We have a parks pass & paid $12 pp to take the elevator to the top of the tower. We took in the view on the top and then went down a floor to see the history of Hot Springs starting in 1875. Photos and artifacts from the old hotels and bath houses were presented with a timeline.

It was too damn hot for 3 out of 4 of us to hike up the mountain, so I drove up. Parking was free, but a bit crowded on July 20, 2025. If you don't find a spot, there is a loop to drive back around. Historical info of the tower is out front. TIP Shout out to Greg J. who on 7.9.2024 pointed out that going back down the mountain on the one-way road, folks will pass the Happy Hollow cold spring fountain. I didn't see anywhere, on their advertising of the event, if I needed to register so I emailed them and received a reply from the Brad, 'this class is open to the public. No registration is required'. I went the first Wednesday night and was told that because I didn't register I couldn't stay. I told the person in charge that I was told there was No Registration! Her reply was, 'Sorry, no room'. So much for no registration. I will rethink joining them for any event in the future since I have to drive 1 1/2 hrs. to attend the classes.

Kids were laughing nonstop trying to walk against it or just letting it carry them around. The kids' area is also great with zero entry access, making it easy for younger ones to play safely. For Saline County residents, it is only $5 for a day pass, which makes this a really affordable outing for families. Staff was friendly and everything ran smoothly.
