The problem as to why I am…read moreprobably not going to return here is there is one lady that works there that acts like she's irritated you even came into the establishment and she was working tonight. I worked a double shift and got off in time to catch the last wash by 8pm. I pull up at 7:46 and lights are dimmed off and doors are locked. So I call and the rude one answers and I said politely that the doors were locked and she got attitude and was like it been dead so she got approval to close early. The attitude that it was said with was her usual "annoyed that you even came" type thing. So if she is working then who knows when the last wash is cuz the last time she closed up early it was cuz her head hurt. So just a heads up if you're heading here, call before ya go cuz you may just get an attitude and a locked door.

I walk in and there's clothes everywhere, all over the floor. I counted at least 10 items of…read moreclothing strewn here and there. Socks, dirty underwear. Etc. No one at all seemed interested in picking any of it up.... Problem was, someone put something in the washer and/or dryer which had insulation. I know this because at some point before my arrival, it exploded. That didn't stop the owner from taking it out of the washer, getting literally hundreds of pieces of insulation all over the floor between there and the dryer. He must've gotten it dry though, cuz the trail let over to the dryer wall where only roughly 50% of the dryers don't have 'out of service' scribbled on sticky notes attached to the insides. That's only on the ones that actually have doors The same goes for the washers. I finally found one for my big load which resembled the one I use at the Broadway laundromat. The similarities end there. No matter what the setting, this thing barely trickled out enough water to turn the mixture inside sudsy. I watched a dry towel go around in circles for the first 10 minutes. Finally enough water got in there before the rinse cycle started but damn. Now to the load of whites. I get it loaded up, detergent and bleach. Look around for a sink to wash out the cup. No sink. That's ok I'll just use the bathroom. Nope that's out of order Only one bathroom too, so I'm SOL. I'm thinking ok maybe I can quickly pull up the washer lid and rinse out the cup while it's filling. Nope. I did accomplish something though... In that mindless chaos of trying to rinse the bleach out of the detergent cup, I somehow managed to get a bunch of it on my army hoody sleeve. So I'll need to get a grey permanent marker and make an attempt at hiding that mistake. I somehow made it to drying, after finding 4 in the general vicinity of one another that aren't broken and the doors actually shut. All I had to do was pull out someone's dirty socks from one, and someone's dirty panties from another. I'm trying to decide right now if I prefer the bed bugs and cockroaches at the Broadway location Oh to top it off, of the machines that do work, about 10 that I've counted still have stuff in them since I got here. There's only 3 people here and I've been here the longest lol. An attendant girl finally came out a few minutes ago to clean it all up. She looked like she been sleeping in the back. Didn't have a care in the world. I take it this is business as usual here. Also someone stole my cart in the minute it took me to take the whites out to the car. Oh I almost forgot to mention: nonstop crying babies and 'baby shark' on repeat for 30 minutes straight. Somebody's mom thought blasting that was the best idea to drown out the children. Yeah it was an experience. The only thing that was really nice was the view. When smokers weren't stepping in front of the window, I could see the brick laid abandoned factories and all the empty lots across the street.

This place "is the Bomb!" The staff and owner I have met are warm, friendly and so helpful. The space is very clean, well cared for and has a fireman motif that'll put a smile on your face. It's spacious with a load of different size washing machines that are all new and do a great job cleaning the laundry. I love these front loaders. Oh, water softener makes the cloths keep their colors as well as your whites stay white. Now that's a plus! Dryers available on both sides of the long walls and many tables and baskets all around to use. I have found the people using the machines to be respectful of each other and friendly as well (just as a sidebar note). Good availability for parking too. You gotta try it. read more

So... our washer died. I've been limping by washing small loads at my parents house... but it was time to get it all done. My kids go to RPS schools and I had seen a flyer for 5 Alarm through their school. We are a family of 5 - so I had 7 loads to wash. The attendant that was here this morning was/is awesome. She explained everything to me. The app and how to run the machines. The machines are oversized, so I was able to get all of my loads into four machines. The laundromat is very brightly lit and smells like fresh laundry! The app is super easy to use. Lots of room inside and places to sit. We will be back again if the washer doesn't get fixed soon! read more

I've used this 5-alarm laundry location a few times now, and I've always loved how well it's taken care of. The onsite staff is super friendly and always ready to help and the fireman's gear hanging on the wall is emotionally moving and powerful. The gentleman that works there is so nice and helps you get started with no judgment regardless of how much laundry you have. The store was clean and all the machines were in great shape. You can pay with coins, but the app is incredibly easy and faster. Will definitely become a regular. read more

Three of the ginormous ones, several more a little smaller. Then many regular sized front loading and top loading machines. One problem starts here with the washing machines. The very large ones don't spin well enough. If the attendant is not there to push the machine along a little at the end, you have a very damp finished load -- that requires a fortune to dry. The large dryers were also problematic, finicky. On the top, the one next in from the left does not heat up properly. The controls for multiple machines created problems for all somewhere during their attempts to use them. The other larger dryers on the other side were much easier to use, had no issues that I could see. Laundromat has a bathroom, vending machine, a dispenser for laundry supplies, as well as a small play area for children. There are several tables to fold laundry, chairs and rolling carts with the rack to hang things from. These are all clean and in good shape. The washers/ dryers use a card system. You purchase a plastic card at a vending machine by the desk, then you load it up either with cash or from a credit card. System seems to work satisfactorily. Laundromat opens at 7:00 AM weekdays. That looks to also be the best time to get the large machines. Staff assistance is only available until 11:00 AM.

As im loading my last basket into the dryer I start to hear the employee start talking about ME to other customers in the laundromat. telling them "its unfair I got to use the large dryers because I wasn't a REAL customer, like they were." and that i "shouldn't even be allowed to use the large dryers, because now they couldn't if they wanted too." what bothers me is I don't understand her intention in saying anything. not only was it rude and very unprofessional to be speaking about customers behind their back but her end goal is what bothered me. what she trying to start a fight between me and the other customers for her own entertainment? because going around gossiping to strangers is just weird, it felt like she was some high school bully trying to sow discord between 2 people. mind you in the last few months we have loaded and spent well over $500 at this location. I have a infant and laundry is a constant for me, and I was recommended the larger dryers several times before by much kinder employees. Additionally if im PAYING FOR A SERVICE then I should be allowed to use whatever dryer I would like to so long as its unoccupied. Keep in mind never once did she approach me to inform me it was an issue. so if you do go beware of the bright blonde girl, with a tan and tattoos up her arm, she clearly isn't there to make your day pleasant and may even try to start something between you and other people. stay safe.
