They carefully took the item out of the shipping crate, working quickly and efficiently. When the time came to bring it in I expected them to call in more people. Incredibly they lifted the 500 pounds, brought it up the stairs, navigated the tight corner and placed it where it belonged. Even while moving the care used was impressive. Great pains wee used to avoid anything that could cause damage. There was no damage caused. This company is great at what they do and the price was more reasonable then expected. I was asked to have someone be there 30 minutes before the movers were scheduled to be there. I had queried whether to have the movers would like to utilize a basement bay or the front door. I was assured that the movers would prefer to utilize the front door. The movers had a 2 hour window and they never made it to the office in that time frame. They called 20 minutes after the window and said they would be there in 15 minutes. 45 minutes after the 2 hour window they called back saying that they were at the basement bay. I informed them that I was told that they would prefer the front door. It was not until 60 minutes after the 2 hour window that they made it to the office. It took them 15 minutes to move the truck from the back of the building to the front. They were pleasant enough. They moved the items to where they needed to go. I am not impressed that after all the communication there was time lost and more expense for us because of the lack of clarity between Mike and his movers. On my moving day, Joe was right--the move went very smoothly, and there were no glitches. The Crew worked well together, and they knew what they were doing. They also helped to move my antique bed which is over 100 years old, and it required disassembly and reassembly, and their Crew did it with ease. For my stereo system, they were able to disconnect and reconnect it for me. They called me back immediately after I sent a request for an estimate. These guys are very personable and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. They were very patient and understand my stress moving to a new city. After setting a date and time, they called a couple of times to re-confirm and always kept in contact with me. Although they arrived late due to the truck not being available on time (and because they are coming from Buffalo), they called me to let me know their ETA. They treated my belongings as their own. Jade was so kind to double wrap my medical degree when he realized that it did not have enough protection before placing in the truck. Scott and Jade work very well together and did an efficient and speedy job getting my two bedroom worth of belongings into the truck. They then drove to Pittsburgh same day and unpacked my things into the rooms designated. They had a grueling day which did not finish until 9 pm in Pittsburgh but they were professional and always had a positive attitude. Poor communication meant I had to cancel and they did not help me move…read more In November I requested a quote via Yelp for my in-town move. They quoted $175/hr and sent the owner's number. When I called to follow up on 11/24, his voicemail said he receives texts at the number too, I texted and he quoted $195/hr. When I asked him about the disparity he said we could go with the lower rate. In our initial conversation I explained that we were supposed to close on our house December 18th and wanted to move December 19th. I did note that when buying a house there are many moving parts so there was some concern that we might not be able to close/move on time but told him that I'd let him know as soon as I knew for sure and he was fine with that. 12/12, one week before the move I text the owner telling him we're on track to close on time and that I want to confirm we're scheduled for the following Saturday 12/15 I text the owner again and leave a voicemail, no response 12/16 I text the owner and leave a voicemail, my wife also calls and texts, at noon I text that if I don't hear back by 1:00 I'll need to find another company I found another company, still haven't heard a word from him. It's entirely possible that we were on his calendar and he would've shown up on time Saturday and is just terrible with communication, but after going four days without any confirmation, I couldn't risk not having a mover show up. I truly hope everything is ok and that I'm not bashing a business that had a valid reason for ghosting me, but until I hear otherwise from the owner, I can only guess.

They were there at 10:45 am. They were professional and polite, and handled my items with care. I think anyone's biggest concern when moving is that their belongings will get damaged. The crew was a 3 man crew. They asked exactly where I wanted everything to go in my new place. They efficiently put it where I asked. They got the move done in less than two hours and they were on their way. I don't think I could have asked for a better moving experience. I don't plan on moving out of my new apartment anytime soon, but I would definitely recommend A&L movers to anyone who is looking to move.
