I never worried about my storage the whole time I was there and every time there was ever any issue they always called me. Whenever I called, they called me right back. I never had a problem with payment and every time I ask a question they always had an answer. After finding out the facility units had caught on fire next to our unit we then realized our unit was blocked off from access. I called the office to ask what would be happening with our unit and if we would be charged for days that our unit was not accessible. I was told it would be prorated and a letter would go out explaining the situation. No letter was ever received. They then blocked off the burnt units with a fence finally opening up access to our unit. I called to ask what price we would need to pay for the month and was told full price, they would not be prorating. I explained that I had talked to her previously and she denied ever having said it. I then asked about security at the facility as I was informed that the cameras at the facility were game cameras not capable of producing usable footage in the event of a robbery. I was then told that if I didn't like there security and the fact that they would not be prorating my months rent that I should find another storage facility. I thought this information valuable for anyone looking to store items at this storage facility. Very Shady. read more

I have been a customer here for nearly ten years. I recently read a review by Autumn D. and found her professionalism and savvy to be lacking in a number of ways. In fact, her comments on Jody are not a review but rather a personal attack that borders on libel. She describes the remodel that occurred to a number of tenants as a surprise. U-Store had contacted all of us that would be affected by their remodel, provided adequate time and made arrangements to accommodate our needs while they went about the needed improvements. I suspect Autumn did not pay attention to the notifications and U-Store was forced to deal with her unit as best as they could. Considering she was a late pay, absentee tenant. My rates were raised as were most tenants. They have been raised occasionally by both the former owner and U-Store since it purchased the facility. They have made some very nice changes but with them comes an unavoidable cost. I am always concerned but I check around and they are always in line with the local market. They are the lowest cost per square foot if not lower than most. Storage rents seem high and customers find it that way no matter where you go. I wish they were lower but they are not. I know that my time involved in moving would cost me more than the dollar or two I might save. Her comment that her rates were doubled could only be true if she had contracted with them to move to a unit that was twice the square footage or a space with additional climate control. Her expectation that she should be treated any differently than everyone else is tell tale as to her mentality. I have dealt with Jody for a number of years and she is a very friendly and efficient manager. I witness her exchanges with other customers in the office when I pay my rent and she is not rude but in fact quite the opposite. Jody goes out of her way to smile and act professionally despite having to deal with all types of personalities. If anyone could be classified as rude it would appear to me that Autumn wins that one hands down. The system is based on a month to month tenancy and Jody's job is to apply the rules and contractual outline with an evenhanded approach. Her job more than likely forces her to deal with a number of late pay and delinquent customers. When a tenant is late or in arrears there is a lengthy process with ample notification to a tenant. Autumn is fortunate that her stored treasures did not reach the point of being auctioned off. U-Store operates like most on a strait and simple rental contract that mirrors a landlord tenant relationship. I have been away at times and I am bright enough to know that I can pay in advance or set up an Auto-pay at my bank or pay via PayPal at any time. I nor anyone else is given a break for longevity and Autumns assertion that they could jack the price up by replacing her with a new tenant is absurd. Most storage facilities have a 8 to 10% vacancy rate at any given time and gain no advantage by evicting a tenant. If I felt the grass was greener at another storage facility the option to self vacate is always there. It sounds like another storage facility is now blessed by Autumns presence. They will ultimately find that she is economical with the truth and a difficult tenant to work with. read more

Been using ustore in st.helens for about 4 yrs now. I must say every month when I call Jodi is a real pleasure every time. Always laughing and gets my payment done quick. This place is falling apart since Jodi has been gone. Marcy is lazy and unorganized. I've noticed the US flag is never taken down and the flying advertizement banners are never put out anymore. She is rigid and doesnt seem to understand the policies of the company like the previous manager did. Each month when I pay my rent she seems unsure and confused about how to handle the simplest tranzaction. The property is not nearly as clean and the problem tenints are not dealt with like when Jodi was there. I'm moving out of this place! I've been here for years, but when U-Store took over they moved my belongings to a larger unit WITHOUT my permission! Then, they doubled my rates, knowing I travel the United States and couldn't possibly make it back to find another unit with a different storage company. We came to an agreement to slowly and gradually increase my rate, until I was "caught up with other tenants". It was like being held for ransom! Jody Tucker is so unprofessional and RUDE! I've had to call the corporate office on her twice She called me to "evict" me for being "perpetually late"! I might be late with my rent, but I've been there so many years (6+), that they should know I'm not going to just fudge them off. They just want me out so that they can jack the price up for someone else! They say their rates are comparable to their competition, but that is a lie. I'm moving my belongings and taking my business across the way to Guardian Storage on Old Portland Rd.. Hopefully, on to a better partnership. I'm in process of BBB complaint, the way they have been to me is unacceptable! Save yourself a headache, store your things somewhere else. read more
