I had a Vera Wang black, dress jacket that had been successfully cleaned 5-times by the previous owner. A week ago, after giving the attendant my jacket, I learn there's new ownership & all items go to Lake Geneva for cleaning, nothing is done in house; no longer is there next day service. I dropped off on Wednesday with a Monday pickup. Following the Monday pickup & once I removed the bag at home I was shocked to see my jacket is ruined. It looks like they "washed" it & took a hot iron to it! The flat-black fabric is now shiny & every seam outline is visible. One lapel was wrinkled with a reverse fold. The fabric is ruined & no longer hangs the way it did when I dropped it off. This was an expensive jacket that is part of my uniform dress-attire to be worn by volunteers at an upscale venue in Rockford. It is no longer wearable. BEWARE, of the so-called dry cleaning that business is delivering. read more

I'm not sure what happened with the service over the last couple of yrs, but it has DRAMATICALLY gone....DOWN! Some of the worst customer service from "service workers". They, nor the owner has any idea of curiosity, consideration, and respect. It's like they act as if they are not capable of making an error, like they're super human. Had a new suit cleaned, and came back with a heavy white stain on the knee. I didn't notice this until I was home and putting it on for an event. When I notified them a couple days later, I was accused of putting it there! They said i put gum on my suit before and are blaming them. When I mentioned it was a new suit she told me that could have happened in my care, and that I should have noticed it before leaving the store. I don't think they understand how a successful business works. It can't be everyone else's fault all the time. But I guess it's true what they say...cheap prices equal cheap service, and cheap attitudes. Being so cheap will end up costing them in the end. Although the per-price price is not as low as it was, it's still under $3 per item and the crew kicks butt by getting your items done by 5 p.m. when you drop your items off by 9 a.m. at this East Riverside location. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! If your clothes are cheap, and you don't mind your clothes being ruined, if you don't mind losing your favorite shirt, dress or suit due to shoddy service, as well as thievery, no guarantees on the quality of work, then by all means put your clothes in this cleaners. I have put clothing items in this cleaners and some of them have come up missing. I put a pair of slacks in that cleaners, they put a pair of pants that did not belong to me in order to keep the item count the same as when I dropped them off. They called me saying they made a mistake, they asked me to return the brand new slacks they gave me by "mistake" they have yet to return the slacks that I placed in this cleaners. Is it a coincidence that the counter clerk is the same size as I am? The owner is rude, unprofessional, disrespectful, irresponsible, as well as mean spirited. I put a very nice shirt that they ruined one of the buttons, this I might add was vindictive due to a prior incident when the counter clerk was trying to serve a customer before he served me, I had been there first. I corrected his mistake and they ruined my shirt. Coincidence? I think not. When you are serving the public, you should do your best to ensure that all of your customers are satisfied. There is another cleaners two blocks to the west on the same side of the street A-1 Cleaners, they might charge a little more than U.S. Cleaners, but it is worth it. Integrity is job 1. As a Veteran, I chose U.S. cleaners because of the "Patriotic" name of the business. Well, let's just say, this owner treated me and my business like I was from a third world country. I strongly recommend that you DO NOT patronize this business. It is a rip off. Maybe it a cheap price because they do substandard work. Buyer beware. read more

Be very careful at this dry cleaner. They will ruin your stuff; refuse to replace the item; and, even force you to ask for the money back that you paid to have your item ruined in the first place. Their motto is: "Life is not perfect" so deal with it. Also, the owner's wife is extremely rude and not customer friendly at all. She will interrupt you and just plain walk away while you are trying to discuss your ruined item. If this is what you're looking for, then this is the place for you. I had a horrible experience with the customer service at the Loves Park location. The employee and receipt misrepresented the business hours. (I am speaking of Saturday hours) When I returned to get my items, they were closed. I needed the items for an interview out of town. This resulted in me scrambling around town to find a suit with all the correct alterations. You can't imagine the day I had!!!!!! Once I returned to pick up my items, I mentioned it to the employee behind the counter. She was rude and non-sympathetic, especially when the error was made on their behalf. She told me "what difference does it make, its only $4.00. What do you want me to do about it". What she didn't realize.......It cost me a lot more than $4.00 due to their error!!!! read more

Had my $650 suit damaged, poorly cleaned, and a shirt damaged by a piece of metal embedded into the back of it like some bedazzled piece. Was told to call this store branch for complaints. They won't answer the phone because they are "too busy" but 3 women were up front when I came in and 2 were doing nothing. It was hard getting out who to talk to and I was told I would have to try and stop in to see if Andy was there some other time. I said that is ridiculous that they ruin my property and I have to take time out of my day to come in and still no resolution. The woman said well it seems you aren't very happy with us anyway. I believe it was the owner's girlfriend who was so completely rude to me. Will never use this place again. As of 7:30pm the owner still has not contacted me. read more

