I enjoyed the commons because it was very spacious. The environment was very friendly and the employees were very nice. They had a variety of food options for students to choose from. I loved the broccoli and garlic pizza that they provided. I also loved the salad bar with various dressings. I like that you are able to go back for more food because as a student we sometimes do not get to eat enough meals through out the day. As you get done eating you are able to just place your plates, silverware, and cups on an assembly that goes straight to the kitchen. I would recommend the commons to any student who goes to UAB.

The Commons on the Green , this was my second time visiting the café.I enjoyed my meal with fellow classmates Juan and Kyha. To eat at the Commons for those who do not have a meal plan is around $12. I had a cheese pizza, salad, and penne pasta with tomato sauce. Overall the food was good and it's an option for those that are on campus full time or in between classes. The options available to consumers vary and has something for everyone which I enjoyed. The staff made sure each station was clean and plenty of food to be served. I enjoyed the open concept and plenty of seats available and able to see the Green.

I ate at the Common on the Green for the first time today. At entry, you have to pay before you can get your food. The total price to eat is $12.65. I don't think that is a bad price for a buffet style cafeteria. I didn't see any precautions for Covid-19. The employees working seemed friendly they all had smiles on their faces. They offered many seating selections whether you were dining with a group or sitting alone. They also had a private dining area towards the back of the cafeteria. As for the food I had a slice of pizza, a salad, and a lemonade to drink. The food was okay. It's nothing I would want to come back and get being that I do not stay on campus. Although if I were to stay on campus it would be an option.

First of all, the atmosphere of the Commons was really pleasant and the lady that greeted me at the front was nice. There is always someone at the front to greet you because you pay at the front. I ate by myself and watched a basketball game that was on one of 3 tvs. It is a good place to grab a bite for groups as well. The area where you pick up food is very open and spacious and as long as you miss the breakfast, lunch, or dinner rush you can take your time and eat. It wasn't too packed when trying to find a seat either. I would give it a five but the pasta could have been a little better. The food was good. They used spiced buffalo chicken for the Caesar wrap which is different than the last time I ate there but quite good. The pasta was dry and then you added sauce so it was ok but would have been better with some protein. If these aren't your preference they have many other options such as burgers or a salad bar. I would definitely recommend grabbing a friend and visiting the Commons

I did not see any COVID precautions while in there, but I also didn't feel unsafe at all.

My first time at Gabriella's was recently. This place gets really busy..... fast! When I arrived,…read more there were about 2 ppl already present and ordering at the hot bar. It's kind of hard to tell what all the food options are, so I had to ask what some stuff was. I managed to get a meat and 2 instead of a meat and 5! There were quite a few veggie options that looked amazingly delicious! I do not recommend coming here hungry or hangry. Ok, sooo I love meat loaf so naturally that's what I got. I also got collards and cornbread dressing & yes they had cranberry sauce. Everything was good tasting. The meatloaf was a little sweet to my taste so I probably wouldn't order it again. The veggies were not over seasoned or overcooked. I will definitely comeback here bc there is still just so much I wanna try. The staff is nice and took care of the crowd. I even witnessed them give a person in need food, as they were about to dig in the restaurant's garbage can outside for scraps. Made me count my blessings.. all of them! There is street parking only. I didn't have any issues parking on a Sunday afternoon. The inside of this restaurant is not big but I was comfortable dining in.

Only about 3 people at a time can hold inside before it's starts getting crowded. It stay pretty busy. Options are 1 meat with two sides or 2 meats with three sides combination. A la cart is available as well. They have ice tea or lemonade drinks in a cup that they also serve you. Lemonade was good. There's a very small counter to pay after you order. Fry chicken is tasty with perfect crisp. Collard greens were seasoned well and perfect texture. Yams (my favorite) was perfect - flavorful, not too sweet and firm but not hard. Both of us thought the Black eyed peas looked really good but taste bland. I would have preferred it without the Okra. I didn't see that when I ordered. One in our group commented the meat loaf was good. The dressing was really good too - well seasoned and tasty. After paying there's a dining area for self seating. It serves the purpose to sit and eat but definitely could use sprucing up along with the restrooms. Please seriously consider! It would make the experience much more pleasant to enjoy their delicious food. I took off two stars for that reason and yes it's that unpleasant as the tables/chairs are also too clustered together. The chairs don't fit around the table properly. Overall good southern food at a reasonable price and recommended. Skip dining in if you don't have too. Just my two cents.

With all the trash talk about them, much of the world has a special affinity for these establishments nonetheless, whether it's a grand Las Vegas buffet brunch, an extravagant all you can eat feast in Dubai or a place like the King Buffet in Pelham, a countryside low cost, high volume spot to feed the masses of the blue collar class. King Buffet opened in 2023 in a space formerly occupied by Golden Corral. It's pleasantly renovated and as clean as an establishment can be for a buffet concept. There are all the classics here and a few nice extras, like crab. The seafood at King Buffet is plentiful, but to be fair, not particularly good. The crawfish are somehow extremely tasteless, not because they are not spiced, but they just don't taste like crawfish. That's something I've never encountered before. The coconut shrimp is subpar. Mongolian beef is very loosely reminiscent of beef. With that said, all the dishes are not bad either, they are just not great. Where King Buffet shines is the service, with extremely attentive wait staff and superb cleanliness that results from that. As a whole, it does justice to this category of food and there is absolutely no reason to pass by if craving a buffet style meal.
