The ambiance and seating here is so cool and unique! I reccomend people stop by just for that, but, of course also for the delicious bubble tea and food. Service was kind and attentive. I reccomend the U me Bubble Tea and the Earl Grey Bubble Tea. One thing to note with the earl grey is they seem to use a syrup, but it gives it a "London Fog" type taste which is very refreshing. Fun place that would not be out of place in a back alley in Tokyo. (I've never been but have watched lots of ramen videos.) The "honeycomb" feature is a wooden staircase with tables tucked into the various levels. For the non-worker bees there are several standard tables next to the ordering counter and they were full on my first visit at 2 pm on a Saturday. I had a poke bowl and chose crispy shrimp as my protein: two big ones in a katsu batter with spicy topping, excellent. I do wish they had more base levels than white rice and lettuce. This is a great spot on the south side of Saratoga in a shopping center...so there's plenty of parking due to the big lot. Seating is limited, but also very cool. There's a "honeycomb" decor that has almost private booths and some additional seating near the entrance. The kitchen is open and quite small. They definitely do a lot of takeout. I've been there a few times and tasted the ramen (excellent); had a custom poke bowl once (loaded it up!) and an unagi don during my first visit (yum!). The staff are super nice and the food is prepared quickly. The bubble teas are really good, too. Most of the appetizers are fried but we did jump on some steamed dumpling options that did not disappoint. I stopped in for takeout as I was excited to try their ramen and poke bowl. Ample parking in a shopping center makes it rather easy to get in and order which is a real plus. I was also pleasantly surprised by the nice decor in this eatery. Their use of space is genius and very inviting. I really liked their honeycomb decor seating and thought that it was very cozy. I was greeted by the friendly staff as I placed my to go order for a customized salmon poke bowl, fruit teas, miso ramen and Ume ramen. Everything was made to order and packaged with care. Hidden gem inside a strip mall location and one of the few places in town open on a Monday night. Asked to sit in one of the cubby tables and denied until two tables left and we asked to be seated there and finally allowed when another group got seated there as well right after us without asking. The bottom tables were getting very crowded after we got seated and felt very uncomfortable so glad it felt a bit better upstairs. It took awhile for service and food to come. The takoyaki was actually Amazing!! One of the best I've had, so much filling and came piping hot. The rest was kind of disappointing though. The tonkotsu broth was not good to sip on and the noodles and meat were just alright, not much flavor. The gyudon was just alright too, beefs bit too tough and not much of it. Overall still a solid choice for food/service just not my cup of tea. They also didn't seem to have hot water to serve..? read more

My daughter asked if we could go to U ME for noodles and boba tea. I've never been here before. She is a huge fan. Immediately upon walking up to the front door the cute cat on the door greets you with a smile! The inside is modern, clean, and beautifully designed with a great mix of color, neon, and natural wood! The dining pods are so cool! The staff is warm, welcoming, and friendly! The service is amazingly fast! We ordered crab Rangoon to begin. Six perfectly crispy pockets of deliciously warm crab and slightly sweet cream cheese are perfect for two or three people! We didn't finish them all. Next we ordered Jasmine milk teas, a shrimp donburi bowl, and a Miso ramen bowl. Both were very large servings, deliciously flavored, and pleasantly presented! Excellent poke bowl and tonkotsu ramen. Watermelon slush was also tasty. The honeycomb seating is so cool and photogenic.

It seems a lot of thought and care was put into this business from the interior design, quality of ingredients, staff, and even the customized utensils; I appreciate the attention to detail. The honeycomb designed seating made for a chic but cozy dining setting. The Crab Rangoon, Pork Gyoza, and Tonkotsu Ramen were all very delicious. I love a good original boba tea that's not made too sweet, and the U ME Milk Tea was well balanced and did not disappoint. Our second time here, the first being takeout. Amazing and fun atmosphere! You'd never know you were in a strip mall from the interior of U*ME! The service was very attentive without being overbearing. The food is absolutely amazing also. My wife ordered a Poké Bowl and I ordered Ramen and we shared a Crab Rangoon appetizer. Everything was delicious and we both took food home. The seating is very hip and really quite smart for a restaurant of this size. Cute spot in a strip mall in Saratoga. We went around noon on a Thursday and had no problem being seated. They had honeycomb-style seating which looked really cool. The booths were very roomy. I ordered a matcha boba that was delicious...it was pretty sweet but you may be able to customize that. They also have alternative milk options like almond if you don't want dairy. For my meal, I got the beef ramen. I called ahead of time to see if they had gluten free options and they were very nice and told me yes, and they could sub out rice noodles in the ramen to make it gluten free, so I did that. The broth was very rich and flavorful, not too salty. With the rice noodles, it kind of resembled pho. Very tasty and perfect for a cold day. My friends ordered the crab Rangoon as an appetizer and they enjoyed it very much. Crispy and fresh. The chopsticks were custom with the restaurant name on them and came in a nice sleeve. They were high quality, along with the large wooden broth spoons for the ramen. Service was excellent and I felt like I was back in Japan. Definitely a gem in the Saratoga area. read more

First time at newly opened Ume. Pork bao buns to start were delicious, as was the Jingo Ku Ramen (spicy tonkatsu). Boba tea was ok, nothing great. Decor and design over all is really cool, with two stories of "pods" (3 x 2 tops and 2 x 4 tops) for eating in - unexpected given the location (strip mall between a rug store and nail salon). They were hit with all diners at once, around 7pm, resulting in what I expect is slower than usual service, but once they work out the kinks, should be all good.
