I moved from Florida to Maine last month. Delivery showed up on time at both locations. The value was better than the other companies I compared POD do it yourself packing. I hired my own packer/unpacker on both ends which took about 2-3 hours. I was unsure whether I needed one POD or 2 and the best deal offered was I could order 2 but only be charged for what I used. The second POD was 1/2 the cost of using 1. This was very helpful. The only area that could use improvement is the customer service information by phone. I was concerned about my driveway getting damaged and one person told me they put a heavy rubber sheeting down under it for protection. Another call later said they put nothing under it. The answer is they put nothing under it but the operators were careful and no damage was made to my driveway. It was also by accident that I found out reading on line about ordering 2 pods but only being charged for what you use. If the initial representative had given me this information, it would have saved me time and stress. I would definitely use them again. read more

The U-Pack move that we just completed was absolutely incredible. From start to finish the process couldn't have been better. The call center representatives were extremely helpful and available to answer questions. The local hub employees on both ends of our move were just as helpful and accommodated a couple of special requests without hesitation. We moved from Florida to Georgia and the price we paid for U-Pack was less about half of what it would have cost to use U-Haul or Penske and then we would still have to drive the trucks and pay for fuel. I can't say enough about how great an experience this was. The only thing that would have made it better is if they would have loaded and unloaded the truck for me!! read more

The cubes are made of steel, so our goods were safe from harm. They brought them a day early. They were also larger than the other company's cubes. However, they did not pick them up until a day after we had arranged, but that was due to a storm coming in. This delayed our getting them delivered though, so we were without furniture for longer than I had anticipated. I saw that the cubes had been sitting in Dayton for several days. I don't understand why they could not have been delivered sooner, unless they wanted me to spend more money to get them earlier. Other than that, everything was great. However, I would not move this way again - no fault of UPack's -- it is just not a good way to move long distance. Next time, I will just throw almost everything out and start anew. read more

It would have been 5 stars had one incident not happened. More later. I reached out to u-haul about my pod move and the price they have me was like an ala carte menu and the price was crazy. I then found U-Pack on line and reached out to them and from he very first phone call a pleasure to deal with. The information they provided was precise and they answered any and all questions and the price was 700 dollars less than the first place. The drop off with Frank was effortless and in conversation with him he said either he or another would be back on the 23rd of December to pick it up. The night of the 22nd I called the local number they provided and spoke to a woman who told be it would be picked up the next day and when I asked her if they could provide a time frame she turned nasty and said we don't do that. When I explained it was done for the delivery she begrudgingly took my number and said fine we will call... That did not sit well with me so I called the 800 number and spoke to the same man I spoke with when first arranging and explained to him what happened. He put me on hold and called the local number and when he came back to me, my pick up that had been schedule for the next day a month in advance and confirmed 15 minutes earlier was now NOT being picked up as he spoke to the manager of that facility who said due to the holiday no trucks were going out. Keep in mind it was a FRIDAY the 23rd of December. That was not a holiday. Not believing this happened I called the local company and miraculously the manager picked up the phone and assured me it would not be picked up the 23rd. When I said to him the woman I spoke with 20 minutes earlier said it would he replied... no trucks are assigned. I found that odd and said she has been answering the phone all day and confirmed by pickup at 5:30 pm and now suddenly no pick ups. I felt because I asked her to provide a time for pick up that pissed her off... that said... they picked up on the 27th and the pod was delivered to me the first week of January and the local place where I loved to could don't have been any nicer and the driver was awesome who instead of coming back the next business day came back that very afternoon and took the pod away. Had the blip for pickup not happened the review would have been 5 stars. As for the box themselves... they are great. Metal and have plenty off room. You provide the lock and you are good to go. read more

U-Pack was on top of things regarding scheduling for pickup and delivery of my relocube. Both the people I spoke with over the phone and the people I met were genuinely nice - the gentleman delivering the cube going so far as to help unload! I had maybe one level of stuff, none of it furniture or bigger than a large box, and it took us all of 15 minutes to do between the three of us. That gentleman went the extra mile, and with that he could put the cube right back on the truck. I would recommend U-Pack to anyone I know (or don't know) who is fretting over the moving process. read more

This is by far the easiest and best value for moving long distance! The drivers are so professional and kind they show up when they say and answer your questions. I moved long distance twice using ABF and it's such a relief to not drive a truck or pull a trailer . You load it and they deliver it to your door they're very generous with giving you time to load and unload not like uhaul where everyday you pay and have strict time frames if you're moving I highly recommend ABF!! read more

I decided to move from Florida back up to Michigan and had a very difficult time finding a reasonably priced movers. I did a lot of research and spoke with a lot of different companies. I decided to go with U-Pack because of my amazing quote and the fast timing. After locking in my move date, the other companies I spoke with started sharing bad reviews and tried to convince me to switch companies. Of course this made me nervous... "Those cubes are cheap and they flood and people can break in and nothing is secure and everything arrives broken.... blah blah blah." NONE OF THAT WAS TRUE! I placed a tarp on the floor of my relo-cube just to be safe, there was no water present on the tarp when it arrived. My cube was very very sturdy and well made (metal). The Relocube was locked with my lock and no one had a key to it, so it could not be broken in to. The only things damaged in my cube were due to my packing and not placing the lighter things towards the top. It did not appear as though my cube was shaken or dropped or anything, everything was exactly where I packed it. As for the process, my box arrived on Friday and I requested for it to be picked up the following day (Saturday). They do not pick up boxes on weekends, so my box was picked up on the following Monday and I did not have to be present. The box was then transported to Atlanta for a couple days, Dayton, OH for a couple days, and then arrived in my destination state over the weekend. I called U-Pack on Monday Morning and asked for the cube to be delivered and it was delivered that day! 100% - 10/10 - Great company! read more

Don't rent a truck or call a full service mover(e.g. Atlas Van Lines, Mayflower, etc). U-Pack is fast friendly and HALF THE PRICE!! We moved from Cape Coral FL to Asheville NC for less than $2000. True, you have to pack yourself and u Nyack but we saved $4000 compared to a moving company! read more

After talking with a couple of high-pressure, all-inclusive moving companies and even providing a down payment for one, I was a little unnerved at the high-pressure sales pitch. They also estimated my move from FL to MN would take up to 21 days. I decided to call UPack. They were much more professional. The drop-off of the cube was quick and efficient. I was given advice on purchasing ratchet straps. (I will address this later.) The pick up of the cube was equally efficient. The driver even unloaded my cube after it was already on the truck because I realized I had left my wallet inside. He was very understanding. I could track the cube via a link I was given. It took just six days to arrive. Once it arrived, the driver asked how much I had inside. I told him and he offered to help me unpack! I told him I would pay him. He quickly helped me unload and refused any kind of payment. The price was as quoted. No upcharges. Now for some advice. I purchased those clear Steralite (sp?) boxes and used ratchet straps to secure them to the walls of the cube. Seemed secure. Wrong. They were all over the cube when it arrived. Only minor damage to an end table. I had used bungee cords for another column of moving boxes and secured each box. That column stayed put. If I did this again, I would use moving boxes (heavy cardboard) or less slippery plastic boxes and bungee each one. Trust me, it's worth it. read more
