It seemed like the first 3 floors are now set with a max of 3 hours and the time to park free is a bit more limited than before. Times have changed, I guess. After parking, I went to pay at one of the stand-alone machines. I entered my ticket, and, in a few seconds, the machine gave me back my ticket. Nothing on the screen changed. I tried again, same thing. So, I guess there was no charge for me to park. I got ready to exit through the gates and the thing prompted me to pay, so I guess the stand-alone machine wasn't working then. I wished they had put something on that stand-alone machine to state it wasn't working. I'll know for the next time to make sure some sort of amount is shown when validating my ticket (lesson learned). Note: When exiting by the gate, it doesn't take cash, and you may not always get a receipt. Per their website here is today's cost: 0 to 90 minutes (FREE). 90 minutes to 3 hours ($3). 3 to 4 hours ($4). 4 to 5 hours ($5). 5 to 8 hours ($8). Daily Maximum or Lost Ticket $20.

They were so nice and helped me load my metro card. The machine wasn't accepting one of my credit cards. Then, they helped me plan my trip by looking at the map and suggesting the closest station to my meeting. They even told me which exit to use and how far my walk would be, once I exited the station. The trains were prompt and clean. I arrived at my destination with plenty of time to walk to my meeting. The trip home was the same. I am appreciative of the kindness of others and I had to give Rockville Metro a shout out for great service and awesome employees.

I was looking for parking for Rockville Town Square. The entrance, which I forgot to take a picture…read moreof and will post later when I get the opportunity, is right in between Gold's Gym and Pandora Seafood House & Bar, is very deceiving, and looks like parking for the Square. However, it is NOT. Maybe going past the pictured entrance and to the right would have taken me to the correct lot, but I had just assumed it would be the right place. Sometimes, there are offices or stores that are kind enough to validate parking tickets even for non-customers, so I went through several offices in the building, but no one would help me, because I was not a customer/client of anyone in the building. Either all the offices are really strict or the parking validation process is very strict. I even ended up on the phone with parking management, who only said it's my fault for parking in the wrong place so I would have to pay. And it took me another 5-10 minutes to figure out how to get out of the building back to where my car was parked. Everyone said that the machine won't charge me if it's been less than 30 minutes, but since there was no mention of that on the sign, I didn't bother to leave believing someone in the Square would validate my ticket. But who knew that no one in the Square could validate my parking ticket because it was not the right parking lot? There needs to be clearer signage that this is NOT for Rockville Town Square and also that the parking is free for 30 minutes. The only reason why I didn't give only one star but bumped it up to two is because I'm the one that parked in the wrong place. I should have taken my time to read the signs more carefully.

Getting in the garage is a breeze but the method for getting out is a little trickier. If you follow the signs inside the garage you will find yourself at a dead end which I did the first time. Pay close attention and you'll get out without much issue. The pay system typically works without any issue and the first two hours are free. It's great and free if you're just doing grocery shopping.
