Very poor performance. They were fully aware of the scope of the job but showed up with only two men and proceeded to ruminate about how to move the items. After a few hours, they gave up. They sought to bill me for three hours of work when the job had not been done. We rescheduled for another day when they were supposed to bring four men but they later informed me that they didn't want the job after I rearranged my schedule to accommodate them. I used them twice in the past 10 years. Efficient, friendly and pack well. However both times we found a box missing. First time in Hickory it was a box with a crystal vase I'll never see again, this time it was one of the first boxes they packed and it was untaped so they saw what was in it. Books and my Alexa. I'll never see them again we searched for a year.. it's obvious what happened. The office of course supported them and wouldn't help us. Unfortunately I can't use them again for this reason. I don't know if my experience could have gone any worse. I have moved a few times and if I could give zero stars I would. I recently used Two Men and a Truck for a fairly local move to a brand new home I purchased. They damaged my walls, my floors, my mouldings, pretty much every piece of furniture they moved, so much so at one point one of the workers told us that, "I think you can touch that up" for the damage to our new king size wood bed frame. So my brand new house lasted a day! They also didn't fully put back together the furniture so when they left it was wobbly and i had to finish putting it back together myself. If that wasn't enough I had 4 brand new moving blankets that I had purchased from Lowes to move some sentimental pieces that I didn't want them moving. They were in a storage tote in the garage with an old quilt over them. When I went to look for them they were gone. They took those and left the quilt. I have sent 2 emails to the company with no response. So if you are up for a damaged home, furniture, and who knows what else, give Two men and a truck a call. Update: after showing them all the damage, they said the contract we signed basically allows for a certain amount of damage per the amount of weight they moved. So they basically have carte blanche to damage and steal your stuff with no accountability! Said they would come look at the floor, thats it. The men sent to move my furniture were not provided with the proper equipment to make the move, including something as basic as a moving dolly. Because of this, it took them an extremely long time to pack up and load my furniture, resulting in my being charged hundreds of extra dollars for the additional time! In addition, several pieces of furniture were damaged and they took no responsibility at all for the damage. There is no way I would ever use this company again. read more

Where do I start... Used them to move on June 24th. I was moving from a house in Surf City to an apartment in Wilmington, 30 minute drive. They took an hour and a half to arrive and of course they start their timer when they leave their warehouse. They brought the wrong sized truck so they couldn't fit everything in it. Had to wait for second truck to arrive, which means I had to tip an extra team of workers, although they did not charge me for the second team of workers' time. During transport, the first team damaged part of my sectional couch and my 82" Samsung TV. Conveniently, they hid the part of the couch that was damaged, as I was in and out during the move in process and I wouldn't notice. They left both of my TVs wrapped in their moving blankets. When I unwrapped them, somehow both of them were upside down. The 82" one is now broken due to them being placed upside down. I proceeded to make a claim and I had to beg for an answer back. No surprise my claim got denied due to the fact that I signed a piece of paper which stated everything was OK. They took no ownership of the damage. Absolutely horrid experience! They did not use any plastic wrap on any of my furniture, they left the first house without walking through with me because they missed a five large items that neither me or my husband can move because my husband is sick with cancer. I asked them several times to take several certain pieces of furniture and they completely ignored us. This was a move from Wilmington to Rocky Point. I was left alone at the end of move with the 3 movers and they bullied me into signing a waiver that the move went well, I started to argue with the lead mover and he kept saying he did his job! No he didn't here is proof!!!! . One of them told my husband he has a gun! I had to get all of my furniture professionally cleaned because they did not wrap it. Thank God I didn't let them take my TVs. They also put a huge gauge in my wall when they brought in my bed (which initially they did not want to take apart because they are lazy) Worst moving experience ever. We moved several furniture items from Wilmington to Charlottesville, NC. Drivers communicated with me in the morning their arrival time. They arrived on time and were very professional and friendly. They loaded my items in just over an hour, met me on the other end of the five hour drive right on time and unloaded just as quickly. My dinning room table did get a crack on a bottom rail during move in. I was told I would get a call from the office on that but I've not heard from them yet. Costco had two men and a truck deliver and install a washer and dryer on May 1 . Installation was