While visiting family in Saratoga we drove over to Sushi Wa for their all you can eat dinner. We were greeted right away and I believe we made a reservation due to having a party of 8 or more. We were seated right away and our server wasted no time in getting everyone started. Drinks came out quick and honestly so did our food. You order a few things at a time and they bring out small portions to keep it moving and avoid waste. I had gyoza , edamame, some steak and a few other things , the cucumber salad was tasty and everyone really enjoyed the rolls. Overall a real nice time and a really affordable meal. read more

Interior is lovely. Food quality is inconsistent, each dish is brought separately so one diner may sit with nothing as their companion gets multiple dishes. Servers seem oriented on controlling the length of your meal and minimizing costs. The sushi is generally good but the small plate dishes are incredibly small and the entire experience seems a bit bait and switch. The ice cream is the same little 10 centsm plastic cup you got in kindergarten and it's one per customer, because they bring the check after you consume your two spoonfuls of it. We've been there twice and I will not be returning again. Go to Sushi X Lounge in Latham or United Buffet in Schenectady for a far more enjoyable and consistent dining experience. read more

We stopped in this past weekend. We were greeted by a man holding a baby in a car seat and then seated. The baby spent most of the time on top of the front counter by the door. But, it wasn't crying. We ordered the all you can eat sushi. First thing I noticed that there was no Rock Shrimp or Mussels, which the sushi places in the Albany area do have. When we placed our order, we found out that sashimi is NOT included in the all you can eat price. There is an upcharge for each piece. I ordered some soup, seaweed salad, crab rangoon, sushi and a hand roll. My wife also ordered some hibachi steak. As we waited for our food to arrive, I realized that we were not given plates, just a bowl for soy sauce and one napkin with chop sticks and a fork. There was A LOT of rice on the sushi and in the hand roll. My wife and I can put away some sushi and we were full pretty quick. The hibachi steak was really good. Not sure what the sauce was. The steak was tasty by itself and really moist. On the plus side - the wasabi had a nice kick to it. I finished the meal with some ice cream and was surprised to see it came in a container like you buy in bulk from the grocery store. It was okay, I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. And if I was in the area, it wouldn't be my first place to eat - and I really do like sushi. read more

In general, I'm not a fan of the all you can eat sushi situation. I'm a skeptic. I worry about restaurants cutting corners and not serving the freshest stuff because running a restaurant is tough and competitive. I was also slightly concerned about the location-just seemed a bit off the beaten path for a Japanese restaurant. But-I gave it a shot and wasn't disappointed! We arrived a few minutes after they opened and when we left, there were only a few vacant tables. I'll get to the service in a minute...let's talk about the food. We stuck to basic sushi pieces and rolls, mostly. We started with hot sake, hot tea and ice water. Tried the avocado cucumber salad and seaweed salad - both good. The rolls and pieces were very fresh-I was surprised at how delicious the salmon was. Yellowtail was just average as was the tuna. Overall, the quality of the food was solid. The service started out pretty rough...not super friendly upon arrival and our initial wait staff member literally did not speak. Super awkward. Then, when our "main plate" of food was ready, it was delivered to the wrong table. The guy that received it said that he didn't touch it...and we had to take his/their word for it. We are still alive, so that's good news. Anyway, as it got busier, service improved. There was one person that really had her act together...friendly and fast. She was basically running the whole show at one point. The sushi bar and kitchen cranked everything out quickly as they got into a groove. The yelling/argument in the kitchen that was heard when we first arrived either stopped or was drowned out by the music (annoying pop tunes) and/or customer conversations. Anyway, worth a try. I hate to give a low review but I just picked up $50 worth of sushi and there was no spicy mayo on the spicy tuna or the spicy shrimp rolls. They also were described as crunchy but that part was also missing. Very disappointed. We are from out of town and won't have an opportunity to order again so that was that. We really didn't enjoy it sadly. I would suggest ordering any sauce you want on the side in case it is missing on the roll itself read more

We have been wanting to try this place. We went for lunch but got there too late. Had to return for dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive. Answered every question we had and took the time to explain how the ordering worked. Very helpful. The food was flavorful and plenty. The staff came over frequently to take our next order for all you can eat. Reminder to order small as not to overeat and waste food. They will charge you a-la carte price for anything you cannot finish. I will return for lunch to enjoy the all you can eat. The lunch menu is slightly smaller in choices but not by much. I enjoyed the fried rice the Yakisoba, hibachi and teriyaki plus the appetizers. I'll try more of the rolls next time. read more

