if i could give zero stars i would!! i use this location several times a year and it's always something with them. front desk is unprofessional and rude!!! reps are forever changing. manager really isn't much help. i always have to dispute charges after being billed. they do not keep their word.was told i wouldn't be charged for remake of key. and he we are with a bill for $405. called and was told nothing they could do about it. read more

You can tell the GM is on vacation right now , I'll be coming back on the 7th when she returns to discuss the shady conduct happening behind the counter when she's not around, been coming to Penske for years, I've never been charged $300 a day for a 20 foot box truck. Javier promised me a 26 foot the night before, then they told us they don't give out 26 foot with no lift gate right when we get there in the morning, then we come back to return the truck an Javier said we just didn't have it in the morning, then charged me for a 26 foot truck. He then said anything bigger then a 16 foot they have to charge for a 26 foot, again, I have so much more info on this. Anyone else with similar experiences please contact me! I came here to rent a truck that I was going to use for a few weeks. Service here is friendlier than compared to most places in my honest opinion. Plenty of trucks here regardless of it feeling like it's in a weird location. Easy to get trucks fueled up and even returned. Fair prices too. read more

DONT RENT FROM THIS PENSKE EVER Their prices are double than any other Penske. Their front desk is poorly trained, poor communication. Manager is never around. I called this Penske to reserve a 26 ft box truck 3 days in advanced. I was put on a waitlist and the man said he will call me if one becomes available. He asked if we needed a liftgate since that would be easier to become available. I told him we don't need a liftgate. He said he would call me the next day and let me know if he found a truck for us. The next day i get a call saying he has a 26 foot box truck with no liftgate available for pickup Thursday morning at 7am. I went ahead and booked the reservation. I am not sure who I was communicating with but the number I was in contact with is (323) 724-4435. We arrived and were told they only have a 20 ft box truck available for us. We drove all the way to Montebello for the 26 ft truck since they are hard to find one available. We were told by the morning crew that 26 ft trucks are only available for one way only. Why weren't we told this from the beginning? Why did we have to find out the morning of our move that this was the case? Due to lack of communication through this staff and only receiving a 20 ft truck, this cost us time and money. If we had a bigger truck like we asked for and we needed, this wouldn't have been a problem. That morning we spoke with Ulysses and Marco, they stated they were not the ones that called and spoke to us about the 26 ft truck. We brought the truck back the same day and it costed over $500 just for a 20 foot box truck. We only went 40 miles... this place is a straight SCAM. read more

I have no idea why this place has such a low rating. They saved my move! I was able to reserve the truck size I needed the night before and they even accommodated my pick up time from 10am to 7am. When I arrived the front desk clerk was friendly and fast. The whole process took less than 10 minutes. Wonderful experience and highly recommend! read more

On the Penske website, I noticed they offer 1/2 day truck rental. I knew I didn't need a truck for a whole day, so I called the number to find more details. Jung answered the phone and was very professional and gave me the details of the truck rental. She told me that a 16' truck would be $34.95/day and $0.49/mile, but since you rent for a half a day (which is only 4 hours), then you pay $17.47 plus the $0.49/mile. When I told her how many miles I might drive, then she suggested I do the $49.99/day and $0.20/mile. Since you rent for 1/2 day, it's $25.00 plus $0.20/mile. This would have worked out cheaper for me than the truck I rented from Budget, but I wasn't sure if I could return the truck in 4 hours since I was driving in LA and on some freeways. My total would have been around $50 with Penske whereas it was $84 with Budget. When I did use the truck, I ended up returning it within 4 hours so I could have gone with Penske and saved $34. Oh well. Thanks Jung for helping me out though. Hopefully, one of you yelpers, who reads my review might be able to save some money. read more

We usually get truck rentals here couple times a year. Be very careful and go over your bill when returning your truck they always make mistakes in mileage or the gas charger. It's always that they end up charging more and I have to call and correct the bill. One time their truck got stuck on the way to Vegas and I tried to negotiate with them after getting no where I put a stop on my credit card payment. read more

Don't reply with "whatever inspections I made and noted." Then you have the nerve to be rude and say for us to not be rude with you. First of all is a customer is asking you what you noted you tell them do not expect them to feel comfortable with agreeing the damages you noted. If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. My father and his partner rented a truck from this particular location only for them to double charge. They already paid in cash only for my father's personal credit card to get charged. Not only they did take the cash, now they want more. The charges to the credit card were EVEN MORE than what was paid in cash. EVEN THE CREDIT CARD associate on the phone reviewing the case noticed date errors on what they sent them and what we sent them. My father's receipts said 2 days rentals when they say 3 days. The case handler noticed that as well. Not only that, my father and his partner forgot a box of almond cookies which is part of their company's food inventory. They are a food supplier. My father and partner had called back to mention they had left a box and wanted to go retrieve it. They lied and said they threw it away as policy because apparently anything forgotten is to be thrown away. THEN when the credit card bill came, my father called back to ask why they charged him. Guess what the person on the phone answered with? "Oh, by the way, your almond cookies were delicious." Seriously? I e-mailed corporate and am hoping to get a hold of someone above the store manager. Maybe a district or regional to let them know thieves and criminals are currently running this particular location. I would advise not renting from this place and if you must, to keep meticulous, perfect record. read more

Well according to some bad reviews I've read, looks like this place "accidentally" bills you for stuff you don't use or order. Well I'll tell you something else they "accidentally" forget to do, and that's service their trucks. My company rented a truck for me from this place a couple of days ago. When I got it, it was parked behind another truck that wouldn't start, so I had to wait an hour for them to move it. The fifth wheel needed to be greased. Then when I went back to my terminal to hook to my trailer, the left blinker lights didn't work. So I went back to the Penske and they replaced the 7 way connector. Now I'm stuck at the Penske in Vegas because the tires were low in air pressure. Four of the 10 tires were diagnosed as flat. All of which should have been taken care of before hand. Guess they just rather just spend the money they get from the "accidental" charges on other things instead of maintaining their vehicles! read more

My partner and I rented a 16' truck with a car carrier for our move to Los Angeles, CA, from Vancouver, WA. We went with Penske for convenience - as we picked it up at our storage unit in WA - and affordability (compared to Uhaul). We then ran into some trouble with getting an apartment in a timely manner and had to add days once in LA. Once we moved in, we returned our truck and car carrier with the help of employee Omar Nicholas, of whom was very helpful and fun-loving. In summary, we had a positive experience with Penske. If there was a negative star I would've checked it...We reserved a truck yesterday expecting it to be ready this morning, their excuse it broke down and gave us a flat bed - why confirm availability if it's broken down? This is not the first time that they lied. Stop lying it's bad for business. And to top it all off I lost one of my clients due to this incident and all they can give me for 3 months of hard work is a discount. I was calm and collect expecting some kind of refund or reimbursement but I guess being the "Good Guy" is not always the way to handle things but hey it is what it is. read more
