When I arrived to the facility the gate code didn't work so we couldn't get into the unit. We double and triple checked the code and called emergency number 3 times and went straight to voicemail with no call back. We also tried renting another unit on the Kiosk at the office, with the same results. After a few hours we were finally able to tailgate someone in and unload, unfortunately by then it had started to pour rain. Turns out that the website inaccurately stated that the gate code could be between 6 & 10 numbers but in reality it has to be 6. The next day I contacted them to get it straightened out and to ask that the $20 admin fee be returned to me for my trouble. The assistant manager, Jim, was very helpful but the refund had to be approved by his regional manager, Tyler. Tyler denied the request. So the moral of the story is make sure you pick a 6 digit gate code, pray there isn't an actual emergency because nobody will answer, and Tyler has terrible customer service.

It took under 2 hours to load the truck, and 4 hours (!!!) to unload - and the move was only completed in that 6 hour time frame because I hired two additional movers from a different company who were over in moments, thankfully, because the poor kid from Oody was falling asleep on the job, literally any time he was still. The guys who showed up were young (early 20s), they were scheduled for 3pm, we were their second move for the day, but the third shift for one of the movers who was clearly totally exhausted after working another job all night - so he was awake for 24 hours at 5pm. I was clear with management that we had large pieces and we needed guys who could lift it. That was not communicated well, and what should have been an "easy job" was a total mess due to the lack of leadership from Oody. I was so frustrated and upset - all our home ultimately needed be unloaded onto the lawn and then taken up to the apartment so we could get the pieces that didn't fit into a storage unit, and these movers off the clock. It cost 2 hours more than the quoted 4 hours expected (and quoted) for 6 hours total. It ended up costing me twice what was quoted by the time I got the move done and paid all the guys at both companies. I needed strong end lifters for a straightforward move, and that was not what I got. Even with the furniture not fitting, that should not have resulted in the 6 hours of work. I was on a budget, they blew my budget, they did not provide an adequate response to the dilemma (like sending out their own men to help finish the job, without charging me extra for not being able to do it as promised), and the half hour they cut off the bill because of the trouble was inadequate compensation for the problematic situation they created. I called to discuss this with the manager, and I continue to wait to hear back. Since I haven't heard from him yet, I decided that it was appropriate to give an honest review of my experience with the company. I will not be using them again.

I switched from the Kalamazoo location to this location a couple of years ago and was AMAZED at how…read morethe staff at this location goes the extra mile for their customers! Not just my annual service and pickup, but this year I hit a stick and the mower stopped working. I have a large area to mow and the grass grows tall and fast, so when I called in a panic because I was worried I'd get a ticket for tall grass, they came right away! Not only that, but they picked my tractor up at 8AM and brought it back at NOON the same day! They also troubleshot a problem I was having with the clevis on my cart bending and attached a new part in a different configuration so it would hopefully prevent any further issues. Jim and Don are the nicest guys and I always have pleasant conversations with them. It seems to honestly make them happy to give such great service and I am not exaggerating when I say they go above and beyond to make sure they can do all they can for you. Jim even said he'd have mown the lawn if he'd had the time today! I cannot recommend them enough and am so thankful the Kalamazoo location was too full to take me a couple of years ago, because paying a little extra for the pickup/dropoff to Plainwell isn't that much more and totally worth it! I am hoping to purchase a home generator at some point and this will be the business I call first!
