Haul location! read more

A rather disappointing end to what is already the most frustrating week of my life: I called this U-Haul to inquire about a truck. I specifically stated I would need a 3/4 ton truck that was equipped to tow a 5000 pound travel trailer. No problem they said, they had one in stock. Great, my week from hell ends nicely, right? Made the reservation and went to pick up the truck. I rented the truck, only to find out it was an F-150, most likely a half ton, and had neither a 7 blade connector nor a brake controller, both very necessary to do the job I specifically stated the truck would be used for. I called back and was basically told "I don't know what to tell you." It was a great way to waste an hour and $40. read more