not done correctly due to wrong length of exhaust tubing for dryer . When truck pulled away it went over curbing and did $115 worth of damage to lawn. Representative Jonathan did not get the job taken care of . As of today never heard from owner of company, the hiring firm Innoval solutions who Costco hired to handle the installation .i have a damage claim with Innoval Solutions and also Jonathan told me to hire someone and they would pay them . I called this company for an estimated cost to move my household goods a total of 30 miles and put my stuff in a building I own in Burgaw. Frank came out and I showed him every room and everything I needed moved. The next day Frank emailed me his estimate of $3920.58 for everything. I agreed for his company to make the move. The original movers from Atlanta claimed to be experts (Not Two Men and a Truck). The reality however was totally different. The piano case was significantly damaged and they were unable to bring the piano beyond the foyer of the house. Two Men and a Truck Wilmington were recommended by a local piano store. Two Men and a Truck Wilmington came prepared with 3 men and a dolly. The piano was cushioned with a quilted pad and wrapped in shrink wrap. They were able to turn the upright piano to a vertical position and get it around 2 sharp corners. The total operation took less than 5 minutes and the piano was unscathed. While it was expensive, at $180.00 it was worth it to have the piano protected and moved to its proper place in such a careful manner. I would highly recommend this team. read more

I wish I didn't have to leave 1 star! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They rip you off charge you ridiculous prices and everyone gives you a different amount. I had 4 movers. 2 of which was missing for over an hour. They tore up my washer and dryer, my door frame and my bed. They promised to refund me money that never happened and they won't respond to my emails or messages. I am waiting on corporate to contact me now. I also purchased the extra insurance for more money because they are awesome at updating to a crying upset woman. They sent someone to touch up my door frame and bed. As others have said, if I could give them zero stars I would. I should have gone with the majority of these reviews and hired another firm. They damaged glass on a table and 2 sleep sofas. The sleep sofas, both of which were in excellent condition prior to the move, were dragged on the floor/carpet when moving which put holes in the fabric. The one sofa also got torn on the top and the wood frame broken. Dirt marks from the movers all over the other sofa. Neither article was wrapped by them even though I purchased moving blankets. Then, after purchasing full coverage insurance, Todd Eberhardt, the branch owner, has tried to settle for less. Don't. Just don't. The office staff was friendly enough but I had an atrocious experience with the movers. I moved from a 1 bedroom apartment into a storage unit. At the storage unit, they shattered my $700 dining room table top while ONE GUY tried to move it by himself (a 6'x4' piece of glass - come on!) and while I went to get a dust pan & broom I saw them DRAG the table base across the ground!! I could only imagine what would have happened if I was not with them the whole time. They did not even wrap my Tiffany glass lamp (irreplaceable) despite me asking them to. Low and behold, it was misshapen when coming out of the truck. The storage office staff was equally appalled as they were watching on camera the whole time. While the move went relatively smooth, there were damaged items due to dropping and an apparent leaky truck. I filed the appropriate claim having purchased the additional 'full value' insurance. I had to replace two full sized bookcases and a leather hat that had been a gift. The cost to REPLACE the damaged goods was in the neighborhood of $900 yet according to their adjuster 'full value' was for less than a third of that. Two Men and a Truck offered exceptional service and care from start to finish. I stored purchased furniture over a 6 month period, shipping items to them gradually as I purchased them. The office staff (Dan) tracked all shipments received, letting me know as items arrived. And then the moving staff brought the contents of my house to the site, uncrating and assembling a houseful of furniture, beds, and mattresses. PSA: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If I could give them zero stars I would. I was given a quote for an assembly that was around $200-400 for new furniture, no unloading, no loading, just assembly and I was assured it would be in this price range. I repeated time and time again it was okay that it was new furniture not even out of the box. When the bill came they charged me $680, left their PERSONAL trash in my new house, left the boxes and styrofoam everywhere for us to clean, didn't tell us they were staying longer and the price would increase, and had inappropriate conversations the entire time. I took this up with the manager, Joe, and because they're claiming they cannot give me any type of compensation for this because I asked for new furniture to be assembled, when up front I said multiple times that it was from Wayfair and still in the boxes never assembled to Danielle Howell. We used Two Men and a Truck in Wilmington for a distance move. Overall, our initial experience with them was great. However; the initial estimate we were given was off by 