I am a huge fan of Uber and use it a few times a week. After using it for over 2 years, I am happy to say I have no complaints. Sure, the drivers can sometimes be a bit eclectic and you might gain a few funny stories to tell but I have never had a truly poor experience. The company is constantly making improvements to the app and working to maintain their high standards. You can split fares with friends, share your location, and see your drivers rating and trip price before getting into their car. I use Uber because of its extreme convince and I feel it is more safe than most taxi rides I have taken in the past. Wherever I go with Uber, it is nice to know that I will not have to worry about parking or finding a safe ride home if I decide to have a drink. read more

Why did I wait so long to try Uber? Very prompt, even at 5am. Drivers and cars clean. Courteous and accommodating. You get a response on your app indicating how long until they show up, with a photo of the driver, his name and car description. My driver from the airport phone me to confirm my exact location. Cost about half what a beat-up cab with a surly driver would. Cannot recommend too highly! read more

Ok so I took an Uber Saturday night to a friends house, 8pm or so. My phone pinged me and said 1 minute away. I walk down my steps to parking lot. I see a car make a u turn by the dumpsters. Then a few seconds later I get another ping saying ride canceled. No Biggie , I'm thinking maybe something came up. Mind you my ride total showed up on my phone as 7$ and some change. I walk back in the house . Scroll to uber again and see I have to set up another ride. No biggie. Says 3 or 4 minute wait. A different driver. Ride total goes up to 9$ and something. Plus I was charged 5$ for the canceled ride. Pretty good deal if you make 5$ a few times a night for canceled rides that wasn't canceled at all.Then the next driver charges a couple dollars more for the same ride. So he makes 7 something and you make 7 something for the same ride after he gives you the couple dollars over. Could be over thinking this. Got an email saying 5$ was put back into my account , as of today it's not. Be careful out there. It's a good service , comes in very handy. But I can see after a few drinks and in the wee hours of the morning , how a person can be mislead. Just my experience. 1 out of 4 or 5 rides not bad. read more

do not use uber. the minute they have your contact info they refuse to stop sending you e-mails and texts asking you to do this and that and no matter what you do, including deactivating your account and deleting the app, will stop them from harassing you. dont even try to contact anyone for support because there is no contact or anyone to complain to. screw uber. read more

We love Uberx! Our own private car and it's affordable! The cars are consistently clean and drivers are pleasant. Payment via the app eliminates awkward delays getting out of the vehicle. You can't go wrong with Uber! read more

Where do I begin ??? The drivers are polite , the cars clean and the rides on time ... But why would I only give one star ? Well unless you like being double charged for the same ride , a week and a half AFTER you ride ; the absolute lack of ability to get a real person on the phone (good luck finding a phone number) and all around bad service , you're gonna have a bad time . Uber was paid for one ride on Jan 29 , when we rode again Feb 5th , they magically charged me again for the Jan 29th ride . All they have is some bs text help where you message and wait up to 24 hours for a reply , and then you message back and wait again . Thus turning what could traditionally be taken care of in one simple phone call into 4+ days of bs , and still can't get a resolution . Uber blames PayPal , PayPal says uber requested the hold .... Nobody wants to give answers and meanwhile my money is lost in purgatory ..... All this over 13$ .... Screw uber , wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy .. read more

Requested Uber and the driver didn't know where he was going to pick me up and it was easier to just walk. Pretty ridiculous that they charged me five dollars anyway after telling me it was cancelled. All other uber experiences were positive. This one I didn't even get a ride. Lame. read more

Called for Uber to get from airport to hotel. $12 estimate. Driver went to wrong entrance, charged me wait time while I walked to get to him. Should be noted I was standing right where the app told me to stand and at the door number I gave driver. Got receipt and was charged just over $20.00. Explanation said "toll". There were no tolls. Tried to call Uber and automated response was "waited to long." Pupose of Trip: My mother's funeral. This really added insult to injury. read more

