My laptop's fan was being FAR louder than it should; after getting an initial diagnosis from Best Buy (where I bought the computer), the folks at Geek Squad recommended this location. I was excited--after all, it was only a short drive from me--but I was also nervous; I've had issues with computers before that had taken months to get fixed. I didn't want to be computer-less for all that time! Thankfully, the folks at uBreakiFix live up to their name. Even though they had to order a specific part for my computer, the repair was finished within a week. Every step of the process that I needed to know about was explained in concise detail, and I never found myself asking "Wait, WHAT are they doing to my computer?" Brought my iPhone 12 Pro Max in for a back glass repair. It cracked almost immediately after I put my case on, and they blamed me instead of their workmanship. When I removed the broken glass myself, it came off in one piece with zero adhesive and debris in the corners -- clearly the cause of the crack, not misuse. I brought it back and asked for a proper reseal (color didn't matter to me). They installed an aftermarket glass that looked fine and held up with my case. Later the phone got rained on. Because the back glass was never properly resealed to IP68 standard, water got inside and the phone is now stuck in recovery mode -- almost certainly a fried motherboard from that leak. The Herndon manager refused to warranty it, calling it "water damage" and ignoring that their failed repair is what let the water in. I then took it to the Myrtle Beach location to try drying it out -- they cracked my screen and said Herndon would coordinate a replacement. That never happened either. Brandon did several diagnostic tests to figure out what had been causing my issue and was able to do repairs to restore its functionality! Less than 10 months after paying uBreakifix Herndon $634.71 (June 15, 2024) for a Z Fold 4 inner screen replacement, the screen failed internally due to black lines, with no external damage. This clearly falls within their 1-year repair warranty. However, the Herndon store (Joseph) explicitly denied the warranty claim, demanding full payment again for the exact same issue. This refusal to honor their own warranty policy is unacceptable. Honestly, it felt like they refused just to save a buck, operating like a real Mickey Mouse operation where common sense goes out the window. This whole experience has left me embarrassed, out over $600, and seriously questioning what good the 1-year warranty is. read more

Went to them three times. One time I was sent there by my cell phone insurance for a cracked screen. The insurance said it would cost 35 or 40 dollars (I don't remember) They set up an appointment to go to that location. This location said the screen repair would cost $120. Through my insurance a brand new phone replacement was $200. I just ended up getting a new phone. Went to them again later to fix a loose connection on my laptop screen. Before even looking at it they quoted me at $300 for a new screen . Went somewhere else and they fixed the connection for way less. Went to them again this week to see if they could fix a power issue with my laptop. Left it with them. Next day they said they could not fix it. This location is a scam to try to pump the most amount of money out of suspecting customers for basic repairs who they think know nothing about electronics . If they can't do that, they will say they can't fix it. Go to a mom and pop computer repair shop or another location from this franchise. I have been treated way better and haven't been tried to be scammed from other locations. Gave this same review on Google and got a response from Brenda the owner. She tried to imply that I'm a liar by saying " the name isn't in the system" How many people have come into the Herndon location with my last name? My picture is on my Google page as well. My phone fell off a motorcycle whilst riding, was run over by a car, and sat on hot pavement for the better part of an hour. Impressively, it still worked but the screen was /powder/. The shop put a temp screen on it so I could transfer my data to a new phone for reasonable fee. Staff was friendly and helpful, and I was on my way in a perfectly reasonable amount of time. Fantastic option for Samsung repairs I was devastated when I picked my trusted Galaxy S9+ off the sidewalk and saw that the drop had cracked the front glass. Badly. Cracked is an understatement. It was also pitted, with pieces of glass missing. I debated getting a new phone, but really didn't see the value given that most are a step backward in many respects from my 3 year-old model...so I looked into repair options. I eventually decided to go with these folks since they are an authorized Samsung repair shop, using only Samsung OEM parts and testing after the repair with Samsung tools/software...so I dropped her off and waited. The result? Awesome. They did a standard repair, which included front and rear glass and a new battery for around $200. She looks brand new and the new battery is a bonus. The one downside is that they need to be able to access the device to install test software, so you either need to give them access or perform a factory reset before dropping it off. A less paranoid person probably would have just given them access, but I wiped mine and then restored after pickup. I have too many accounts and MFA tokens configured to trust anyone with my phone.