4500lbs; in the world of moves that equates to an extra $1200.00 in expense. In addition, they could not fit all of our belongings on one truck (because the weight was so significantly different) some of our things were put on a second truck. When we chose this company we did so because we wanted one move, one truck, and the same people loading and unloading our belongings. We have moved many times and this was by far the most disappointing. In agreeing to split the move, some items had to be removed from the truck; we specifically asked for certain things to be left so they would be delivered with the first truck. None of the requested items were there on delivery day. A week later, a second truck came with the remainder of our things. The driver who they labeled "Their best." Phoned the day before we were due for delivery requesting to deliver between 9-10p, we have an HOA and this would not work. He then offered 6:30am the next morning; again our HOA would not permit this. An agreed upon time was reached of between 7:30-8a. At 8:15a no truck had arrived, no one from the company or the driver called to update us on a time. At 9:30a the truck arrived. The drivers did not introduce themselves, were rude and passive aggressive. Lastly, they did not place the boxes in our house, instead left them in the driveway. When you pay an additional $1200. for a move you expect to get what your contract states. It was the negligence of the company that created a second move. To then have the moving company "transport" items and not move them? It doesn't sit well. Also administration was supposedly contacted, we heard nothing back from them for over two weeks. They apologized, but you legally did not do as promised. My suggestion is if they are off on the weight and need to utilize a second truck; have them load all of your belongings onto another truck. Also, stick with using them for local moves, they do not seem to have their ducks in a row when it comes to distance moves. read more

Trey came out give me a quote for two men for $700 to move in a Thursday. I had to push a day because my wood floors were not complete. On Friday three men in the truck show up it cost me $1000 with the same amount of time quoted with two men. And I already moved three truckloads where the stuff. I filled out the two men in the truck question here and gave them poor rankings. The owner called me up asking if there was anything you could do. He wanted to make the situation right didn't want an unhappy customer. I told him should something should've been done the day of the move. I told him I wasn't asking for anything. If you wanted to offer something I would consider his offer. 10 days later I still heard back from the owner. If these guys give you a quote at 40 to 50% that'll get you your actual moving cost. Worst moving experience ever. Took over 12 hr for local move. Drive time 4 mi. They didn't read labels on boxes. Put stuff haphazardly in garage so I couldn't find the stuff that's supposed to be in house. Ruined my sleep number bed. Lost a tv. Parker smoked the whole time. I used two men and a truck recently to move from one--one bedroom first floor apartment to a third floor--three bedroom apartment thinking i would help save my parents from having to come down and help me...WRONG. before then arrived i got a call that they were lost and they had the wrong address for me. upon giving them the apartment complex i lived in--they still needed directions. wilmington is a college town and my apart is right next to the university. when the 3 men got there i was told i would owe them $125 already just for travel, my apartment complex was 10.4 miles from where they work and my new apartment was 9.3miles back to where they work, an hour to travel 19.7 miles? crazy to me. my parents live in jacksonville, and with traffic i make it there in an hour. the moving rate was $125 which i was aware of before the move--had no idea the 'riding in an air conditioned truck' rate was the same. RIDICULOUS. the man who was in charge was a jerk, tried to take his sweet time doing everything, trying to draw out every minute, moving one stool at a time. he quoted me 45 minutes to just get my things on the truck--little flash forward, it took us an hour altogether to get the things on the truck, moved to my new apartment, and up the stairs, 45 minutes my ass. he over quoted me then had an attitude when we tried to hurry things along by helping out. he also took a work call, the invented voicemail for a reason, and a personal call, standing around chatting about what he and his significant other were going to do that night. again, RIDICULOUS. after all of this i called the next day to talk to a manager or owner to see if my travel expenses were accurate and to see if anyone thought they were ridiculous as me, and to complain about the guy in charge. i was told there was no manager in, and they didn't know when the owner would be in. the woman on the phone assured me that she would get together the mileage and have one of them call me back...guess what? 3 weeks later and no call. they also never mailed me the comment card that i was supposed to give my feedback on, figured they knew it wouldn't be good, so i've taken to the internet to let everyone know to NOT use this company. they try to nickel and dime you. rent a penske truck instead and do it yourself, my friend ended up doing that, moved an hour away, and saved more than half of what i spent. horrible business.
