Passport issue : The postal worker helping me with my passport seemed friendly enough but she did not know what she was doing . She handed me back my birth certificate and never sent this with the passport . She kept asking me if this was my first passport she asked this question excessively approx 10 times . She said there was a problem with my marriage license not having my married name on it . Marriage licenses DO NOT have your married name because name changes are done AFTER you are married ( through social security card reissue which I had and she never asked to see). If passports are going to be required to vote in the future this is a very ineffective way to get one issued. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION for Passports ! read more

Asked to have my mail held since I was moving, but wanted what was currently there before the carrier sent it out. Male employee said no and that I'd have to wait till it 'delivers'. Problem is I do not live there anymore with no key to mailbox, I already submitted the documents to stop delivery and do not have a change of address yet. Theres an important piece of mail I need coming in today for a court case and the male employee refused to ask the carrier to come back just so I can have it. He wouldn't even let me talk to a supervisor. Very poor customer service. read more

Just finished dropping off some mail and a package to send to my friends for Valentine's Day. Overall the experience here was quick coming in and out since we came about half an hour before closing. So there were only a few patrons in the parking lot. There's a 24 hour self service section right in front when entering the post office entrance door and then there's a service counter section to the left. When we walked in, there was three employees behind the counter and one of them yelled across asking if we needed help. At first, it sounded harsh, and we thought the lady didn't seem like she wanted to help us, but then she turned out to be pretty informative and helped us calculate the adequate postage for a parcel and some letters. I waited in line for 30 minutes and once I got up front, the guy was a jerk and talked to me like I was stupid for expecting to be able to borrow a single piece of packing tape. I had already been stressing about getting there on time to deliver a birthday package for my mom, and his attitude was the straw that broke the camel's back. I lived on the west side for years and this used to be my go-to post office. After attending a meeting on the west side I dropped by to mail a package and was reminded that this is one of the most efficient locations with staff that's on the friendlier side. There's one guy in particular who is super friendly, will explain everything you need to know about pretty much anything, and has worked there for as long as I remember. Every post office needs one of him. Like pretty much every post office I've been in, it's older and a little worse for wear - it's a government entity that does retail (gift cards, envelopes, bubble mailers, etc.) and the emphasis is definitely on the government side of things. At least this location has a lot of windows/skylights so it's nice and bright inside. There is a self-service machine available in the lobby and there are drive-up mailboxes in the parking lot if you're just needing to drop off smaller, pre-stamped items. read more

Pros: the were well-stocked with US priority mail boxes and they even had tape available for customers, which is a rarity in most USPS locations nowadays. Counter worker Craig was really helpful to a couple of customers while I was in line. Seemed like they were all nice folks working here. Cons: multiple reviewers on other sites have indicated they have seen evidence of mail handlers loosing packages and opening packages for no apparent reasons. Hopefully they've got that sorted out now! I was a bit wary but I wasn't sending or receiving anything critical. I think one's experience with any post office depends on the time of day you go. Having it be crowded during the Christmas season compared to 1:40p in the afternoon in mid January will be two different experiences. I must say I have been pleased with my visits thus far. Staff at the counter have been helpful and try not to rush you. That is great, except when there is a longer line. Great service can slow down the waiting time. Nice clean facility, stocked up nicely with shopping supplies. All in all, 4 stars. read more

Stopped here on my lunch hour today to ship a Christmas present. With less than two weeks until Christmas, the place was packed and they only had two people behind the counter. However, i was pleasantly surprised how quickly the lines moved between the counter people and the self service kiosks. I have stopped here many times before to ship items for work and the people are always very friendly. Since there was a line, i used the self service kiosk. I was third in line at 12:15 PM. I gave them a 3-star, due to one of the kiosks, did not print the woman in-front of me in line's label because of a technical issue. This held up the line for about 5-10 minutes. A staff member, was prompt about fixing the issue, once he was able to tend to the machine. I spent a total of 20 minutes here mailing my single package. read more

