Ubreakifix warning Please do not use this company for your electronics repair. I very rarely place reviews but this place provided one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I took my shattered iPad in for screen repairs. I spent $275 to repair the screens. Less than 2 months later the interior screen broke in one spot. My 4 year old granddaughter was playing a game where you tap the screen with your finger on an ice cream cone. The iPad was not dropped or damaged by us in any way. I took it into the Janesville location and they were rude and said we had clearly damaged it. When they could not show me any evidence of us causing this issue they agreed to order parts under warranty. I then left the iPad with them on June 19th. I was told I would have it back in a week. After waiting over a month I picked the iPad back up as no repairs had been performed. I called Asurion customer service and was told to take it to the store in Machesney Park, Ill. When I arrived they said this was already determined to be customer damage and took pictures saying they would try to escalate the repair for warranty and call me. Another week passed without any response. I contacted customer service and was told that no warranty repairs would be performed! These people do not stand behind their repairs and I would never recommend them to anyone! If I could rate them as zero stars I would. read more

I was completely locked out of my phone, and uBreakifix associates were able to reset my phone completely. I was locked out shortly after i got home again the first time, and i took my phone back. In an hour, my phone was reset, and it has been working correctly since. It's been about 9 months, and I've had no issues with it since the fix. read more

My phone completely died on me. I went there and they did a free diagnostic on it. Unfortunately they couldn't do anything for me because it was a mother board issue. So I went to Verizon and was told the same thing. I got a new phone and not all of my information was transferred. My husband went today and told them that I had very important pics, video, and notes on the old phone that didn't transfer over. They worked on the problem and got it working again. I didn't lose anything! Seriously amazing staff! They were great to work with and I will definitely be recommending them to everyone I know! read more

simply unreal the service they provide. My phone had built up gunk in the charging port which wouldn't allow a charger to stay connected. 20 minutes later I was out of there as good as new. well worth the $29.99 they charge for a tot cleaning. I highly recommend them. read more

If I could give them negative starts I would. I brought my Apple Watch in because the screen went black, less than 4 hours after I picked it up the entire screen came off. I brought it in a second time they supposedly fixed the problem until 2 weeks later the screen started lifting again. When they fixed it a 3rd time the guy said he used a strong adhesive it wouldn't happen again. 1 month later the screen went black again I took it back and they informed me the inside had water damage and I would have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. If the screen was properly sealed it would not have water damage. The tech told my Apple Watches shouldn't be submerged in water which is a total lie. DONT TAKE YOUR PRODUCTS HERE. read more

I was charged $200 to replace the keyboard on my laptop after a small spill. My laptop was return to me with a new palm pad, but without a working microphone or speakers. I swiftly returned it, waited almost 2 weeks for a reply.I was then told they could not figure out the problem that THEY HAD CAUSED. I am now out over $200 and all audio functions (microphone, speakers, headphone jack, etc.) no longer work. I've tried updating the drives and even reinstalling a previous version of my OS, but nothing has worked. I am completely livid that after bringing in my device for a "simple" repair, an entirely new problem was created that was not present before. A truly terrible experience. read more

Refuse to stand behind warranty. I have used their service numerous times in the past, and have referred several friends and relatives because I always felt this was a place that I could trust. Up until this point I had never had the misfortune of needing to bring anything back under warranty. I referred my grandson to their facility after a mishap with his iPhone X. The screen was replaced, and the frame "straightened", and everything appeared fine when I picked it up for him, on 3/24/2020. Unfortunately, less than 30 days later it suddenly developed huge vertical lines in the display. He brought it back for warranty and: 1. Was told that the failure was his fault, when it occurred he was sitting in his bedroom using the phone. 2. That there were loose screws or some such inside to prove that, of course we all know that no technician has ever failed to install, or tighten a screw. :-( 3. That it would not be covered under the, so called, warranty. And finally, whoever "inspected" the phone to reach this conclusion failed to even re-attach the screen, so that it was separating from the case, making a bad situation even worse. I posted a review previously, on this issue and received a response, allegedly, from an owner asking me to contact customer support for a 2nd opinion. My original review can no longer be found online, apparently taken down by someone. I did make that call to Customer Support, over a week ago, and they assured me that they would look into this and get back to me within 48 hours. I have heard nothing back so far and, at this point don't expect that I will. At this point I will never frequent this establishment again and will recommend against using this establishment to anybody who asks. read more

Got phone fixed to few days later black screen of death and can't use it what y'all do to my phone Bc I'm not forking more money out

