General Equipment Rental…read more I rented a Penske truck 04-08-2017 and paid cash. After two weeks (I work full time and crazy hours) and no calls from this company I called 269-375-6200 listed on my rental agreement/receipt to check on my deposit. This number will not allow a customer to speak to anyone at this rental location, it is only to reserve a rental. I then searched on line for a contact number and called a 1-888-996-5415 which led me to a Grand Rapids location who was willing to call the Kalamazoo location and then return my call. I said no thanks, asking for the Kalamazoo number, which was given to me. Upon calling the Kalamazoo number I was informed I needed to leave my number so they could return my call due to being busy. I said no and I'd be there in person. The manager, whom did not give me his name, no name tag and no name on receipt, informed me that he told me on the day I rented the truck to call on 04-12-2017 and check on my deposit. This, I do not recall and is his word against mine. I asked, how was I to call him if the only number listed on the receipt (as stated above) will only allow you to rent a truck and there is NO option to speak to a person. Manager said "oh really" glanced at my receipt and shrugged his shoulders. Asking why no one called me, the manager stated he did but it "didn't work". I then asked why he didn't leave a message and his response was he was "too busy". So did he call me??? I think NOT!!! I revisited the Penske web site so I could contact customer service. All it allowed me to do was leave me my information and am now waiting to see if they will contact me. I will suggest they visit Yelp Kalamazoo MI and read my review. I was concerned if they will take the time to explain how to load/unload the car but Cristian was super helpful. He was way past his work hours but took the time to explain things nicely and made sure I was comfortable before driving off. They can get a bit busy but that's ok as they give you excellent service.