I don't know what happened to common sense, but my local USPS PO has little to none. When a package is out for delivery from other than my usual carrier, these folks not only do not attempt to ring the bell or otherwise alert me to a delivery, but they do not even come to the door to leave the package so that it will both: be protected from the weather under the porch overhang and I need not put on my overcoat and shoes and go out into bad weather to retrieve a now soggy package. Speaking to the supervisor results in them agreeing that is a poor practice, but it does not resolve the issue. The old guy was nice and helpful, but that doesn't resolve my issue. Now that our regular carrier is off for awhile, our mail is sporadic at best. WE are a business and it happens every time. Also you can call 10 times a day and they never answer the damn phone. I don't know what business would survive like this other than the Post Office because it's run by the govt and they apparently can do whatever the hell they want. This has been my main post office for over twenty years. The service is very good. Staff keep lines moving efficiently. Importantly, this is a cheerful staff overall. There's another post office closer to my home, but when comparing the two groups of staff the Struck St. team offers much better customer service. Not grumpy. :) read more

They constantly claim they've "attempted delivery" at my address, but I am home and they didn't. They'll say they "can't access the delivery location," but have made deliveries to the same exact place in the prior days. I can't reach anyone by phone and calling the nationwide customer service line results in a hold time of an hour and a half. I'm tired of being lied to about deliveries again and again, just do your job! read more

On 12/29/09 I sent a parcel with T-Shirts and Candy to my brother overseas. The postal worker at the post office said that he "may open the parcel to CHECK" what is inside. Sure enough he did "CHECK" the contents of the parcel after I left the P.O. The result - I wasted $28 on postage, my brother never received the parcel, the P.O worker was rude and spiteful, my parcel's contents was stolen. read more

After living in Middleton for years and going to that post office in town, I thought maybe all of them were like this - long lines, crabby and unhelpful workers - but then I moved to this side of town and started going to the Struck St post office and was so happy to find that there are people at the post office who WANT to help you and even smile.I have never once had a bad experience here and sure sometimes there are lines but they move quickly and the great personalities of the workers make up for any wait time. I have had certain fees waived (like the time a company sent me a package to my old address, then it was forwarded and I couldn't get it delivered but had to pay to come get it in person) multiple times without me asking! The customer service is fantastic! They also have two 24 hour self service machines that make the process easier if you don't want to wait and the guy at the counter was nice to explain to me things to improve the experience during a self service checkout! read more

Now I must pay late fees to the DMV. I still don't know where my renewal notice is that was mailed out to me. When I confronted them about my missing mail they went to look for it and found one of the missing letters on the same day I inquired about it. I asked them where it was and they said that I must have pushed it out of my mailbox. Why didn't they put it back in my mailbox? I was supposed to have received it two weeks ago, so why they had it laying around for so long, I don't know. I was surprised when I received a voicemail telling me I missed an important appointment. I wonder what else I'm not receiving. This worries me. Additionally, they keep asking for my I.D over and over again every single time I go in there like this particular post office is now the new "Police-State". I feel this is very rude, prejudiced and unnecessary of them since they know who I am and they know I've had this box for over two years! Every time I ask them about this, they say they do it all the time for people they still don't know after two and a half years, but I've never seen them do it. Went to this location yesterday to get a box to mail a package. While looking at all the boxes, Patti came up to me asking if she could help. She was amazing! She found me a box, brought me tape and a label and within minutes I was set to mail. Then I went to the "do it yourself" area to get the postage. Within less than a minute, Robert (Bob) asked if he could help...he proceeded to walk me through the entire process. My package (that I was thinking would cost me $20 to $30) ended up costing $9.95! I'm a 71 year old lady and I was dreading this entire process due to the Christmas season....but I walked away with the biggest smile for the incredible service. Good work !!! My item had not showed up in the system so I could track it, and he went in and checked everything and made sure it was there and ready to go and I am so grateful.