Grand opening was late December 2021. My family has eaten here twice. It is an all-you-can-eat restaurant that also does a la carte take-out. They offer a good selection of small dinner plates, such as teriyaki salmon, chicken, shrimp and beef, fried rice and yakisoba (noodles) a selection of soup, salads, and appetizers. They have an extensive selection of regular and special rolls, hand rolls and 1 piece sushi offerings. The good: the food. I have enjoyed everything I've tried here. The kani salad and teriyaki salmon are a couple of my favorites. The rolls are tasty and skillfully made. A nice touch are the menus: they identify spicy or raw items, so you can order appropriately if you are new to this kind of cuisine. So, now the reasons for my two-star review: on our second visit, the service was really terrible. I think the waitress was new, like maybe her first day being a waitress anywhere and she seemed to have had no training and was working alone. We had to ask several times for a fork for my young daughter. We were given no plates, which makes things tough since many items, like 6-piece rolls and appetizers are served to share, at least that's the way my family does it. Each person had a plate on our first visit. I can forgive all of that, and would have left a 4-star review after our great first experience, but what ruined it for me this visit was when it came time to pay, I found they had added a $1.90 surcharge (they called it a convenience fee) to process my credit card. I've seen a couple other restaurants do that too, and I can't stand it. Transaction fees are a cost of doing business, and they should just suck it up. The amount of the surcharge is irrelevant. They snuck it onto my bill and I feel a bit cheated. They should let you know when you hand them a card or have it conspicuously posted. That surcharge might keep me from going back, just on principle. Wasabi in Saratoga is priced the same and does not pull this crap. It also resulted in me cutting my tip amount (usually very generous) in half. I really want the owners to be successful, and I always support small businesses. Lord knows Fort Edward needed a good restaurant, and now we have one. Hopefully they'll address the staffing issues and I'd love it if they'd reconsider the payment card surcharge. Sushi seem decent quality, but was super thin. Disappointing to spend $40 on sushi and still be hungry. The miso soup was good.

The best sushi and menu in the area it's a must try. 1 st of all it's all you can eat and during the week for 16$ you can try anything on the menu and it's freshly made on the spot and if your adventurous the salmon ball is awesome and all the rolls are big the crunch roll my favorite . Compare to all the area sushi spots this is the BEST Also weekends all day the prices do go up to 26.99 per person all you can eat for same items but either way it's worth it read more

The food was amazing! Every time I go the food and presentation is amazing. The service was top notch. I was able to understand them and they understood me. The over all place was very clean and pretty. Gave me a feeling like I was in Japan. I love that! I will definitely be going back. Went a little after it opened for the all you can eat sushi. The sushi was very high quality and tasted good. Little to no wait time on anything, nothing was forgotten with our orders as well. Service was very attentive. The atmosphere was really nice as well. The price was very fair we paid the lunch price. I would highly recommend this place for some dine in sushi!! A rare gem for sure! Food was good, service Ok but will never go there again. No prices on menu, a big sign saying lunch $14.99 and dinner around $25. We where there at 1:43 pm on a Saturday. Had a nice late lunch. Wanted to pay bill and their credit card machine was down. So when to my car to get some cash figuring a bill under $50. The servicer comes back with a $75 bill. I asked what happen to the $14.95 lunch. She said lunch was only Monday to Friday. I pointed out the black board that had both the lunch and dinner price and NO OTHER INFORMATION. THE SERVICER SAID THEY FORGOTTEN TO FLIP THE BOARD OVER. SHE DID THEN TO SHOW ONLT THE DINNER PRICE OF $25. I said that the posted price was $15 not $25. She said that was the price $25. The old bait and switch on the pricing. NEVER AGAIN WILL I EAT THERE. I would of given them no stars if I could. read more

So my family and I have eaten there several times and will continue to do so. My kids are really getting cultured as they have the chicken nuggets here one day, chicken nuggets at a Mexican restaurant the next, and chicken nuggets at an Italian restaurant. Jokes aside, the food is excellent as is the price for all you can eat. I've gone to other sushi all you can eat restaurants and they will serve sample portions of anything you order but Sushi Wa gives you a full serving for every item you order. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is sometimes the service gets a little slow or mixes up orders. We've had food brought to our table that we never ordered and also put an order in and had it forgotten. It happens, but the wait staff is always friendly and interacts well with the kids. Terrible service. Severe language barrier. Waitress was very eager to take our order while we were clearly still deciding. We waited after ordering for an hour without even getting our salads. We gestured to the waitress several times but were ignored. I can't comment on the quality of the food as we never served any. We ended up leaving and I don't think anyone even noticed. They seemed to be more focused on preparing take out orders. This place does not compare to Wasabi or Sushi X. We wanted to love Sushi Wa as it is convieniently for us. We will continue making the drive to Saratoga and Latham for excellent Sushi and service. read more

Sushi was so fresh, one of the best shrimp tempura rolls I have ever had. The hibachi steak was flavorful, the fried rice was delicious. Crab Rangoon's were very good. The waitress was very sweet and all of our food came out super quickly.
