The clerk today didn't seem adequately equipped to do his job. He held up the line for 25 minutes because he couldn't figure out international shipping (the girl ended up getting frustrated because he kept giving her conflicting information and she left without sending the package) then told me that two day delivery for a package sent on Monday couldn't be guaranteed until Saturday... save the hassle and go to FedEx instead. Their shipping was also half the price of USPS for delivery on Wednesday. Two stars because I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he recently started and doesn't know what he is doing yet/wasn't trained well. read more

They can work my nerve at this location, but I'm sure the student population can work their nerves with our varied needs. What I like: 1. Open until 4pm on Saturdays. 2. The vet clerk with the incessant Dad jokes. Man he's corny but I promise I laugh everytime and at everything. Look, a number of netflix specials aren't even good so I'm not saying he deserves a Hollywood comedy check... I am saying he's a welcomed delight. 3. Parking out front. 4. Best location for the campus area since 2007. It's at the best intersection given the size of cpus and right in the free 80 & 81 bus lines (other lines pass by but naming these for those at the back of campus). Garage parking next door. I love this post office. Friendly, cheerful workers. Nice selection of stamps. Good location. I came here to get stamps for my postcards, which I got at one of the nice used bookstores that Madison is known for. I'll bet you don't know how to write and send a postcard. They put the wrong labels on my packages and when I nicely asked for a refund (because the packages went to the wrong places) they were super rude, condescending, unhelpful and frankly mean and denied me any help or solution. read more

Its a post office. They do postal things. Not a huge customer but over the holidays, I had a few opportunities to stop in and ship packages for return. The wait times were never long (most likely due to the student's away from Winter Break) and the staff were all very helpful. What more can I ask for? read more

I frequent this place way too much. I feel like I should work there. At least they would be giving me money instead of the opposite. While standing in line, I always seem to be able to help someone else in line. I guess it makes me feel better about myself in a small way. Some type of community service effort. The very knowledgeable service staff is great (4-5 stars) and the incredibly long line (1-2 stars). So, I'm splitting the difference at 3 stars. I have just recently moved to usps online and now have very little wait times. Bonus! read more

They got the worst service ever. I have no idea what's going on with the lady there. She seems like she hates everyone and all the customers need to appreciate her service. The workers here are so incredibly friendly. I am the type of person who likes knowing where my mail is, and I've been sending letters for the past week and a half to my boyfriend who is at military training. The workers never seem annoyed that I come in to hand my letters over rather than putting them in the blue box, and anytime I see them working with someone else, they are polite and incredibly helpful. read more

Differing from the average opinion, I got great service at USPS! My postal guy helped me way beyond what I expected. He asked me what I had and where I was sending it to, and based on that, he told me the cheapest and fastest way to send my bulk of clothes, food to my boyfriend would be the flatrate priority box! Only $18 for probably 2-3 pounds of stuff, arriving in 2 business days (P.S. you could send even heavier stuff, as long as it fits into the box). I've never met such a knowledgeable postal service person! Love it. Thank you for making my experience so easy and efficient. read more

I work at the University and this unfortunately is the most convenient location if you have to ship anything. I would give it zero stars if I could. It exemplifies the worst of the whole USPS customer experience. The lobby display of shipping materials is disorganized. Given that the University has an international population, the more obscure requests i.e. shipping overseas and across country should be expected. I have heard that they make overseas shipping a nightmare. I had to ship an ebay sale today. I went with my sale in an envelope that I had no problem using back in SD. The lady at the counter who claimed to be the supervisor had a serious attitude problem. I've worked with the public and know it isn't easy, but if you really are that bad at interacting with the public, you get let go in a private business. Not so with the USPS. She was an older woman who probably would have gone ballistic if she had been treated the same way as a customer as she treated me. She condescendingly called me young lady like I was an idiot who did not know anything about shipping or mailing. I worked at a law office for almost two years with the primary responsibility of handling shipping packages and certified mail, so I know quite a bit about how to handle mail. She was a monster who has no business interacting with the public. I hope someone takes action and removes her from contaminating others with her nastiness. read more

Absolutely terrible service that I just received. A few weeks ago, somebody there was very kind and helped us locate a UPS SurePost package that got sent to the wrong address. She said she would resend it to the new address. It's been a month, and I haven't seen it. This is a very important package, and my fiancé and I have been calling every day trying to locate it. Nobody ever answers, and when they do, they hang up on you right away (happened twice now). The final time, a lady picked up and was very rude. I explained the situation and how I didn't have a USPS tracking number because it was a SurePost, but somebody there was still able to help me locate it. She didn't even want to help and told me to call tomorrow. I explained that every time we call, nobody answers. She said, "I see you've tried to call multiple times." I said, "Yes. It's a very important package, and I need to locate it." Terrible customer service. I will be calling tomorrow to tell the managers about the awful customer service I received, and I hope this individual is spoken to. read more
