I just moved 2000 miles from the Midwest to Wilmington. Overall this was a good experience. Pros: Overall good value compared to other moving companies. My service was easy to schedule, pick up and drop off at my new home. You are able to track your belongings which I appreciate. The truck arrived within the time frame provided. Customer service was responsive to questions. It was easy to pay my bill with the link provided. Cons: Keep in mind you are shipping with a freight company. All boxes arrived dusty and three boxes were wet and the belongings inside were moldy. As long as you protect your clothing, linens, and pillows with some sort of protective barrier inside the box, you are good to go. I would also throw a tarp over the top if your boxes. I would carefully protect your electronics in the original boxes. Cover furniture with plastic wrap and moving blankets. Overall I would use this service again keeping the above tips in mind. Lastly carefully scout the drop off location. It was a tight fit and while my landlord OK'd the truck drop off, I did not appreciate how much space the truck and cab would take up. read more

The online quote is misleading at best and predatory at worst. It's not an estimate; it's a lie. The quote will be at least $1,000 less than the actual cost. When selecting the desired footage, do not select an even number. You are required to install a bulkhead, but the footholds for it are every two feet (5', 7', 9', etc.). If you set your quote at 8' and pack your belongings up to 8', you will have to install the bulkhead at the 9' mark and then be charged an extra $123. You can find a better company to accommodate your move, I promise you. The only reason people end up using U-Pack is because they lied about the quote. Whatever your quote is, add $1000 to it and expect it to be even higher than that at the end of the day. To say this company is dishonest and shady would be the understatement of the year. Shame on them, and shame on me for falling into their trap. read more

Do not trust this company! they are a scam and will rip you off. they quoted me last week almost $1,000 less than what they are tying to charge me now! I called and tried to speak to someone in charge and the man on the phone said he was it. Very unhelpful! the whole thing is a scam, if i could take it all back and go with someone else i would because i am being ripped off and no one will help me. read more

Upack was very helpful, responsive and accommodating when moving over 400 miles. The truck drivers I encountered were so helpful, accommodating to my 1000 questions and were just pleasant to deal with. My movers left one box and other materials in the trailer and they called me to let me know! I would most definitely use them to move again! read more

Okay so its a couple reasons why it is not getting five stars! They are so small but so huge at the same time. First, they are closed on the weekends. So say you are done packing up around 5 on a Friday? They literally will not get to your cube until the next available business day. Which is terrible because PEOPLE MOVE ON THE WEEKENDS SOMETIMES DUDE . Secondly, their "tracker" is pretty off. It was times during my move that I would call them and they would say something and the tracker would say something different! My cube was at the destination center and the tracker never even told me! So I could have had my items coming to me but when I called they were "booked for that day" so I had to wait ANOTHER DAY for my belongings. It gets super frustrating at times. I don't think I'd use it ever again. Price is what warrants the 3 stars. read more

Just picked up my shipment and let me give some insight. This would be 5 stars because only two things had damage, but let me explain the removal of two stars. On the phone you will be quoted for an odd amount of space (ex. 5', 7'), and the trailers are all even feet. So I was quoted for 7', but the gate was hooked up at 8' and all my stuff during travel shifted against the door. What would have been a bill a little over $1100 was over $1200 for that extra foot of space taken up. The second thing, I shipped a low riding motorcycle. I was told motorcycles can be shipped through the trailer at no addition cost except space. For all you riders with low bikes be warned, the ramp is not sufficient to go up or down. Your bike will catch at the top, going up you can gun it and take a little air, going down you are most likely to bail if not careful. The ramp is narrow, so no walking the bike down, once you are at a point of no return its either be careful or be ready to bail. The ramp doesn't lock in so it might move as well. Personally, pay the extra cash to have a low trailer ship the bike, or at least someone with a ramp sufficient to load the bike. Third thing you need to know. You have 3 days to load and unload. If you get to a Friday evening and finish, there is no voicemail to say for the company to come and get the trailer. They are gone by 5pm and not open on the weekends. read more

My items were damaged while in transit from ABF Upack. I have not been offered any consolation for the excessive damage. The heaviest boxes were packed on top of my coffee table which gave way to the weight of the boxes and the legs broke. The dresser nearly toppled over and thank goodness the unloaders were able to save the fall otherwise there could have been potentially more damage. My chest drawers have the handles off and there are scratches. I called ABF UPack (also known as Moving Staffers) and their customer service was not at all helpful. I sent an email of the photos of the damage, but I have yet to hear back from them. I never was offered the option of insurance, perhaps if I was I could at least have some opportunity to get my coffee table back. I just got my furniture unloaded off the truck from UPack.com and my coffee table was destroyed, my dresser and chest drawer had the handles ripped off and major scratches, and my headboard was damaged. I will NEVER use this company's services again. I was never offered insurance, so I am at a loss. I called customer service and they were very detached and lacked empathy. If you ever decide to use Upack.com make sure you INSIST on getting insurance, and watch the way the loaders pack your stuff on the trailer. I recently moved from out of state to Wilmington via ABF. Not having done this before, I was not certain what to expect. The experience with ABF - both locally and nationally - was great. The Wilmington terminal, drivers and staff who answered questions were beyond helpful and very kind. Moving is stressful. They made it much less so. I used the Upack loaders and in loaders as well.
