I didn't see much activity going on in the hospital, not sure if that's good or bad. The facility was clean and seemed well staffed on my friend's floor. My friend thought that her needs were being met. I guess that what matters.

I had a fast heartbeat and was lightheaded. This was a severe allergic reaction to a topical cream. At 8:00 pm I had not been seen so I asked why. I was told it would be at least 2 more hours before I would be called to the back because they had no beds. There were several folk that had been there since 11:00 am and they were frustrated and starting to break. People in wheel chairs that clearly needed medical attention immediately were not seen. People walking around in their own power were seen first. It's like they cherry picked what appeared to be the mildest cases they could get in and out quickly. An elderly gentleman was trying to get from the wheelchair he was in to another one. At least two employees were standing around and did not offer to help him. He ended up falling!! A couple nurses from the triage area beside the registry desk came out to help him up. The one with glasses pushed him back where he was said "you sit down and stay." The staff did not display empathy and had clearly become jaded. The culture at this place is patient need blind! Someone can walk in with blood spilling from their head and they will make you register first then take a seat. I have seen hospitals like this on the news. But having the opportunity to witness it first hand adds a different layer to it. If you or a loved one needs immediate attention please, do not go to this hospital ER.

I sat in the waiting room less than five minutes before my name was called. After filling out the paperwork they walked me to the lab (didn't want me to get lost, I guess) where I waited less than 10 minutes before I was called to the back to get an EKG, and drained of all bodily fluids. I have spider veins, yet they hit blood on the first, pain free poke. Kudos to the lab staff! When I showed up on the 1st for the surgery, again, there was no waiting. Less than 20 minutes after arriving I was in a gurney, being prepped. I was in a lot of pain post op (duh). I know I annoyed the nurse assigned to me in recovery but she patient and kind. When I was moved to my regular room (two night stay for me) all of the RNs, NAs, lab techs, etc. were friendly, professional, and saw to my needs. When I said I hurt or was nauseous, I was given immediate relief. My one complaint were my roommates (in my private room). At one point there was a housefly that buzzed around, but after one of my naps, the fly was gone. There were also half a dozen ladybugs crawling on the ceiling. When one of them landed on me to say hello, I may or may not have screamed like a little girl, but like the fly, after one of my naps, the ladybugs were gone. I highly recommend St, Vincent's East. It's a lot farther from my home than other hospitals, but if I find myself in need of elective surgery again, I hope that I can have it done at STVE,.

I have been coming here for years and never had a bad experience…read more The drs are all professional and really seem to care about the patients. The office/support staff are all nice and display patience when engaged with patients. I specifically see Dr. Christian Dey and she is the absolute best! Her practice is busy so I recommend trying to stick to your appt time when you schedule it. I had to reschedule an appt and it took a couple of months for me to get another appt. All of my appointments are typically quick but thorough. The offices are closed from 12 to 1 for lunch but if you arrive during this period, you can still sign in ; the check- in process is easy and fairly quick. I really like coming to Eastern OB Gyn ...I always have a good experience.

Please do not choose this hospital if you are under 30, single and a person of color. You will be ignored. Your opinion will not be considered. Your voice will not be heard. Your life and time will be of no importance I found a lump in my breast in February of 2021. Made an appointment to visit my physician. At my appointment, I was told that I WAS OK and IT WAS NOT CANCER and to follow up in 6 months. I followed up with Eastern OBGYN in the 6 months only to be told I have stage 3 breast cancer and it's spreading fast. I am 28. My initial visit when I discovered the lump was with Eastern OBGYN PC where I have been a patient since 2017. Where my medical records note that I have complained of breast pain since 2017 and I have a family history of cancer. I was told by my oncologist that the abnormalities were noted in my initial exam back in February of 2021 but the drs didn't think anything of it because of my age. I am only 28 years old. I was 27 at the time of my diagnosis in September of 2021. 6 months after I noticed the lump, notified my physician, and was told I was ok.Not one person of any status within this hospital system has apologized for such a careless mistake. After 6 rounds of intense chemo, losing all of my hair.. a double mastectomy and an infection from the double mastectomy and over a month of radiation 5 days a week I am still having issues with this hospital system. Currently, I am in the process of completing 14 additional rounds of chemo and an additional drug. Dr. Ashley Fry is great. Dr. Anna Knight is literally an Angel on earth. She saved my life. The nurses are sent from heaven. Even after the surgery, I was bleeding profusely from one of my breast nipples, I visited my physician in tears and was told I was OK, it was not an infection and to just go home. A few weeks later, I myself discovered a huge infected hole on this very same breast that I was told by the doctors within this system that it was not an infection and I was ok and to go home. Again, I was ignored. I went to the ER a couple of weeks later and was told I had an infection and they had to remove the implant that was just placed bc of the reconstruction and mastectomy. Please choose the nearest research hospital or best research hospital for cancer treatment. Do me this favor and save your life. I'm not sure if this review will post because every other review that I've tried to post has only been visible to me. I pray that I will save your life. Also, I filed a complaint with the hospital and was told that someone from eastern would reach out. It has now been 7 months later. NOTHING.