Had the absolute worst dry cleaning experience here and Alan the owner is the worst owner I have ever met ! After giving them my favorite white pair of jeans they returned them with 3 large pick stains ! after several attempts to remove them they told me there was nothing they could, instead of trying to do their best from the get go and clean them the best they could on the first try I wasted my time going back and forth 3 times and on their last attempt I so angry I was told to speak to the owner who was so rude and unapologetic and told me they could not do anything for me . If this is how they treat their customers they don't deserve to be in business . Please don't waste your time and money here , go somewhere else where they will appreciate your business and do the right thing from the start. read more

I have been going to this cleaner for the last 10 years; but in the last 2 years the quality of workmanship has went to the dogs. You specify that you want your jeans with a crease and you get them back folded together; and when you open them -- they are wide legged not creased at all. You should not have to iron the clothes when you get them; but, again, in this last year, especially, you cannot just put the clothes on and wear them; they have to be repressed again. I travel from Madison, use to live in Rockford, to still go to this cleaner. I do not know if these cleaners are privately owned; if so, I will try the one on Alpine before I give up entirely. Upon picking up the item, I walked in an found our item sitting on top of a pile cloths which weren't bag. I asked if it had be cleaned and the response was yes, but our item also wasn't bagged. Took everything home and one of our items smelled like rotten sewage when we took it out of the bag. Went back to the store and asked for a refund. I was told it was our problem, and we were the cause. Their cleaners couldn't have possibly caused the problem. I said that's fine just refund my money. "No, I am sorry I will not issue you a refund." I had to ask for my receipt back. I will never use this cleaners again and would never recommend US Cleaners on E. I also had a terrible experience with this business. I brought in a couple dress shirts into this location and picked them up assuming that they were cleaned and had no problems. I then go to wear one and realize that both items have stains all over them. I then take them back to the store and give them a chance to fix the issue. After 2 days and 2 trips back to the store, I find out that the stains are still there. I ask the employees to please have the owner/manager call me to find out the next step towards a solution and of course, no call. After a few days out of town, I return back to the store and am informed that I needed to talk to the owner, but would have to wait until after she came back from vacation. I stop in this morning, expecting to be able to figure out a solution to the issue and all I get is an owner that refuses to accept any kind of responsibility and one that has the audacity to tell me that I must have damaged the shirts before I brought them in because no other clothes had any damage to them. Now I see a couple of other reviews on Yelp find out the other complaints were were at the same time my issue was. She has to be one of the most arrogant business owners that I have ever met, and with that kind of customer service, I can't believe this place is still in business. This is my first Yelp....I have never wanted to or been tempered to write a Yelp. I am a very easy going person but the treatment I received at this place....HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service!! The owner's wife is the definition of a condescending b$#%. I haven't been there in forever but when I'm in town & have some stuff I'll take them there. They're cheap & good...rephrase WERE good. So I took some tops & a pair of pants there months ago-my black sorta leathery looking ones & I get them back & they're stretched with the machine marks on them like they had the press on to high. So last time I was in there I told the girl & she's like oh they should go away after you wear them if not bring them in we can do something. Ok ...tops good, pants no. Months later I took my dress I bought with you in. Well I get it & guess what....it has a little hole in it. So I stopped in with my clothes...just horrible customer service. I mean we've all worked some form of customer service...people suck we all know this but act like you care or at the very least PRETEND you you care!! I showed her my pants. At first she pretends not to see or understand what I'm talking about. Then says "They're stretched, pants stretch." Yes I get pants stretch but they don't stretch with machine marks on them! Other stupid remarks from her. At one point she suggests I take them back to the store. What is the store going to do I ask her?! "Show them what happened." Ummm...I didn't buy them like this, the store didn't sell them like this to me. Why are they going to care? If they looked like this I would never have bought them. Moving on to the dress because her brain isn't comprehending the fact I'm not falling for her stupidity & blame game. I show her the hole--which granted is small but my fear it will stretch. She looks at me "we don't put holes in people's clothes." Me: "obviously it was an accident but there is a hole and it's a new dress that I've only worn once & it was never there." Refused to do anything, said she wouldn't do anything I get it-- sometimes you can't do anything but It was more so her attitude. Like I was an idiot & she just didn't care. Well then I don't care to use your services & give you my money so you can buy & wear your 30 lbs of makeup. I will NEVER go back there again. I would rather spend $10 dry cleaning an item then step foot back in that place!! FYI: all three locations have the same owner! read more
