After the visit, they do not make it clear how to pay, they do not always actually send the bill, and when they do, it doesn't include the statement for what you are being billed for. I recently received a statement in a partially ripped and taped envelope. It's a shame given that their service is good, however when I am trying to focus on getting better, I shouldn't have to spend several days and calls trying to figure out how to pay a bill that was never even sent.

The food court has several stations, including a salad bar, meat-and-three, sandwiches, and of course, the pizza bar. Everything looked clean and organized, even the salad bar, which can sometimes get messy after a lunch rush. There were four or five cashiers working, so the line moved quickly, and they accept both cash and major credit cards. Their most recent inspection in November 2025 gave them a score of 90. The only issues noted were that the cheese on the salad bar and the pre-made sandwiches were slightly out of safe temperature range. One suggestion would be to add a dessert bar for a sweet treat fix. Overall, it was a smooth experience and a great option if you want a fast, satisfying bite while you're at the hospital.

Every time I've ever had to go to this office, from my initial call to Jay at the front desk to make an appointment, through the call from SB, the nurse practitioner, following up after my visit, I'm made to feel like I am their only patient! On a recent visit I received service that I thought did not exist anymore. Without going further into detail, let's just say that Dr. Weisberg proved without doubt that he is the most caring doctor I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with! Not only that, he and SB tackled my medical issue aggressively to ensure that it was dealt with as fast as possible. I'm forever grateful to this great group of people and the level of service that they provide!

A shuttle is provided to and from the hospital. Upon arrival as an emergency admission, I was able to checking in with only one person ahead of me. Triage was done in a very few minutes. Very soon afterwards I was seen by a PA, went to x-ray, treated, and after a brief wait at pharmacy I was on my way. All within 2.5 hours! Unbelievable. Very courteous and efficient staff. My visit with the Russell burn clinic was a follow up to an ED visit for a burn to my hand. Being…read morenew to Alabama and having never been to UAB main hospital, I found it frustrating to find the right parking deck. Having worked at a level one trauma center myself, I absolutely should've known to allow more time to get to the clinic on time. Either way, if you're going to the clinic, you'll need to park in the 4th Ave parking deck. (You can put UAB 4th Ave public parking in your GPS) Allow 20 extra minutes to find parking and get to the clinic. My parking was validated by the gentleman at the check in. That was a pleasant surprise. The other staff I had were wonderful! Shun was amazing. She's an RN who's been doing burn care nursing for 17 years. She is very personable and thorough in reviewing my medical history. The PA who saw me, Jared Morrison, was pleasant, professional and answered any and all questions I had. He explained the care of my burn thoroughly and made sure I understood. I was also given supplies to continue caring for my burn. Very happy with the care I received which has given me a good first impression of the main UAB hospital. (Parking aside! )

I had complex back surgery that lasted 6 hours instead of 4 due to complications during the surgery…read more(internal bleeding and low blood pressure.) I was in the ICU for 4 1/2 days. Was originally told by the surgeon that I would be able to go home after two days in the hospital. Despite the delay, I was pleased that the doctors kept me until they were satisfied I could safely go home. My recovery at 3 weeks post surgery is going well. I am a 78-year-old widower from Auburn.