Super simple. They said they would try to fix my disc failure and couldn't. (Fine) When I went to get it, no charge (great). Then they said they had a tech who thought he could do fix it (great). Ended up not being able to (fine again). All I asked was that the Xbox one be returned to me fixed or at the very least in the same condition given to them. I was assured it would be. Got it home. Plugged it in, format was distorted, WiFi not working, and controller link not working. Called Janesville location. Explained the situation. Tech said the settings were probably still set for their set up and if I did a reset of the system, it would fix the issues. Did a reset as suggested by their tech. Still had a WiFi issue and controller Link issue. Format fixed tho. System said it needed and update. Plugged the device in, it updated to 52%, and won't go any further. Called them again. They suggested bringing it back. Brought it back in. They fixed the WiFi and controller link issue so they said but NOW my hard drive is corrupted and it's bricking my Xbox one. This all after numerous conversations with them over the phone. This after they said twice it was working fine after everything. I had it back for 30mins and it's now a brick! They take NO responsibility for it. Than I go to pick it up and the tech tells me it's theirs until I sign the "Liability Wavier". I refused and he argued then gave in so I could leave with MY device! I called Microsoft last night to confirm what the tech had told me. They said it was false. Hard drive failure is a common excuse that's hard to prove otherwise per the Microsoft tech support. He said they probably flash my system and didn't recover it properly. Brought my phone in with water damage. They said they would need to keep it for 2 days. They called me the next day and said the phone was unable to be repaired. When I went to pick it up, the back of the phone was missing. The employee made a joke and said "Well its cool, now you can see the inside of the phone!" Uh no, I brought the phone in with a back on it. I would like my phone in the same condition I brought it to you in. What do I need to see the inside of my phone for?! Employee said "Well the back was broken. I can dig a broken one out of the trash and put it on for you if you'd like?" Again no, I didnt bring my phone to you with a broken back on it, I want it in the same condition I brought it to you in. Why would you offer me broken piece, from the trash, when it wasn't broken in the first place?? I also pointed out the sim card holder was popped out and would not slide back in. She said "We had a new guy working on this." She was also confused why I wanted a back on it when the phone was not repairable. Because its my property and I expect it returned to me in the same condition it was in! Eventually employee agreed to replace the back of the phone & sim card holder at no charge. When I picked up the phone I asked to speak to a manager, and his attitude was no better. I asked why they tried to return a phone to me in worse condition than I brought it in. He claimed the back had cracks in it, but it was not noted during the repair process. He said "we dropped the ball on not making notes, so we replaced the screen and took care of you. Had we made proper notes, we would have stood our ground and not replaced it." Excuse me, but obviously no notes were made because IT WAS NOT CRACKED! It was damaged during the repair process and they just wanted to cover it up! When I asked why I was offered something from the trash, his response was "Well its not unreasonable for her to offer you a used back, those backs are $40 a pop, why would we take a loss on that?" Oh I don't know, because you broke it?! Just because they couldn't fix the phone doesn't mean I can't take it somewhere else! They had the attitude of "we couldn't fix this phone, its junk, we will treat it like junk". Even when the person called to tell me to pick up the phone, there was no mention made of the back being busted/missing. The overall experience with them was disturbing and disgusting. They damaged my phone & did not want to admit it or fix it, instead they laughed it off and treated me like I was ridiculous for asking them to fix their mistake! I have filed a complaint with corporate and am awaiting a resolution. read more

I would give this service 0 stars if i could. so where do i start....... phone went in with a broken screen came out with something wrong with it. The first day they were fast the price was right and all was well until we got home. within hours the phone started to randomly reboot. Took it back a few days later (were from out of town) the guy opens up the phone and says look they forgot to hook this cable up here this is your problem hooked it up took it in back for a while came back out and said yup that was it. Get it home within hours same issue the phone keeps rebooting at random take it back in a couple days later same as before. The guy says im worried its the motherboard or battery well have to run diagnostics. That night we get a call saying its the battery i believe $49.99+ for a new battery is what we paid. Get the phone back battery replaced this time i felt good it lasted one day the following evening it started happening again. Take the phone back a few days later this time they say theyre going to have the motherboard tech look at it this time. They have the phone a few days upon getting it back they say if it happens again well issue a full refund. Meanwhile i call the store in madison and ask questions about policy and according to them if they dont fix the phone we dont owe anything. well low and behold it happens again reboot at random we bring the phone back they say one last try and get i believe the owner involved in wich case they had the phone a couple more days. only to tell us its the apps on the phone she needs to delete tic tok snapchat and instagram, and that the problem was on our end. So i called and spoke with a tech from us cellular and well he couldnt offer solutions he said that was the biggest load of crap he has heard. Not to mention the phone worked absolutely fine before it went in (just a broken screen).Now no refund even for the battery that was clearly not needed without them taking the battery back and the phone going without. she was told shede have to find a battery. horrible horrible place to take your phone RUN! However i have done business with the madison store and they are great awesome service and staff very knowledgable. So dont shun all stores its this one inparticular. read more