First time using Uber, went pretty smooth. Arrival time was quoted 4 minutes, took about 10, but I think it was just because of the nasty construction and light timing in KC MO at the time. Tracking was great and was able to send the driver texts. Driver was friendly and competent, he said he used to drive cabs in NY and it showed. I also got a bump up from X to XL for no extra charge because XL demand was low (1:45pm). His car was a clean new Toyota Highlander. My trip was from downtown KC to Kansas City Int'l, and was 20 miles in 23 minutes. Cost was $21.93. The past two times I've taken this trip it was a regular taxi and cost $50-55 after tip. I clearly don't need to explain the significance of the savings here. Couldn't believe it. Only problem is the app itself. All of the functions are split between app, web browser, and email client. Why can't I just see and do everything in the app? Instead I have to switch all over the place to see receipt, rate driver, change tip, etc. That's the only star I am knocking off. Last night my group had an awesome Uber driver to our location and luckily we saved $20 because one passenger was a new user. UNFORTUNATELY, after a night on the town, the fair was almost 5x's. I understand if a major event is going on or its holiday but for just a normal Saturday night, it should not have cost over $100 for a ride home. We ended up taking a taxi for $40. Uber used to be even cheaper than that but now, it's just a scam service. read more

I had planned on using Uber for the first time, going from MCI to my house in South Overland Park. Arriving at MCI at midnight, I tried to use the app to find a driver but kept getting he message that service was not available. I took Supershuttle instead, for $80. The next day, I looked on the Internet and found that Uber was approved for use out of MCI over a year ago. I'm not sure what is going on but I will be very cautious about using Uber in the future. read more

I needed to have a medical procedure done and needed a ride to/from the hospital. As I have only used a cab in Chicago and Paris, I was unsure about the whole "unknown" of Uber. Both drivers were very nice, easy to work with and comfortable to ride with, like a friendly neighbor kinda guy. The experience was easy, efficient and safe. First of all, I was initially such a big fan of Uber and very happy to see them in KC. I recommended them to my family when they were in KC to visit and they used them for transportation from their hotel to the airport. They couldn't get the app to work on their phone and the hotel helped them call an Uber driver. The Uber driver was also not able to get the app to work on their phone but agreed to provide transportation. Once they got to the airport, the driver charged them $20 over the agreed upon price and Uber refuses to refund the money despite my family and the hotel filing complaints. Took and UBER ride from KC airport to an off site car rental location and then was unable to print my receipt for the $36 ride to take it off my expenses. There is NO way to call anyone from uber you can email if you figure out HOW. So the app works on my phone and their website shows I used the service but after 5 days of emails back and forth with "customer service" I still have no receipt. Signed up to drive Uber but after reading reviews of how a billion dollar company screws drivers by raising their commissions giving less to drivers not to mention the TON of costs in car, gas, tolls, insurance, etc you pay out of pocket. I decided to not drive. So I tried going on their site to tell them this but I cannot find anywhere I can contact customer support. Was all too easy to apply. Even the background ck went through in a DAY when they originally said would take 7-10 days which I KNOW it shd take that long so does it mean there's drivers out there with possible bad backgrounds that were hired anyway? Took my first Uber ride today. I take a cab to the grocery store, and with Yellow Cab and Checker cab, that means a minimum 45 minute wait, usually an hour.You also many times have to call and remind them you're waiting and make sure it was even dispatched. To which you get "They haven't picked you up yet?"... The cars smell and the drivers usually remind you of Charles Manson. I called Uber, was picked up within 5 minutes, with a very clean car, and very friendly driver. On my way home I always wait an hour, in the cold, heat,rain or snow. When I touched the Uber app on my phone, it said " Cab on its way!"..I was stunned. Then again, a clean new model car picked me up and in a couple of minutes I was home. An incredible experience. So, reg cab- 2 hour total wait time- Uber- 7 minutes top, round trip. Plus you don't handle the finances in the car! read more

I joined up today and my first request (Jim) accepted my request - when I made my request I entered both my home address and the destination address - after a few minutes I am waiting - Jim calls and ask for my destination - ok I tell - well now he needs direction to my house - he then asked again for my destination - the VA Hospital - my doctor had requested that I get asap - I only sought after Uber because all my family was at - any hoo Jim cancelled because I was going to HIM OUT OF WAY. I am a driver and I had a rider leave their phone in my car which happens from time to time. Since I had know idea which rider it came from I usually hang onto the phone and wait for someone to call and return it to them asap. In this case I worked until 5am and then went to sleep when I got home. I awoke to my phone going off repeatedly and my doorbell ringing relentlessly and aggressively. Uber gave the rider enough of my personal information that the rider had shown up at my HOME!!!! The safety of my wife and three kids was violated and this is unacceptable. Uber is pathetic. Let me say it again they allowed a rider the information to show up to my home and violate my family's safety. Of course I have heard nothing from uber they do not provide drivers with a number to call them, only an email address in which they pick and choose what they wish to reply to, again unacceptable!! read more
